I also got a great deal through Priceline and got a nice low mileage almost brand new vehicle with just 350 miles on the odometer at a great price. But as seamless as the rental was, the return was the polar opposite. I returned the vehicle at the airport Dollar location. I wasn't aware that there is a Dollar rental location in the tower by the parking area on the second floor which acts as the main location for Dollar. There is also a kiosk type of "office" in the parking area, which could be manned like it was during the rental of the vehicle, but during the return of the vehicle the kiosk was empty without a living soul present. To add insult to injury, to figure out how to drop off the vehicle, customer service said one thing, and then the main office of Dollar on the second floor kept saying another creating confusion and had me running back and forth from the second floor main office to the vehicle drop off location on the first floor of the parking structure at least 4 times over the course of at least 1.5 to 2 hours, making the return process of the vehicle lengthy and tiresome. And all for a receipt that could have just as easily been emailed to me had I been given better instructions on the return process. Then, Dollar claims to have released the $200 deposit held on my credit card and my credit card never received the release so the $200 deposit wasn't returned to my credit line for 15 days and all I could do was wait.... To be penny smart by saving a few dollars on a car rental, I feel like the work I had to put in far exceeded the savings by using this rental car company. Too much hassle really took the bang out of the buck! Next time, I'll go with Enterprise!

My wife had booked early through AAA so that we could attend a wedding on time. As we went to add me onto the booking the person checking us out explains that it’ll be a $15 a day extra charge for me to drive. I explain that I am her spouse and that it should be free. She blames AAA and states that because I am not a card holder I can’t be on the rental without the fee. After saying this she confirms with another employee but states that I am my wife’s boyfriend.Preface we are newly weds and are in the process of changing names, etc.Fast forward we find out that Dollar has a membership where spouses are able to be added for free. We both join this program excited that we no longer have to pay the additional cost. After explaining this to them she explains that she doesn’t want to charge us but the system won’t let her. Again, we explain the benefit of the program their company offers (that we joined) and she states they need to speak to a manager.After speaking to her coworker again, they both explain that our last names do not match (we attempt to explain but they cut us off). Along with that we try and show marriage photos (we are also wearing rings, etc.). Finally after a wasted hour she states that if we are married I am allowed to drive no problem. WE TOLD HER THIS THE FIRST TIME. My wife asks her to add me onto the rental since I’m returning, which she responds again that if I’m married I should be able to drive (she then adds me).As we are leaving the coworker she consulted comes up to us and forces us to listen to a lecture from him about how if we aren’t married and anything happens we are liable. We attempt to leave and he holds us there longer to explain the liability if we are not married.We spent an additional hour in this office simply because the employees would not listen to us. They made multiple attempts to overcharge us despite our explanations. All of this was easily explainable. Ultimately, I am disappointed in the waste of time and poor customer service.

First experience with dollar and it’s honestly the worst I’ve had. The car was nice- Camry hybrid. Brakes did start grinding when applied, towards the end of our trip. Annoying but not a huge deal. The problem came when I forgot to fill up the car before return. My bad and boy did I pay for that. $75 for half a tank of gas. If that wasn’t bad enough, then they charged me extra taxes on the gas??? Employees were rude and could not explain the extra charges but also refused to correct it. A rental that was originally $50 for one day, with all taxes, turned into $140. That’s almost $100 for half a tank of gas. That feels excessive

From picking up the car in Oakland to returning it at a different location in Burbank, LA, everything went smoothly. The car was spotlessly clean and in perfect condition. I didn’t have to wait more than 15 minutes to get the car, which was a big plus. The company was fair in all their dealings, and the gentleman at the desk who handled the paperwork was extremely helpful and professional. This has been my best car rental experience so far!

Check the reviews and you wil see Thai situation ocurre every single week.Updated 3:52 am and still no car
