Corpusa Rent a car Introduce
For anyone in Florida, particularly in the bustling Miami area, securing a reliable and transparent car rental is often a crucial part of travel plans, whether for business or leisure. When searching for local car rental options, you might come across Corpusa Rent a Car. This article aims to provide a clear, factual, and informative overview of Corpusa Rent a Car in Miami, drawing directly from available public information and real customer experiences. Our goal is to equip local Floridian users with the insights needed to make informed decisions about their transportation needs.
Corpusa Rent a Car is located at 2301 NW 33rd Ave, Miami, FL 33142, USA. This address places it in Miami, generally accessible for individuals residing in or visiting the greater Miami-Dade County area. It's important to note that while this address is in Miami, Corpusa Rent a Car is an off-airport rental location, meaning it is not directly situated within the Miami International Airport (MIA) terminal or its main Rental Car Center. Instead, it operates similarly to other off-airport agencies by typically providing a shuttle service for customers arriving at MIA. Customers booking through platforms like Expedia might initially assume they are booking with a major on-airport brand, so verifying the exact pick-up location and process is crucial for a smooth arrival. Being off-airport can sometimes mean slightly lower rates, but it also necessitates reliance on a shuttle, adding an extra step to your journey.
Based on the nature of a car rental company and insights from customer reviews, Corpusa Rent a Car likely offers a range of standard services, although specific details of their full fleet and every offering are not extensively detailed in the provided information.
- Vehicle Rentals: Corpusa Rent a Car offers a selection of vehicles, with specific mentions of a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Camry, and a Nissan being provided to customers. This suggests a fleet that includes compact and mid-size sedans, catering to individuals or small groups seeking economical transportation.
- Shuttle Service: As an off-airport location, Corpusa Rent a Car reportedly provides a shuttle service from the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center to their office. This is a common service offered by off-airport companies to facilitate customer access.
- Insurance Offerings: Like all car rental agencies, Corpusa Rent a Car offers its own insurance policies. Customer reviews indicate that these policies might be presented as "mandatory," even if customers have their own full coverage, leading to additional charges.
- Flexible Booking (via Third Parties): Customers have booked through third-party platforms like Expedia, suggesting that Corpusa Rent a Car is integrated with major online travel agencies, which allows for convenient online reservations.
- Customer Service Interactions: The company provides agents to handle pick-ups, drop-offs, and customer inquiries, though the quality of these interactions, particularly during disputes, appears to vary significantly based on customer feedback.
The provided customer reviews reveal a highly mixed, and predominantly negative, set of features and highlights for Corpusa Rent a Car that Floridians should be acutely aware of.
- Initial Perceived Value: Some customers, when booking through third-party sites, perceived an initial attractive rate. However, this is heavily contrasted by subsequent charges.
- Mandatory Insurance Charges: A significant and recurring highlight (or lowlight) is the alleged "mandatory" purchase of their own insurance policy, even when customers have full coverage from their personal insurance. One review explicitly states a charge of "$140 in addition to the rental" for this. This practice is a major point of contention and concern.
- Undisclosed and Excessive Fees: Numerous reviews consistently report being charged "extra" fees for unexplained reasons, with terms like "hidden fees," "made up" charges, and being "overcharged." Examples include "$250 for nothing," "$100 cleaning fee" despite a "tiny condition" return, "$25 named out of hours drop off," and "$47 that named no refund for early hours." This is arguably the most critical feature to be aware of.
- Vehicle Condition Issues: Customers have reported receiving vehicles with significant problems. One reviewer noted a "tire light was on" at pick-up, leading to a completely flat tire during the rental. Other complaints on various platforms mention dirty interiors, scratches, dents, and even serious mechanical issues like "engine light was on and the car was heisting in a stalling function" and "brakes were weak." One review even mentioned "expired plates" and a "seize order on the car" on broader review platforms, which is a serious safety and legal concern.
- Poor Customer Service and Dispute Resolution: Reviewers consistently describe a lack of responsiveness, an inability to reach management, and a general disregard for customer concerns, particularly regarding safety issues or billing disputes. Phrases like "no one answered," "no one returned my call," "no manager," and "agent stayed quiet" are prevalent. The directive to "email somebody" for serious issues without a clear resolution process is also a major concern.
- Bait-and-Switch Allegations: Several complaints across various platforms suggest a "bait and switch" tactic, where the initial quoted price is significantly lower than the final charged amount, often due to the "mandatory" insurance and other unexplained fees.
- Inconsistent Pick-up/Drop-off Procedures: One review mentioned difficulty in taking pictures of the gas tank as "the agent said I couldn’t cause they already took it back," despite the customer having proof of fuel level. This indicates potential inconsistencies or uncooperative behavior during the return process.

