Today, we’re taking a close look at ACE Rent A Car, located at 6130 N Jackson Gap Way, Aurora, CO 80019, USA. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative perspective on this specific car rental provider, helping you, our local users, understand its characteristics from a local’s point of view.
ACE Rent A Car is known for often offering highly competitive rates, which can be particularly attractive for budget-conscious travelers. However, as with any service provider, understanding the full picture is crucial. This is especially true for off-site airport rental companies, which operate a bit differently from those directly at the terminal. Our goal here is to give you a factual overview, drawing on publicly available information and real customer feedback, to help you navigate your options when considering ACE Rent A Car for your next journey in Colorado.
We'll cover everything from its location and how to access it from DIA, to the typical services they offer, and important features or aspects highlighted by past customers. By the end of this guide, you should have a more comprehensive understanding of what to expect when renting from ACE Rent A Car at their Aurora location, allowing you to make an informed decision for your Colorado travel needs. It's about being prepared and knowing what questions to ask to ensure a smooth rental experience.
ACE Rent A Car at 6130 N Jackson Gap Way, Aurora, CO 80019, USA, is situated near Denver International Airport (DIA). It’s important for local users to note that this is an off-airport location, meaning it’s not directly within the main DIA rental car center. Instead, ACE operates via a shuttle service to transport customers between the airport terminal and their rental facility. The shuttle pick-up location at DIA would typically be designated for off-site rental car companies, which you can confirm at the airport's ground transportation area.
The address, 6130 N Jackson Gap Way, places it a short drive from the main DIA campus, making it accessible but requiring the extra step of a shuttle ride. Shuttle service is typically a common practice for many value-oriented rental companies operating near major airports. Reviews indicate that there are "no issues waiting for the shuttle or waiting in line for a representative," suggesting the process, while requiring a shuttle, can be managed.
This location is open seven days a week, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, which provides ample hours for both early morning and late-night flight arrivals and departures common at DIA. For Aurora and Denver residents, accessing this location via their own vehicle would involve navigating towards the DIA vicinity. Being off-site can sometimes translate to slightly less traffic at the actual rental counter, but the shuttle journey is an additional consideration for planning your time.
ACE Rent A Car, positioned as a more economical option, typically offers a range of standard car rental services to cater to travelers, including:
Diverse Vehicle Fleet: They generally offer a variety of car classes, from economy and compact cars for budget-conscious travelers to mid-size, full-size sedans, and SUVs. While specific models may vary and can include those with "lots of damage on these cars" as per reviews, the aim is to provide options for different group sizes and luggage needs. It is advisable to inspect the car carefully.
Online Reservation System: Customers can typically reserve vehicles online through ACE's website or third-party booking platforms. Reviews mention the "online experience to reserve was great," suggesting their digital platform is user-friendly.
Airport Shuttle Service: As an off-site rental location near DIA, ACE provides complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport terminal, a standard feature for this type of operation.
Optional Coverage and Extras: Like most rental companies, ACE offers various additional coverage options (such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Supplemental Liability Insurance) and extras like GPS units, child safety seats, and often, toll passes and prepaid fuel options. However, customer feedback strongly suggests careful review and questioning of these offerings to avoid unnecessary charges.
Age Requirements: Generally, the minimum age for renting is 21 years old, with a young driver fee often applied for those between 21 and 24 years old. This is typical across the industry.
Fuel Policy: Their standard fuel policy is often "Full to Full," meaning you receive the car with a full tank and are expected to return it full to avoid refueling charges. As noted in a review, cheaper gas stations may be found nearby.
24/7 Roadside Assistance: While not explicitly detailed in recent reviews for this location, most major rental companies offer 24/7 roadside assistance for breakdowns or emergencies during the rental period.
