One customer praised a "lady at the front" for being "very knowledgeable and quick to help us," noting that she "was doing it all," including washing cars. This suggests a dedicated and hardworking team that values customer service, providing fast and friendly assistance.
Convenient Downtown Access: Its location on Church Street makes it highly accessible for Nashville residents, offering an urban pick-up and drop-off point that circumvents the need to travel to the airport, which can be particularly convenient for daily or short-term rentals.

However, it's also important to address certain customer feedback that highlights potential challenges. One review recounts a highly negative experience involving a pre-paid reservation not being honored due to an after-hours arrival, leading to hostility from a staff member, an additional cost of $170 for rebooking at another location (the North 1st Street branch), and significant inconvenience with Uber costs. This incident underscores the critical importance of explicitly confirming the specific branch's after-hours pick-up policies and understanding how reservations are handled in such situations, particularly for pre-paid bookings. While the positive feedback about specific staff members is encouraging, this negative experience points to a potential inconsistency in policy application or communication, emphasizing the need for customers to verify all details directly with the branch.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The lady at the front was very knowledgeable and quick to help us. Didn't have to wait more than a few minutes, considering there were two other people she helped before us. Then, as we were leaving, we saw her washing the cars. She was doing it all.
Jul 09, 2025 · Shawn HansenI'd give zero stars if that was an option. I booked a car to pick up at the Church St. Nashville location weeks ahead of time. My flight came in a little late, so by the time I arrived, the shop was closed. I called the office number and got an automated message that my reservation would be held for 24 hours. Because I was nervous, I also called the main Budget 800 # and spoke with a real human who confirmed this. The following day, I showed up and was treated with total hostility by the man at the counter who said this wasn't true, that he only holds cars for one hour, and that he had nothing for me. (Even said, mockingly, that I could come back on July 16 if I wanted a car — this was June 23!) When I demonstrated that the car was pre-paid and pleaded about what I should do, he reluctantly told me I could call another local Budget location to see if they had cars. They did (and were VERY GRACIOUS and apologetic at the North 1st Street location). I then spent a fair amount of time calling back the main Budget # to rebook, which they did — but at an expense of an additional $170.So, now I was out that money plus the money for the two Ubers back and forth from my Airbnb, as well as the third I was about to have to pay for to get to the new Budget location. That, plus missing a day of the car rental and being treated with contempt means that even with the much better treatment at the North 1st Street location, I will never book with Budget again.
Jul 08, 2025 · Anne PinkertonHidden Fees, Poor Communication, and a Broken SystemI had a terrible experience at this Budget location. I booked a rental car through their app for a week at $447. I’m 23, nearly 24, and the app never asked for my age—not during the booking process, not in any dropdown, and not even in the final confirmation. When I arrived at the location on time, I was told they had no cars available—even though my reservation was confirmed. I was advised to wait until 11 a.m. when cars might become available. I waited patiently, hoping for a resolution. When I finally got to the counter, I was told the price had jumped to $861 because of a young driver fee and a $200 deposit.None of this was communicated up front. Their customer service told me “it’s in the terms and conditions,” but nothing was visible during booking. That’s misleading at best. I wasted my entire morning, walking around in the heat from airport to city locations just trying to get a basic rental.Even worse, when I initially searched for their customer service number online, I accidentally got a scammer pretending to be Budget, asking me to go to a store and buy a card. Thankfully, I realized it wasn’t legit before giving out any information—but this all happened because Budget’s own systems are so unclear and disorganized. This experience was exhausting, expensive, and completely avoidable with a bit of honest communication. Unless I get some kind of resolution, I won’t ever be doing business with Budget again.
Jun 02, 2025 · Yusuf XazirovBlatant Disrespect from Rental StaffI showed up at the rental office at 10:00 AM for a reservation that had been confirmed for 7:30 AM. As soon as I walked in, the attendant told me they didn’t have any cars at the moment and that he was “waiting on cars”—an immediate red flag.By 10:30 AM, other customers who arrived after me were being helped, so I rightfully asked about my reservation. His response was instantly defensive: “You were late. I’m serving people who were on time.”I was shocked—not just by what he said, but by how hostile he was from the very start. A customer ahead of me even pointed out that if my reservation was for 7:30, a car should have been ready. Several others around me apologized for being served before me.Then at 10:50 AM, someone with a 12 PM reservation—who was clearly early—was called up and served. I mentioned their reservation time and how early arrivals are usually told to wait (not late ones), and again, the attendant snapped: “I’m not going to argue with you.” That couple also ended up apologizing to me before they left.By 11:00 AM, the excuses started shifting. Suddenly, he claimed my reservation was “last minute,” even though it had been confirmed the day before. Then he said I had already been told I was waitlisted—by someone I had never spoken to.The final blow? He told me my car wouldn’t be available until 5:00 PM that afternoon.Meanwhile, I could see cars being returned to the lot. There were only two customers left in the office, and yet he was doing everything possible not to give me a car. When I asked why they’d confirm a reservation they couldn’t honor, he said flatly: “You can go somewhere else.”At that point, I reached out to customer service. And while I was still on the phone with them, I watched another customer—who had made a reservation that very morning—get helped with no issue. My reservation was made the day before. It couldn’t have been more obvious: this attendant had a problem with me from the start and was determined not to rent me a car. As a Fast Track member, instead of apologizing for the delay or even honoring my complimentary upgrade, his fragile ego got in the way.Thankfully, customer service redirected me to a nearby location. I arrived, and within five minutes, I was on the road in an upgraded vehicle—no drama, no issue, just professional service.I hope that agent finds some healing from whatever made him feel so small in life.
May 07, 2025 · RHorrible experience. My friend booked a car we showed up to retrieve the car rental after making a booking online. The man at the counter told us he had nothing available. He did not have the car we booked. He was extremely dismissive he would not honor an alternative, or do anything to make the situation right. He got in his car went home, and left us stranded outside. We are now at Budget at the airport they let us know that this location is privately owned, and that’s probably why we were treated this way.
