★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I gave this location one star but I would give it a negative amount of stars if I could. I had a reservation to pick up a car at this location at 5pm. Online hours and the hours posted on the DOOR of this location say they are open until 5:30pm. I arrived at this location before 5pm and they were closed. I contacted the customer service number listed and during the first call the agent hung up. I called back and the agent at first could not find my reservation until I asked for a supervisor. She found the reservation but said she could not help and told me to look online. I was standing in front of the closed store and told her she could search online for me, which she did. However she told me that the closest location was the airport and they would open on Saturday (tomorrow) at 8am. However she clearly does not know how to read or does not understand the the airport is listed as being open everyday until 1AM. I called the airport location to confirm they were in fact open. The number I dialed automatically transferred me to customer service in "Minnesota" no matter which option I selected. I asked to speak to a supervisor who later informed me that she is "only a supervisor for reservations" and could not guarantee the location was actually open and would not guarantee the original price for the car I reserved. Any adjustments have to be escalated to customer service tomorrow. And no they do not call you, I was informed I would have to call them!! So to recap, a location can close and not have to contact anyone who has a reservation. Customer service in "Minnesota" cannot do anything to assist you. I would have to drive an hour round trip to the airport to confirm if they were really open and yes they charge a higher deposit (which I was already aware they do if you are not flying in or out of the airport) and they will not honor a reservation price even though the Avis location was not open to provide the car that I reserved. And oh yeah they did not allow me to use a one day free rental which I asked if I could use if I pick up the same car on Saturday. I was told it was a "future" rental and arguably since the location was closed, if I picked up a car the next day it is a "future" rental. I have never had this bad of service and even for AVIS this a new low!

After telling them how upset we were and how we really needed one, we get a call the next morning that one had come available. Unfortunately, it was not only very dirty inside, but i questioned where it came from and was told from the “maintenance lot”. I asked to see paperwork showing that this vehicle was safe to drive for a very long distance trip and was refused. And would not be told why it was there and what was wrong with it. Safety and cleanliness is my first priority for my family and this company cared neither for that. Now we are very late for our trip and trying to squeeze into a very compact car for a very long trip. Awful service.

Bought some lysol which alleviated some of the smell, but still not great. Nobody answers the phone there, probably makes sense after all of the experiences that I'm seeing on their Google reviews. Just shocked that with the price of the rental and all of the demands about returning a clean car, this is what was provided for me. I will be returning it and don't plan on utilizing their services anymore. I will be telling all family/friends to stay away from this company.

Jan 06, 2025 · Dineen EtienneWell, this was one of the better rentals from Avis lately, as you can tell by my rating, that I've had a lot of issues with Avis. I reserved a premium SUV on the 5th for my work trip on the 10th. Got there at my reservation time of 730am and they informed me that my rental wasn't here and he would see when it would be there. Apparently they had no drivers to drive the vehicles over the weekend to the site and that it would be about an hour before it gets there. No good at all as i had work to get to. He offered up a Grand Cherokee which was okay, i just wanted to have more room for my passengers for the 6 hrs drive we needed to drive. The truck only had 9000 miles on it so there wasn't much chance of it being screwed up like my other avis rentals. Got in the car and it had 40 miles left until empty, my agreement didn't list fuel level so i had to walk back in and they told me some businesses have a contract to bring it back empty and they don't have a gas station. Superb. They wrote me up a new agreement with the gas empty and told me to bring it back empty again. I mean i could have brought it back full and you credit me, but instead it's gonna screw someone else over. During all this i paid my normal rate for this inconvenience, no discount or anything offered. Avis is the spirit airline of the rental world, i think it's time to move away from them.