It is important to note that while phone numbers are provided, customer reviews frequently mention difficulties in reaching the company, particularly when trying to address issues or speak with a manager. For locals in Florida, especially those in the Miami area, choosing a car rental service involves balancing convenience, cost, and reliability. While Corpusa Rent a Car's Miami location and listed contact information might initially appear to be a viable option, the overwhelming and consistent negative feedback from multiple customers paints a concerning picture. The frequent complaints about alleged hidden fees, "mandatory" insurance charges even for those with existing coverage, severe issues with vehicle maintenance (including safety concerns like flat tires or engine lights), and extremely poor customer service during disputes, suggest that this company might not be a suitable choice for a hassle-free rental experience. Locals value transparency and dependability, and the numerous accounts of "bait and switch" tactics, unexpected charges, and an inability to resolve issues effectively directly contradict these expectations. For Floridians, the risks associated with potential safety hazards, financial discrepancies, and significant stress appear to outweigh any initial perceived savings. It is strongly advised that local users, or any prospective customer, exercise extreme caution and consider more reputable alternatives. Documenting everything, from initial booking terms to vehicle condition and gas levels, becomes paramount if one chooses to proceed. Ultimately, for a reliable and worry-free car rental experience in Florida, prioritizing companies with consistently positive customer feedback and clear, transparent policies is highly recommended over those with a history of significant complaints like Corpusa Rent a Car.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I failed to read the reviews and trusted since I booked through Expedia & thought I was booking with Economy at MIA. Upon arrival I realized it was in a seedy area n was not an actual Economy. I advised I have full coverage through my insurance company but the agent informed me they had their own policy & charged me $140 in addition to the rental. I disputed but the agent reminded me it was late and they were closing (so as to say I would be left without a car if I didn’t accept). It was 10pm, I was tired and paid as I drive off I noticed the tire light was on n they were now closed. I figured I’ll call in the morning to advise them of that. (See last pic that’s shows the tire light was on the next morning Saturday). I didn’t take pics Friday night cause it was late after 10pm but next morning I took this to show the tire light was on when I received the car! I only drove the car 3 of the 6 days I had it so I wasn’t too worried about them not returning my call as I put air & initially it was fine.On the 6th day the tire went completely flat. I called them immediately again no one answered, I left a message and again no one returned my call. I advised it wasn’t safe for me to be driving the vehicle. I didn’t want to take any chances with the car especially since no one was calling me back and drove straight there to return the car early -it was a Toyota Corolla grey. They tried giving me a Camry and I told them I don’t want anything but to return the vehicle a day early and be done with it. I asked to speak to a manager as this put me in danger. I could have been on the freeway and gotten a flat luckily it was on a local street n I was able to pull in to a corner gas station and put air, the agent said there was no manager n gave me a card to email.I left the car in the exact same condition I received it in and took before and after pictures. Do not trust them EXCEPT I forgot to take pics of the gas tank but the agent let me screen shot the ones they took showing I left it with more than half a tank (they give it to you with half a tank) this place is shady it’s better to pay more at a more rupitable place! When I asked to take pics of the tank the agent said I couldn’t cause they already took it back. I let her know that I had already taken pictures of the vehicle before and after, but I wanted a picture of the gas tank to prove that I left it where it needed to be because I didn’t trust them n she allowed me to take screen shots of the pictures they took. Also, for my safety on the way back, I had to take tolls as I could not take the longer route because it wasn’t safe and I told her I was not going to pay for the tolls to get there to return the car safely. That’s why I wanted to speak to the manager. But apparently there was no one in charge on duty and all you could do is email somebody. Already advised my credit card company of this incase they try to do something shady. I have my receipt that I paid for the rental in full and returned a day early but I had to demand proof as the agent didn’t hand me anything initially. I was assertive and voiced all my concerns and issues to make sure they were heard. Nothing was done, the agent stayed quiet you can tell they know they’re shady but I made it known they were in the wrong and the agent says they note everything cause I was telling her I wanted proof that I called to report a safety issue with the cars tire, proof that there was an issue and she didn’t give me any of that but she’s saying that it’s in the system and I’m like well then how “didn’t” you note that this car’s tire light was on and let me leave like that!!!I’m just in disbelief that this nonsense is allowed or even possible. On the upside unlike other reviews I read I was not charged a deposit but was charged the extra $140 for their insurance for the 7 day rental.Basically, it appears like they make their own rules and charge whatever they see fit and it doesn’t seem like there’s anyone to regulate what they’re doing.
Dec 27, 2024 · Mrs. RThey are the WORST OF WORST. They charged me extra $250 for nothing.I delivered the car back in a tiny condition but charged $100 cleaning fee.I drop off the car in working hours but charged $25 named out of hours drop offCharged $47 that named no refund for early hours. No idea what is that seems like they made up.And some more, NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN BE CAREFUL!!!
Jul 17, 2025 · HAKAN GUNEYI got my rental via Economy and had no issues whatsoever. 1st time was a week, through Priceline. 2nd time renting was through Expedia. The price was great. Upon arrival, since I did not have my own insurance, I had to obtain insurance and that was ok, because you want insurance with the way people drive in Miami. And there is a refundable deposit which I’ve gotten back within 3 days after dropping the car off. Every thing always took less than 20 mins and less than 5 mins when dropping the car off. And I was lucky to have, Victoria assists me each time. My experience has been good and I would use them again.
Jul 03, 2025 · Chase E. Glass WashingtonBelieve the reviews! I didnt read prior to renting because I rented through Amex, shame on Amex for being affiliated with this company. They charged me 120 for their insurance although I have my own...then where is it listed that it is extra for dropping a vehicle off before hours? I've never heard of no such BS! There is someone out there working so what is the issue with dropping the dang car off. The cars are OLD!!! Then on top of that I got charged for a toll. I called and asked for proof of the toll because we have NOT went through any tolls I come to Miami every year and take the same route and my gps is set to AVOID tolls! the lady said she would send an email. to this day im still waiting!
