ACO Rent A Car Introduce
For Texans, particularly those in the bustling Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, accessing reliable and affordable transportation is often a top priority. Whether it's for business travel originating from DFW Airport, a family vacation starting in the heart of North Texas, or simply needing a temporary vehicle while yours is in the shop, car rental services play a crucial role. While major national brands dominate the DFW Airport Rental Car Center, there are also independent and off-airport providers like ACO Rent A Car that aim to offer competitive rates and alternative solutions.
ACO Rent A Car, located at 2420 Innovation Dr, DFW Airport, TX 75261, USA, positions itself as an option for travelers looking for potentially more budget-friendly rates near one of the busiest airports in the country. It's important for local users to understand that off-airport rental companies often operate differently from the on-site, consolidated rental car center. This distinction can impact various aspects of the rental experience, from pick-up logistics to vehicle condition and customer service. This article aims to provide a factual and informative overview of ACO Rent A Car from a local Texan's perspective, drawing on available public information and customer feedback to help users make an informed decision for their transportation needs.
ACO Rent A Car is located at 2420 Innovation Dr, DFW Airport, TX 75261, USA. This address places it in the immediate vicinity of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), but importantly, it is an off-airport location. Unlike the major rental companies housed directly within the DFW Airport Rental Car Center, ACO Rent A Car operates from a separate facility. For travelers arriving at DFW Airport, this typically means that instead of taking a shuttle directly to the main Rental Car Center, they would need to arrange for a separate pick-up service provided by ACO.
According to general information about off-airport rentals, customers would usually call the company upon arrival at the airport's designated pick-up zones (often outside baggage claim) to arrange for a shuttle or direct pick-up by an ACO representative. This logistical step is a key difference compared to the seamless shuttle service to the consolidated on-airport center. For local Texans driving to pick up a rental, the location on Innovation Drive is generally accessible via the complex network of roads around DFW Airport, connected by major highways like State Highway 183 and State Highway 114. However, customers should be aware that the pick-up process may involve waiting for a driver and a potentially less streamlined transfer to the rental vehicle. It's always advisable to confirm pick-up instructions and be prepared for off-site arrangements, particularly when dealing with non-traditional airport rental services.
ACO Rent A Car, like other car rental providers, aims to offer a range of services to meet various customer needs, often emphasizing affordability:
- Vehicle Rental: The core service involves renting out vehicles for temporary use. While specific models may vary, they typically offer a range from economy cars to potentially larger sedans or SUVs, depending on their fleet availability.
- Off-Airport Pick-up: As an off-airport location, ACO provides a pick-up service from DFW Airport, where a company representative collects customers from designated airport zones and transports them to their off-site office or directly to the rental car.
- Deposit Requirement: It is standard for rental companies, especially those dealing with debit card rentals, to require a security deposit. ACO has been noted by customers to require deposits (e.g., $150), which are intended to cover incidentals, fuel, or potential damage.
- Rental Agreement: Customers sign a rental agreement outlining the terms, conditions, and charges, including rental fees, insurance options, and deposit policies. Some reviews suggest this agreement might be facilitated via platforms like PayPal for payment.
- Fuel Policy: Like most rental companies, ACO would have a fuel policy, typically requiring the vehicle to be returned with the same fuel level as picked up, or charges may apply. One customer mentioned receiving a vehicle with a half-tank and being charged for not returning it full.
- Emphasis on Budget-Friendliness: ACO Rent A Car often positions itself as a more economical choice compared to major on-airport rental agencies. This can be a key draw for Texans looking to save on their travel expenses.
- Off-Airport Operation: A defining feature is its off-airport location, which necessitates a separate pick-up and drop-off process involving a company driver or shuttle. This can be less convenient than direct airport terminal access.
- Vehicle Condition and Age Concerns: Customer reviews frequently highlight concerns about the condition and age of the vehicles. Reports mention cars being "horrible condition," "2013 with over 190,000 miles," "making noises," and even missing basic components like a "gas cap." Renters should be prepared for older vehicles that may show significant wear and tear.
- Deposit Refund Issues: A recurring and significant concern raised by multiple customers is difficulty or failure to receive deposit refunds. This is a critical point for any potential renter to consider, as it can lead to unexpected financial burdens.
- Vehicle Documentation and Inspection: Due to reported issues like expired dealer plates or undisclosed damage, it is absolutely essential for renters to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle (inside and out, including the roof) before accepting it and to photograph/video its condition from all angles. Documenting existing damage and checking the license plate validity are crucial steps.
- Customer Service Communication: Some reviews suggest challenges with customer service responsiveness, with reports of calls being unanswered or representatives acting as "just the answering company." This implies that resolving issues post-rental might be difficult.
- Payment Method Specifics: The mention of signing agreements through PayPal suggests a less traditional payment processing method than major rental companies, which some customers found made deposit recovery more challenging.