Based on available public information and customer reviews, here are some features and highlights of ACE Rent A Car at 6130 N Jackson Gap Way, Aurora:
Competitive Pricing (Initial Reservation): The "online experience to reserve was great - policies and price seemed very good." This indicates that their initial quoted prices for car rentals can be quite attractive, often lower than major competitors, appealing to those seeking a "cheap car."
Shuttle Service to DIA: Being an off-airport location, the provision of a shuttle service from DIA is a necessary feature, and reviews suggest "no issues waiting for the shuttle," which is a basic operational highlight for this model.
Helpful Check-In Staff (Some Experiences): While some counter experiences are noted as negative, there's a positive mention of a "different employee who was kind when we checked the car back in and ensured we weren’t charged more for damages" (Dennis A.). This suggests that some staff members are indeed focused on positive customer interactions and fair service, particularly at drop-off.
Important Considerations (Based on Customer Reviews): It is crucial for potential renters to be aware of the following points, which are frequently highlighted in customer feedback and can significantly impact the overall rental experience:
Pressure to Purchase Additional Coverage/Extras: Numerous reviews emphasize "scare tactics" and "heavy pressure" from counter representatives to purchase additional insurance ("standard" or "complete" options not clearly explained), toll passes ("well there is a toll to exit ACE rental car," which is disputed by a customer), and fuel. Customers advise declining these if you have your own coverage or plan to use alternative methods.
Discrepancies in Quoted vs. Final Price: Several reviews mention the "price was extremely off from what my reservation was" or being "charged another $639" with a refund coming later, leading to frustration and unexpected costs. Careful verification of the contract before signing is highly recommended.
Vehicle Condition: Concerns about vehicle cleanliness and pre-existing damage are noted, with cars being "very dirty with dirt spots on the interior" and having "significant hail damage and other damage on the front bumper." Customers strongly advise taking "lots of videos and pictures" to document the car's condition upon pickup to avoid disputes over pre-existing damage.
Counter Service Experience: Some customers describe the counter representatives as "not conversational," "rude," "frustrated," "not professional," and "not very friendly service," particularly when declining optional coverages. This contrasts with experiences at other rental companies known for high-touch service.
Customer Service at Corporate Level (Potential Positive): One review noted that "Corporate was very helpful though when I talked to them on the phone to confirm my new contract and price." This suggests that while local counter experiences can be challenging, there might be avenues for resolution through their corporate customer service.

For Colorado residents considering ACE Rent A Car at 6130 N Jackson Gap Way in Aurora, near Denver International Airport (DIA), its primary suitability lies in its potential for highly competitive and often very affordable initial pricing. For locals who are strictly prioritizing the lowest possible upfront rental cost for their transportation needs, ACE can certainly appear as an attractive option, especially when found through online booking aggregators.
The fact that it’s an off-site location with a shuttle service means it provides access to DIA without being subjected to the potentially higher operating costs of on-airport car rental facilities, which can translate into savings for the customer. The extensive operating hours (6 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week) also offer flexibility for travelers with early morning or late-night flights out of DIA.
However, it is crucial for Colorado locals choosing ACE to enter this experience with a clear understanding of potential challenges. Due diligence is paramount:
Be prepared to firmly decline optional add-ons: Based on multiple reviews, be ready to refuse any additional insurance, toll passes, or prepaid fuel if you have your own coverage or alternative plans. Understand that counter agents may be persistent.
Thoroughly inspect the vehicle: Document every scratch, dent, and interior imperfection with detailed photos and videos before leaving the lot. This step is critical to avoid potential disputes over pre-existing damage upon return.
Verify the final contract price: Cross-reference the final amount on the contract with your initial reservation, and question any discrepancies before signing. Ensure all unwanted add-ons have been removed.
