If I could give them 0 stars I would.We arrived at 1420 to MIA, by the time we got our luggage and made it to the rental place it was 1510. When we arrived there was a line of approximately 20 members ahead. The line grew and the time passed. The customer service representative (2) were helping 1 member for 40-50 minutes. I went down stairs to the parking garage where a member was literally twiddling his thumbs. I asked what was going on and he said I don’t know, maybe the sister is down. With no customers his help, instead of helping his fellow coworkers he was just sitting there.After waiting for 2 hours, I called dollar customer service to cancel our vehicle, and they were not willing to help. In fact the member on the phone was rude and careless of the scenario. We were finally helped by a customer service representative at apx 1830.. the representative was rude, helpless, rushed, and nasty. She gave us a compact vehicle after we had paid and requested a full size. The representative was not willing to work with us as she had already selected the car and didn’t want to do extra work. When we went to the parking garage there was a second large line. The gentleman working it was slow, and didn’t know what he was doing. After waiting for 52 minutes a member from upstairs came down to help. We left the parking lot at 2008… we waited 5+ hours to receive the wrong vehicle. Which is was dirty on the inside and filled with pet hair and reek of cigarettes. This has by far been the worst experience with customer service, vehicle selection, wait time, and flexibility of company.

Terrible experience with dollar Car Rental.We booked our car 15 days in advance, but when we arrived to pick it up, there was no car available. They told us to wait, but couldn’t tell us how long it would take. The staff just shrugged and said, “I don’t know. You either wait or cancel.”And if you choose to cancel? They charge you $100.This is the company’s policy — absolutely unreasonable.No apology, no solution, just a cold “I don’t know” while staring at you.So unprofessional and unacceptable. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

What a joke and a struggle to deal with…multiple issues (Miami and Tampa)1. Rented initially upon arrival to Miami through my banks points rewards (points dollar for dollar cost more than straight rental). I didn’t receive any emails or communication (confirmation, etc from Dollar and had to search through my bank to find the confirmation…2. Rented mid-level car for just under a month. Was provided a 2023 Malibu (rental was mazda3 or equivalent so that was fine. The Malibu smelled like a straight up ash tray and had burn marks (from cigarettes) on the shifter area as well as a burn mark on rear center seat. Obviously the vehicle was smoked in. Was told “don’t worry about that, it’s alright”.3. Tire pressure - quickly I noticed that the tire pressure were leaking, mainly on one tire. I was about to leave for Tampa so filled up the tire at Wawa thinking it might just be a slow leak. A couple days after, tire pressure had dropped again (by about 15 PSI). After this, I called the 1-800 number for repair/exchange. The customer service tech was amazing and responded quickly, setting me up with an exchange at Tampa International.4. Exchange - process was moderately smooth but received a 2023 KIA Soul…economy level at best (even noted as such on the website). I asked to confirm this was “mid-level” and they said “yeah, what’s the problem?” Also had extensive scratches all over the windshield (drivers side). Aside from the obvious downgrade, the Kia was fine but played hell on my back.5. Return - though the process was smooth for turn in, I asked for a printed receipt verifying the close out of the rental contract. This was largely because I didn’t receive any emails from Dollar and suspected that the final receipt would be no different. (I was right). I was met with significant attitude from the attendant as if simply printing the receipt was a step too far!Moral of the story is I will be using a different rental agency next trip

There were only two employees working at the front desk, and it took what felt like an eternity before we were finally assisted. The lady who helped us was not welcoming, not informative, and did not make us feel like valued customers. She offered no explanation about the rental process, didn’t mention anything about insurance options, and completely failed to recommend a toll pass.Just a week earlier, we rented a similar vehicle for the same number of days from a different car rental company. Despite the higher price, the service and overall experience at the other company were significantly better. With Dollar, we paid less, but we also received far less in terms of service and support.The vehicle itself was clean and modern, which we appreciated. However, even a simple task like connecting a phone to Apple CarPlay turned into a hassle. The system had already reached its maximum number of connected devices because previous users were never removed. It’s a small but important detail that should have been taken care of before handing the car over to the next customer.Both the pickup and drop-off processes were slow and lacked any sense of organization.
