The Avis counter was closed so everyone had to pile into the by small budget office and getting a car took over an hour. Initially, I was expecting to take a shuttle from the cruise ship terminal to the office but after a long wait I decided to take an Uber. The directions were not clear on where to go once you’re outside your cruise. Upon calling it gives a recording that makes it seem easier than it is.

Apparently it's OK to give a renter a low charge vehicle but not okay to return a car that way. We returned it full to not slight the next user.There was no adapter to use the Ford Mach with a Tesla Supercharger.Found a portable communion cup (filled!) and wafer in the backseat with lots of other random food crumbs. This may be a message to me after this experience to seek some help.

But even after waiting 1.5 hours there was not a single shuttle in sight. And if you try calling their facility it goes to automated message that keeps on repeating.When you try to complain to customer service, it goes to their main office and they have no clue of what is going on in this locationWhen you complain to the manager, he says that there are 2 shuttles running, but even after staying in the rental facility, you don’t even see one coming back from port.Another thing is that even if you have reserved for about way in advance of a time long before, when you reach the facility this is no vehicle available and have to wait for another 30-40 mins.I repeat, do not reserve for a rental in this facility

We were given a defective unsafe vehicle with service lights on the dash. It’s pouring rain and the car had no stability control. It was sliding all over the road. I have my whole family of 6 in the car. When we went to the branch and told the manager he didn’t care. He said he was closing in less than an hour and didn’t have any cars to give us. He told us to drive the unsafe vehicle to the airport and see if they can help us. The vehicle has bald tires and the wires are showing through. We haven’t even had the car an hour. Welcome to Miami!!!!! I will never be renting a car from this location again and would advise you to avoid them as well. The worst rental car customer service I have ever received and the worst vehicle condition!

Firstly a shuttle is advertised from the cruise port this doesn’t show up, like many reviews below we waited nearly an hour and had to get an Uber in the end. No staff knew where to wait for collection either, everyone told us different stops and nothing helpful on the website. We waited by the exit which all vehicle exit out of so could see nothing came during our waiting time.On arrival after queuing for abit the staff were rude to my partner and said no car would be available for at least 45 minutes. We had the car booked from 10am on a day hire and this was just before 12pm (after shuttle issues and queuing). We saw people come in and book cars on the spot and walk away with keys multiple times as we waited. They definitely had cars they could have given us but prioritised new customers.After asking the staff politely to explain what the issues were so we could understand I was addressed by one of the rudest people I’ve ever spoken to - she didn’t listen, rolled their eyes and just stated we arrive at 12 so our booking started then, didn't care we had booked from 10am or about the shuttle issue. No apology, no explanation, no customer service, no compensation just pure attitude, rudeness and contempt.We were on a day hire which cost an insane amount (also more than we booked for) compared to the customers on longer rentals who purchased on the spot for $13 per day. The cost was more than adversities and the staff tried to charge us for an additional whole tank of petrol with nearly $100 dollars of hidden fees. With no explanation/breakdown and treated my partner with contempt when he questioned that this was different from advertised.After finally getting some keys they gave us no information to help find the car. We were told to walk around a public car park pressing a button to find it. Tried for ages and couldn’t find it so managed to recognise a staff member who we had to chase down and he told us the button was a hold not a press so we finally were able to located the car. The car was dirty and had a cracked windscreen on collection.Honestly the stress, terrible service and rudeness of the server ruined the day/took hours away from our last day plans which we had to shorten. Just do not use them! Personally I have never used Avis before and won’t ever again. Also emailed with no response so very much must feel Avis finds this acceptable and is the standard experience their customers have.For other cruise people looking to car hire go to the airport to get a car from another company there are loads of shuttles from the terminal and much MUCH better companies. I will be informing Virgin as well encase they can help stop others from using this terrible service.
