I went to pick it up and they tell me that they are cleaning it and it'll be a few minutes, which was no problem. The lady with dark hair at the front desk was awful, rude, and simply should not be an employee. The girl that used to work there with lighter hair was always wonderful. I used to tell everyone to rent from Avis because we always had great experiences. I previously wrote a 5 star review. However, this time was the complete opposite..After waiting 15 minutes for them to "clean" the car, the lady gave me the key and said, "it's right out there in the parking lot." I thought to myself that's weird, they usually walk around the vehicle with you to check for damage.. She then tells me if there's any damage to come back in and tell them. So, I walk out and there's a lot of damage, including the top of the hood completely bent up. I have never seen a rental car with damage like that before. So, I take pictures and walk back inside. I said, "did you see the hood on that van, it's completely bent up!" She then says in rude voice, "it's a rental car with 60,000 miles, it's going to have damage." She then tells me to mark it on the paper myself. Im pretty sure that's her job to mark the damage on the vehicle paper, but I went ahead and documented the damage on the paper myself. I walked back out and got into the van and started it. I was waiting for the it to warm up a little and I started looking around. This van was disgusting.. the floors were so dirty, there was trash in door and on the floors. That was just the few seconds that I looked around. We are about to take this car on vacation, so I went back in and told her it wasnt clean. She was so rude and said ill go clean it myself. She then got in the mini van and floored this van doing at least 35mph around the parking lot. About 10 minutes later, some other employee brings me the key. When I got back in the van, all they had done was pick the trash up in the door.. so at this point, I'm like they said they have cleaned this van twice, but clearly, they haven't cleaned it at all. After 45 minutes of me being here, I leave and decide I will just clean it myself..So, after getting home I started to clean this van, which ended up taking us 2.5 hours. It was way worse that I thought. The van smelled like cigarettes and had burn holes in the carpet. The tires were dangerously bald. It had used BBQ cups and melted candy in the cup holders. It had slim jim wrappers, napkins, fake finger nails, sand, and gum stuck to the carpet and seats. The floors were filthy and had a lot of hair all over. There was crumbs and trash in the seats. I have never in my life seen a rental car this disgusting.I ended up calling the 1-800 Budget customer service number to tell them about the situation as soon as i got home from leaving the rental place. That was really no help at all. The lady on the phone just said she would document the damage to van, like the hood. Which I'm glad she did, because it was ridiculous. Im assuming this is just how Avis/Budget operates now, because they didn't act like it was even an issue.We returned the vehicle and cleaned it again before returning it, but of course the same lady didn't even bother checking the vehicle.I will not be renting from Avis/Budget again after this. We ended up having to leave 3.5 hours later than we originally planned from our vacation, because of this rental. This company used to be great, but unfortunately they have really went downhill. I will no longer refer anyone else to this company. Please save your money and time and rent from a different company.

I called last week to let budget know that I would be in at 9 am on day of pickup instead of noon and they said it wouldn't be a problem. I've been receiving text messages telling me to confirm my reservation so I called them today to confirm my reservation was still set. The lady who I believe I spoke to the first time proceeded to tell me that could be a big issue to show up at 9. I explained I called last week to confirm if that would be an issue and was told no. She said we'll it wouldn't have been them. Thus calling me a liar. I explained I believe it was her I talked to and she said "Well have a good day" and hung up. Not sure if I even have a reservation at this point. Tried calling corporate and was given a wait time of greater than 30 min at 10:30 am on a Thursday. Hope I still have a vehicle for spring break

It's completely a waste of time. I asked her why she did that and said, "So what, report it. I don't care. " She is an awful person and should not be in customer service. My vacation is canceled. (Must be Allison from all the negative reviews I missed lol corporate still lets her do this?)

Even though I had booked my car in advance online, it took a long time to get my vehicle.Check in: Returned car on time. Got a call that the car was messy (there was sand on the mats from our vacation) and that I'd be charged a $450 fee if I didn't come back and clean out the car. $450 is definitely excessive for a cleaning fee! I did what I could, and will post an update if I get charged the fee anyway or not. (I DID find one of the kids car seats and a pair of socks while I was vacuuming, which is why I give it a 2 star.)I usually rent from Enterprise, and will go back to them from now. Budget has definitely lost a customer in me.

Went in to pick it up and was told that because I didn't have a major credit card that I couldn't rent the car I already paid for. I was told in a condescending rude way that the debit card policy was all over the website. I told the woman that she was being unnecessarily rude and she should try being a nicer. However I was told that I was being nasty. Yes because I was being told Wrong information! That policy is not posted anywhere on the website and that was confirmed when I called customer service. If I had not already prepaid I would not have rented from this company at all. However I knew it would be a pain to get my money back. Customer service booked another reservation at a different location and I rented a car from that location without a major credit card...