In summary, for the budget-savvy Colorado local who is prepared to be assertive at the counter and meticulously document the vehicle's condition, ACE Rent A Car offers a very economical choice for car rental near DIA. It requires a proactive approach from the customer to ensure the advertised low price translates into the final cost, but for those willing to navigate these aspects, it can indeed provide an affordable way to secure transportation in the Denver metropolitan area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Beware of hidden fees and scare tactics! This was my first experience using ACE rental car and I was extremely disappointed. Had no issues waiting for the shuttle or waiting in line for a representative. When I got to the counter, the representative was not conversational and basically just said “sign here” 4 times. I have rented in the past and know to beware of additional coverage and insurance, which I did not need. The representative only gave me the only options of “standard” or “complete” and did not explain what each coverage entailed. I chose standard because I thought that was the option of using your own insurance. If renting from this company, do not be fooled by this and decline both options and use your own insurance. Or, hopefully you will have a nicer agent that will explain options to you and not coerce you into purchasing unnecessary coverage. The price was extremely off from what my reservation was so I went back into the location to change my contract to remove the insurance which the agent gave me a hard time about. This was the worst part about the experience. He asked me rudely “Who is gonna pay for this when the car is damaged?” And I stated that I had insurance and the car would not be damaged. He gave me some more misleading information about how Colorado is a loss/damages state and my insurance would only cover up to a certain car model (a scare tactic which is not true with my type of insurance). He also tried to scare me into purchasing a toll pass and fuel. He stated “well there is a toll to exit ACE rental car” which is not true and stated that gas is more expensive than what they offer (another scare tactic, got it for 2.55/gal down the road). Very easily avoidable tolls with using gps. I had to ask multiple times for him to remove all of the optional coverage, which he was frustrated and not professional about doing. The agent left off his name from my contract so I don’t even remember his name. The car we received was also very dirty with dirt spots on the interior of the car and mud on the steering wheel after wiping it off (see photos). Lots of damage on these cars so make sure to take lots of videos and pictures. Corporate was very helpful though when I talked to them on the phone to confirm my new contract and price. Dennis A. was a different employee who was kind when we checked the car back in and ensured we weren’t charged more for damages. Better to spend the extra money on a reliable brand like budget or enterprise!
May 21, 2025 · Sydney LewisThe online experience to reserve was great - policies and price seemed very good. I even paid extra to get a premium car. Unfortunately, what I received was a rent-a-wreck. Had damage all over the car including significant hail damage and other damage on the front bumber. The pix they took when I was leaving missed some parts so I'm worried I'll have to fight extra fees for pre-existing damage. Also, per other comments, their counter service was heavy pressure to buy toll pass - overall not very friendly service. I was pushed for time or I would have just found another rental car company to rent from.
Mar 25, 2025 · Ken LeeReserving was easy. High pressure up-sales once I arrived. Counter attendant was not friendly. “ You have a “x” car reserved. Would you like something more comfortable?” “Would you like the premium insurance? No, I have very good insurance. Well, most people who have insurance usually get the basic insurance. Why? I have good insurance that covers everything. Because if anything happens we come after you and your insurance won’t protect you. Our contracts are clear about this.” I was very uncomfortable. Thought I had made a big mistake. If you can reserve with a typical company I would. Car was adequate but a little scratched up. I paid to have cost of gas I used replaced. I filled the tank but was still charged almost $40 for fuel. Shuttle service was quick but again, driver was not pleasant. Seemed unhappy to be there.
Jul 05, 2025 · David GearyVery helpful and set me up with an upgrade to what I was supposed to get. Never driven a Jeep and well helps me answer if I’d buy one later. Manager was very helpful in my situation. The guy at the counter I under stand is just doing his job.
Mar 19, 2025 · Rock NuggetsThis was the absolute worst car rental experience for me. The employees at this location are so unmotivated, rude and lacking the most basic customer service skills that it is shocking how this car rental company is still in business. It is as if the employees at this place purposely try to make car rental experience for its customers as unpleasant and painful as possible. For example, take a look at this high-class and eager-to-help "worker" playing on his phone without any regard for customers waiting to be served. AVOID THIS PLACE!