- Reliability for Local Transportation: One customer mentioned needing the car for "local transportation," implying that despite the issues, the vehicle might still serve basic mobility needs if other options are limited or more expensive.

For Texans seeking car rental services near DFW Airport, ACO Rent A Car at 2420 Innovation Dr offers an alternative to the major on-site agencies, often with the appeal of potentially lower prices. However, it is crucial for local users to approach this option with a comprehensive understanding of the experiences reported by other customers. While the idea of a budget-friendly rental near a major transportation hub is attractive, the recurring concerns regarding vehicle condition, potential expired plates, undisclosed damage, and especially the difficulty in retrieving security deposits, warrant careful consideration.
For a Texan needing a rental, particularly for essential local transportation, the lower upfront cost might seem appealing. However, the potential for unexpected charges, issues with vehicle quality, and challenges in obtaining deposit refunds could ultimately outweigh any initial savings. If choosing ACO Rent A Car, it is absolutely vital to be proactive: conduct an exhaustive inspection of the vehicle (inside and out, top to bottom, documenting with photos/videos), verify all paperwork, understand the full deposit refund process, and be prepared for a less conventional pick-up and drop-off experience. By being fully informed and meticulously documenting every step of the rental, Texans can better navigate the options available and make the best decision for their specific car rental needs in the DFW area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If I can give zero I would! The car I got was a 2013 with over 190,000 miles on it! It made noises Also I never got my deposit ($150) back. The car was in horrible condition and the plate was a dealer plate that was already expired. The gas cap was missing! Scammers they pick you up at the airport then have you sign an agreement through PayPal and this makes it harder to get your deposit back! They drop you by the car and leave you so by the time you realize how bad is the vehicle they are gone. I personally needed the car for local transportation so I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it! Again I never got my $150 back.
Jan 03, 2025 · Amin JThis was by far the dirtiest trashiest rental car I have ever seen. They also delivered the vehicle with 1/2 a tank of gas and are trying to charge me for 1/2 being gone when I returned it with more than half. Also, you will have a hell of a time getting your deposit back. They also use the return vehicles from others to pick up and drop Off customers. While being picked up, we could not exit the airport until another driver showed up with a credit card to pay the toll. When you call, Marcus will answer and act as though he is just the answering company. I found them through Hopper. STAY AWAY
Sep 08, 2022 · Leonard EscuderoOne of the worst experience in car rental company I’ve been picked up a stranger. No, I identify himself told me to get in the car . It was smoker. They don’t have a courtesy to clean the car in the car himself steering wheels going off the road Nissan Sentra and scratch everywhere. I parked the car for two days. I use another method I return it early .please stay away from this company. You will regret it.
Jun 18, 2024 · SKINDER HaileDO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.Booked and picked up April 7, 2023Waited over 40 minutes to be picked up from the airport to be driven back to the "Atrium" hotel on Innovation Drive to finalize the rental and make payment (in the parking lot). The whole time, I felt weird but then reasoned that this must be legit since I rented through Edreams. I had good experiences with Edreams in the past to reason this way.Get the (166k miles) car to our destination and notice a huge oil stain on the ground. We attempted to contact the company for a refund and got a voicemail. Finally, a day later, we got someone, Marcus, who then had "Wendy" contact us to arrange the drop off. Calls were screened as they didn't answer as we made our way to the "Atrium" Hotel. We pull up, no resolution from "Marcus" to issue a refund for a car that wasn't safe to drive. We technically left it parked until we could return it. No paperwork. Nothing. My family is also stuck with paying the fee to remove the oil stain before their association fines them.I find it difficult to accept that I was taken advantage of. I'm fighting this through my credit card company as we speak.
Apr 13, 2023 · Domonique FranklinThis rental car company deserves zero stars. It's located in an office building in Euless, not where all the DFW rental agencies are located. You never actually enter the building, all business was completed in the parking lot. They were supposed to pick us up when our flight arrived at DFW, but we waited an hour for them after calling them twice and being told they were minutes away. They picked us up in a car that was falling apart: the AC wasn't cold, the windows were filthy, it had a little over a quarter tank of gas, the road noise made it seem like the windows were down when you drove, and the maintenance light was on. When we finally made it to their "office/parking lot", we were told our rental car wasn't available yet but we could wait an hour and it should be there. We didn't have an hour so we took the car they picked us up in.When it was time to return the car to their "office/parking lot", I called and woke the gentleman up to take us to the airport. He looked homeless and smelled the same. I've tried to get the $150 deposit back and same as the other reviewers, I was told it was credited back to my card on August 28th, it's now October 14th and I've called repeatedly with no call back. I disputed the charge with my bank and they gave up also.Save yourself the hassle and just pay extra to rent from a known agency.
