I picked up my rental car yesterday and have already asked to return it to a different location so I don’t have to go back to this one:1.) The absolute ball of sunshine at the counter (sarcasm) was one of the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with. She has no business being in an occupation dealing with customers. My presence, along with two others she didn’t even acknowledge, were prohibiting her from eating her Ruffles so maybe that’s why she was so rude, I’m really not sure.2.) In spite of the fact that my rental was booked 2+ weeks in advance, me calling to confirm I had a vehicle and that it would be ready beforehand, and showing up after the requested pick up time, the vehicle still had to be vacuumed. I was so annoyed by sunshine’s attitude that I said I’d take it without vacuum.3.) Two things I didn’t notice until after I was on the road - fuel tank was not full even though she marked it as full (was just under 3/4) and the front left of the car had damage.4.) The cherry on top - I go to start my vehicle today and it won’t start. Doesn’t warrant a jump - I have to wait for tow truck to come out and get it and then be taken to get a replacement car.I see why this location has the ratings it does.
Jul 08, 2025 · NicoleI’ll join the majority here and say this was a very disappointing experience with Avis. I usually pick Avis because they had yet to disappoint me. We rented a 12-passenger van for a week-long vacation so all of our family could ride together.First, when I was waiting my turn to receive my vehicle, there was a couple before me also renting a car. When the representative got their car he noted there was an issue that had to be addressed. The issue was that the car they received was riddled with trash from fast food places. There was about six different containers plus matching cups left in the vehicle. I watched as the Avis rep emptied everything from the car into a parking lot trash can.Now I’m up. Even though I prepaid for the vehicle using my credit card which includes rental car coverage, I still had to pay a $250 deposit on the rental because even though my card covered rental cars, I still had to pay a fee. Of course it would be reimbursed, but I find it a bit silly this is still a practice in 2024.I get the keys and he tells me we don’t have to do the walk through pre inspection due to my credit card’s insurance. You should read my last paragraph again. Makes even less sense now, right?I head out to the van and it smells horrendous. Like rotten cheese and bodily fluids. I take a look inside the van and there is a used spoon in the floor. The seats are stained as well as the headliner. It was obvious that the vehicle had not been cleaned…probably ever. Trash, dirt, goo, everything you could imagine all over the place on the inside. I spent and hour just trying to clean the car to an acceptable level before I’d even let my family in it.I also found a sticker on the door window for a barber shop, the top of the van was dented in where it looks like someone hit something down the entire length. The rear door had a huge dent in it as well. Making it worse, the left rear tire was overinflated by 30 psi and as soon as I start the van it showed it had no windshield washer fluid.By far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with Avis.

Finally someone came in and helped the two parties in front of me - both left without cars due to issues not related to Avis. It was finally my turn and the agent pulled up my reservation and said they didn’t have any cars. I said I’d take a car in a different category - I had been dropped off by Uber and didn’t want to spend another $20 to get me back without wheels- but they said they didn’t have any cars at all. I asked about the cars the other two parties left without, her reply was she wouldn’t have had cars for them either. Had to get an Uber to Enterprise. Save yourself the headache and expense and just book with someone else. Budget is at the same location - also no cars for Budget reservations.

I understand rental car inventory can fluctuate on when someone returns a car and a car might not be available although I clearly have a reservation and time of pick up but the lack of customer service at this location is beyond the pale. I had a reservation at 9am, I did not get to the rental car location until 10am. The female associate behind the counter never greeted me upon arrival. I stated my name and that I had a reservation. She never acknowledges anything. She looks at a clip board and turns some pages, then goes to the computer and looks at more stuff. Then asks if I booked today - I state no, I booked yesterday. She states well you booked after we were closed, no cars until 1pm. That's it - and still has not looked at me. No apology, no sorry for the inconveinence, nothing. At the very least, I would expect an associate to arrive, look at the reservations, look at the cars in inventory, and if there is a reservation that there is no car for, to call and let the person with the reservation know. So simple. This associate behind the counter needs to find a job that does not require interaction between people. If she cannot embrace her job, find another one, she is miserable. I was so put off by the whole experience, I just told her to cancel the reservation, that did not bother her either. At least down the street at Enterprise, they are friendly.

When we arrived to pick it up the agent said they only had an SUV and we would have to pay for an upgrade. His explanation for not providing a free upgrade when they didn’t have the car we reserved was because they require reservations to be booked 24 hours prior (no mention of this anywhere when booking online). We actually made the reservation the day before picking up, but regardless this makes no sense and is terrible service. If they can’t manage their fleet to ensure customers are provided the vehicle they reserved then at the very least they should upgrade them to the next available size for free. Even if we would have been provided that option we were still going to have to pay more for fuel on an SUV that we did not request. I would not recommend this location!
