And had to wait in line outside with literally 100 other people for an hour in 98 degree weather just to get the car keys.But that's not even the worst part of my Budget experience. My rental was supposed to be at a location near downtown, but they told me they had no cars and my only option was to call an 800 number, wait on hold forever, and then be "helped" by someone in a call center who told me this airport location was the only Budget with cars in all of the Denver metro area. Given I had no other choice, I agreed to take the hour-long train ride to the airport to get a car.When I got to the counter to pay, I was told that my reservation amount would be 3x the price I had booked for because of the "modification"--I was never told the price would change.Ultimately, the agent reduced the "base rate" to match the base rate of my reservation, but because it was the airport location there were additional taxes and fees that still cost me over $100 more than my initial booking. They wouldn't do anything about that, and I still don't understand why they couldn't just lower the "base rate" further so that when the taxes were added it equaled the total amount I booked for.The whole ordeal delayed my trip to the western slope by over 3 hours, and yet they still required that I return my car at the original time I had booked, not the time I actually got the car 3 hours later.I contacted customer support and their way to "resolve this matter" was to offer me a "1 day off coupon" for my next rental, which obviously is worthless because I will never use them again. Horrible experience.I've never had a horrible experience with the Hertz or Enterprise locations at the airport or downtown, so I'd strongly recommend looking into them.

There were toddlers, babies and elderly waiting in this heat. It was the same on drop off - waiting in heat for a bus to go back to the airport. Again elderly and kids. They said they didn’t expect the crowds for this weekend. There are reservations that show exactly the foot traffic to expect.

Probably 30 individual rentals in line, 3 Budget employees working at the counter. Over the 45 minutes waiting to finally get through the rental process line, there were easily twice the number of people in line behind me as when I entered the line. To their credit, there were 7-8 Budget employees working the counter by this point. HOWEVER, it was no secret to Budget how many rentals were scheduled to come through and it was a normal weekday morning, not a holiday or special event. There should be better planning of staff to serve the scheduled demand at the rental counter. That being said, the staff handled a terrible situation quite well but the management at this office needs to do better.

I felt horrible for those who were elderly and had babies, as there was nowhere to sit and the majority of the wait was in the 90' sun. Budget does not care about its customers. One customer became very upset and the worker screamed at him, then left to cool off. The manager then came out and yelled at all of us in line to be nicer to her employees. Instead of taking the employees place, the manager stomped off to find the man. Entertaining, sure, but it took one of the 7 workers (with many empty stations) away from an already growing line of people. I don't understand how Budget leadership feels it is ethical to overbook rentals and treat customers like cattle.

After waiting for almost an hour, and going back and forth between the counter and the car assignment booth, the manager simple said… We can’t do anything, since it is holiday and we are busy.I understand that working o holidays, can be frustrating but Customer experience is good for the business.i guess they are on budget! 😜
