Later in the day, I found that, with the windows closed, the car smelled like cigarette smoke. I also found the back floor mats covered in dog hair. I am allergic to both, so I went back to swap it out.I didn't see the filth in the next vehicle (only 8k miles) until I was out in the daylight the following day. Photos are attached. I did not have any more time to deal with Alamo, so I cleaned off the seats with a rag from the hotel and tried to live with the rest.When I returned it to White Plains, Ciro, a management trainee, thought the car was gross and said they would help with the charges and would call me. I gave him the rag I had used to clean the seats. He called while I was in the air but left no message.I called and left 2 messages for him but never heard back. Then I spoke with Maddie, one of the managers at HPN. She said she would email. After not hearing from her and leaving a message for her, I am really irritated.I also left a message for Angelo, the manger at Stamford. Surprisingly, this scion of customer service has not returned my call.Stamford rents out disgusting vehicles and should be ashamed of themselves. Customers deserve better.Never in all my hundreds of car rentals have I seen such a grossly neglected vehicle.UPDATE: my next rental went terrifically, thanks to Arturo and Mike at this location.

The manager completely disregarded our prior reservation and left me and my two kids without a rental car the day of our trip because our flight was delayed. I encourage you to do business with an organization that is more responsive to their client’s travel needs and situations.

I do not expect the rental car to look like the protective plastic just has been removed, but I also was not going to drive for hours in a car with dirty windows, dusty interior and food crumbs all over the seats. So I went ahead and cleaned it myself for Alamo... for free. Personally, I've had rented older cars that were cleaner than that. Alamo, you can do better )))Also should have removed another start for Alamo dropping the NRA discount and disrespecting all of the legal and law-abiding gun owners.

There was no car available for my departure time. 15 minutes later I received a call from Angelo with good news. Car upgrade on a brand new Chevy Malibu. Pushed out on time. I don't own a domestic auto but this Malibu was a pleasant surprise. I was hitting 50MPG at times on a long haul road trip and averaged nearly 40mpg for the entire journey. Only filled up one time on a 1000 mile run. The Malibu reached nearly 600 miles on a full tank of gas. Very comfortable drive and enjoyed Carplay the entire trip. Navigation was a breeze. Kudos to Angelo for making this road trip a complete success.
