Chariot Medical Transportation Introduce
For many residents in California, particularly seniors, individuals with mobility challenges, and those recovering from medical procedures, reliable and safe transportation to and from medical appointments is not just a convenience—it's a necessity. In the sprawling San Fernando Valley, accessing specialized transportation services can be crucial for maintaining health and well-being. Chariot Medical Transportation, located in Northridge, CA, aims to fill this vital need by offering non-emergency medical transport (NEMT) services to the local community. This article will provide an overview of Chariot Medical Transportation, its location, the services it offers, and what local users in California should know about this provider.
Unlike a standard car rental service that provides vehicles for self-drive, Chariot Medical Transportation is dedicated to providing specialized transport for individuals who require assistance getting to medical facilities, doctor's appointments, dialysis centers, rehabilitation, or other healthcare-related destinations. This distinction is vital for understanding their role within the community. Their service is designed to be a bridge, ensuring that patients can safely and comfortably reach their necessary appointments when public transport or personal vehicles are not suitable options due to mobility limitations or medical conditions.
Chariot Medical Transportation is located at 8817 Reseda Blvd, Northridge, CA 91324, USA. Northridge is a significant community within the San Fernando Valley, making this location accessible to a large population base across Los Angeles County. Reseda Boulevard is a major north-south thoroughfare, which generally provides good connectivity for those in Northridge and neighboring areas like Porter Ranch, Granada Hills, Reseda, and Canoga Park.
The address places it within a well-trafficked commercial area, though accessibility might vary depending on the patient's specific needs and the type of vehicle required. For clients, this means that their service will typically pick them up directly from their home or medical facility. As a medical transportation provider, their "accessibility" isn't about clients driving to their office, but rather their ability to reach clients within their service area and provide appropriate vehicle types (e.g., wheelchair-accessible vans) to ensure safe boarding and disembarking. It's always advisable for families or caregivers to confirm specific service area boundaries and pick-up protocols when scheduling transportation.
Chariot Medical Transportation focuses on providing non-emergency medical transport. Based on the nature of such companies, their services typically include:
Ambulatory Transportation: For patients who can walk but may need assistance or supervision to get to and from their appointments. This often involves a driver helping the patient to and from the vehicle.
Wheelchair Transportation: Utilizing specially equipped vans with ramps or lifts to accommodate patients in wheelchairs. These vehicles are designed for the safety and comfort of individuals who cannot transfer from their wheelchair to a standard car seat.
Stretcher/Gurney Transportation: For patients who need to be transported in a lying position, often due to injury, illness, or post-operative recovery. This service typically involves a two-person crew for safe transfer and securement of the gurney.
Transportation to Various Medical Facilities: This includes rides to doctor’s offices, hospitals (for non-emergency admissions or discharges), dialysis centers, physical therapy, rehabilitation facilities, adult day care centers, and other healthcare-related appointments.
Scheduled Appointments: Services are typically pre-booked to ensure punctuality for scheduled medical appointments.
The distinguishing features and highlights of a medical transportation service like Chariot Medical Transportation are crucial for local users:
Specialized Fleet: The company operates vehicles specifically adapted for medical transport, including vans equipped with wheelchair lifts/ramps and securement systems, and potentially vehicles capable of accommodating stretchers.
Assisted Travel: Beyond just driving, the service provides physical assistance to patients, helping them board and exit vehicles, and ensuring they are comfortably and safely secured for the journey. This "door-to-door" or even "bedside-to-bedside" service is invaluable for patients with limited mobility.
Trained Drivers: While customer experiences with individual drivers can vary as noted in reviews, the general expectation for medical transportation is that drivers are trained in patient assistance, first aid, and defensive driving. Some reviews do highlight specific drivers (like Robert, Abraham, and Jacob) as positive aspects of the service, suggesting that some team members are highly competent and compassionate.
Focus on Non-Emergency Needs: This service fills a critical gap between emergency ambulance services and standard ride-share or taxi services, catering specifically to planned medical journeys that require more care than a typical taxi but less urgency than an ambulance.
Addressing Mobility Challenges: For seniors and individuals with disabilities in the Northridge area, Chariot Medical Transportation provides a solution to mobility challenges, enabling them to attend vital medical appointments independently or with less reliance on family members.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If possible I would rate this transportation company in negative numbers. Truly its shocking how this company is still in business. First of all the customer service is horrible. You would assume that someone who has to constantly deal with customers and their grievences would have some basic courtesy for others. But Sam the employee who usually picks up phone is the most arrogant, ignorant, & rude person on the face of the planet. He never helps with any transportation problem and manages to make the problem so much worse. Moreover, they never pick up anyone on time from a medical facilities since most of the drivers are horribly overbooked. Most of their drivers are nice but most speak little or no English whatsoever, don’t wear a mask in the car, and are careless drivers. Whenver you are riding with one their drivers, you truly are holding on for dear life since they will be driving too fast based on the current conditions of the road, excessive lane changing, improper passing, failing to signal and neglecting to stop at a traffic light and or stop signs. Just an accident waiting to happen. Further, some of their cars reek of cigarette smoke as if moments prior someone lit up one and took a drag. Also they will put a couple of patients in a very small and cramped sedan with no regard of COVID guidelines. And not to mention some of their drivers like Robert , Abraham, and Jacob are the only good thing about this company.
Oct 21, 2021 · A HThe worst service ever. The drivers are ok but the dispatcher is extremely rude and unprofessional. He should get minus 100. Even one star is much to much for them. It is a shame that they are in healthcare business and so rude and unprofessional.
Dec 21, 2022 · P MIf there was a rating for minus 100, that's what i would put. They were rude, rude, RUDE! They kept hanging up on me when i would try to get some answers about my pick up time, they LIED about trying to reach me at my cell and they were extremely reckless in the safety protocols. I will never take them again!
