Upon arrival, I was denied the rental due to the lack of a credit card, despite having a valid debit card and sufficient funds.This experience caused significant emotional distress, transportation hardship, and financial strain. I was forced to pay $50 for an emergency UberXL to return home, simply because I had my bicycle with me. The prices are always good at the LB Airport. Staff is always friendly, and there is usually no lines. However, my only issues is that the cars are usually dirty when picked up. It’s like they just run water over the car but don’t wipe it or clean the windows. So I always have to wash or take the car to get washed. It’s annoying, when you have things to do. These are each different rentals.

One of the worst rental car experiences of my entire life. And I've had some bad ones as much as I travel. Horrible location, poorly run, hour wait in line at a time the airport is empty, no true fastbreak, totally out of cars. Car they gave me reeked of marijuana smoke. Didn't even try to hide it. Apathetic employees who have no urgency. Just a horrible, horribly run operation.

I stopped by Budget today to ask about renting a truck for the week, and wow… I immediately understood why their rating is so low.I accidentally parked in the wrong area (a common mistake for first-timers), and instead of politely informing me, a staff member rudely barked that I couldn’t park there. Fine—I get it, rules are rules—but there’s definitely a better way to communicate with a potential customer.After parking “properly” in the structure, I walked over to the trailer and waited to speak with the woman behind the desk. She was slightly more friendly, but still not exactly welcoming. I explained I was looking to rent a truck for a week. She began checking rates and said they did have trucks available. The weekly price she quoted was over $700—which seemed high, so I told her I had seen the same rental on Expedia for around $300.That’s when things took a turn. The same rude man from earlier suddenly chimed in, loudly saying “We don’t have trucks” while waving me off like I was a nuisance. She then conveniently backtracked and said, “Oh, it actually looks like we don’t have any,” despite what their own site and Expedia showed.So, either they’re being shady or just completely disorganized. Either way—thanks for nothing, Budget. I won’t be back. And if you value your time, money, or basic decency—don’t bother stopping here.

My wife and I did a getaway and had initially reserved a standard full size vehicle. When we got to the rental place, I inquired how much it would be to upgrade to a Mustang and it was very reasonable! Pickup was seamless and so was drop off. This rental place is adjacent to the luggage claim at LGB.
