Enterprise Rent-A-Car has built a strong reputation nationwide for its extensive network and commitment to customer service, particularly in what they call "home city" rentals – catering to people needing a car while theirs is being repaired. The Chatsworth branch serves as a crucial point of access for many communities throughout the San Fernando Valley, offering a diverse fleet of vehicles and various rental solutions. Understanding the specific services, the ease of access, and real customer experiences can significantly enhance your rental journey.
While the convenience of a globally recognized brand is often a draw, it's always beneficial to delve into the specifics of a local branch. We'll explore what makes this particular Enterprise location a suitable choice for your transportation requirements, keeping in mind factors like vehicle availability, customer interaction, and overall reliability. Our aim is to provide you with factual, engaging, and informative content that assists you in securing the perfect rental car for your next adventure or necessity in the Golden State.

This address places it squarely within the San Fernando Valley, a highly populated and dynamic region of Los Angeles County. The location on De Soto Avenue offers excellent accessibility for residents and businesses across Chatsworth and its surrounding communities.
De Soto Avenue is a well-known north-south arterial street, making the Enterprise office relatively easy to find. Its proximity to major east-west thoroughfares like Nordhoff Street and Lassen Street further enhances its accessibility. For those commuting from neighboring areas such as Canoga Park, Northridge, West Hills, or Woodland Hills, reaching this Enterprise branch is straightforward and typically avoids heavy freeway congestion.
While this specific branch may not offer a pick-up service (as indicated on some Enterprise platforms, though it's always wise to confirm directly), its strategic location means it's often a short drive or a convenient ride-share away for many locals. For individuals whose personal vehicles are unavailable, this localized access helps minimize inconvenience.
Furthermore, for those flying into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and needing a vehicle for use specifically within the San Fernando Valley, renting from a local branch like this one in Chatsworth can sometimes offer a more streamlined experience compared to navigating the larger airport rental hubs. Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Chatsworth, CA, like other Enterprise locations, offers several key features and highlights, though specific customer experiences can shed light on the execution of these services.
- Extensive Fleet Variety: A major highlight is the sheer breadth of vehicle types available. From economical compacts for quick trips around the Valley to larger SUVs and minivans for family outings, or even specialized trucks and luxury vehicles, Enterprise aims to have a car for nearly every need and occasion. This diversity is crucial for meeting the varied demands of California drivers.
- Focus on "Home City" Rentals: Enterprise's historical strength lies in serving local customers who need a replacement vehicle, often due to an accident or repair. This means their systems and staff are generally geared towards efficiently handling insurance claims and providing convenient temporary transportation.
- Customer Service Team (Individual Excellence): While some reviews indicate areas for improvement, positive mentions of individual employees (like "the guy who picked me up from the body shop" and "Michael at the front desk") suggest that many staff members strive to be "awesome," "friendly," and "helpful." This highlights the potential for positive individual interactions.
- Widespread Brand Network: The advantage of renting from Enterprise is access to their vast global network. This can be beneficial for one-way rentals or if issues arise that require assistance from another branch. Enterprise's stated policy to "make it right" by getting a car from a main location if a promised one isn't available, even if not always perfectly executed at this branch, reflects a corporate commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Convenient Local Access: The Chatsworth location is well-situated in the San Fernando Valley, making it easily accessible for a significant portion of the Los Angeles population. This local presence saves time and hassle compared to traveling to airport locations for a rental.
However, it's also important to acknowledge areas where customer experiences at this specific Chatsworth location have fallen short, as noted in recent reviews:
- Inconsistent Customer Service: While some staff are highly praised, there are recurring complaints about specific individuals ("Diane," "Javier") regarding rude, unprofessional, or unhelpful attitudes. This suggests a need for consistent service training across all employees.
- Reservation and Availability Issues: A significant concern highlighted is the discrepancy between phone confirmations and actual vehicle availability upon arrival, leading to customers being turned away despite having reservations. This can be extremely frustrating, especially for those in a bind or with critical travel plans.
- Adherence to Corporate Policy: The review mentioning Enterprise's policy to "make it right" by sourcing a car from another location, but this not being offered to the customer, indicates a gap between stated policy and local execution.

For locals in California, particularly those residing in the bustling San Fernando Valley, Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 9827 De Soto Ave in Chatsworth stands as a prominent and often suitable option for their diverse car rental needs. Its suitability is rooted in Enterprise's broad service offerings and its strategic local positioning, despite some reported inconsistencies in customer experience.
Firstly, the Chatsworth branch’s location offers significant convenience. Situated on De Soto Avenue, it's easily accessible for residents of Chatsworth, West Hills, Canoga Park, and other surrounding areas. This local presence is invaluable for those needing a quick replacement vehicle, perhaps after an accident or while their own car is undergoing repairs – a core strength of Enterprise's "home city" model. The ease of getting to and from the branch reduces the typical hassle associated with renting a car, saving precious time for busy Californians.
Secondly, the comprehensive range of vehicles available is a major advantage. This versatility means locals can find the right vehicle for the right purpose, without having to compromise on size or functionality. The option for one-way rentals also provides immense flexibility for longer journeys across the state.
While customer reviews highlight areas for improvement in consistent service delivery and reservation accuracy, the underlying structure of a large company like Enterprise still offers benefits. The potential for positive interactions with friendly staff members, coupled with the company's stated policies for customer satisfaction (like moving vehicles between branches to fulfill reservations), suggests that there is a mechanism in place to ultimately address issues, even if it requires persistence from the customer's side.
In conclusion, for Californians in the San Fernando Valley, Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Chatsworth remains a viable and often necessary resource for temporary transportation. By leveraging its convenient location, diverse fleet, and understanding its operational nuances based on recent feedback, locals can effectively utilize this branch to meet their car rental demands, ensuring they stay mobile and connected in our vast state.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I would've given this place a 5 star rating if it weren't for Diane. I recently had a small fender bender so I had to take my car into the shop. The guy who picked me up from the body shop was awesome and Michael at the front desk, who issued me the car was also great. I had to wait 15 minutes for the car to be ready which was not a big deal. when Diane came out to inspect the car, she was rude and miserable with her job. I could not figure out the air condition and it was a 95° day and she rudely stated, "get out" I said, excuse me? She said get out and I'll show you. Clearly, she was having a bad day and I told her so. There were a few other comments she made that were completely unprofessional. Sad that I saw other posts that mention her attitude as well. Would definitely recommend provider service training for her!
May 22, 2025 · Tyler .CanteyI was having some car issues so I decided to give enterprise another try. I called and asked if they had any available cars because I was in a bind and was leaving on a trip tomorrow morning. They lady on the phone said yes no problem only thing is you have to be able to pick it up by 6PM so I got a ride rushed over there and told the guy how happy I was I was able to get a car with the reservation & the guy at the counter said we don’t have a car to give you so your not renting anything. I asked him why the lady on the phone told me they did & she made it sound all peachy and even gave me a “discount” for renting with them again. He said nope I’m not giving you a car I only have 8 cars and they are all reserved for tomorrow. Then I said can you call another location near by he said no I was super bummed & said well everything is closing I don’t understand why this lady would make me waste my time getting a ride for them to turn me away, the lady sitting next to him said why don’t you go to the airport and rent a car mind you the airport is over an hour away. Then she started saying they did have a car it was just returned and the guy sitting next to her said no we don’t bye have a good night. I think it’s sad they would allow someone to be stranded like that. There was 8 cars there they should have given me one and called to have another one taken to them from another location so they had it there for their customers tomorrow. Super disappointed. Their policy states that if they don’t have the car that was promised or don’t have a car they will get it from they main location and make it right. I wasn’t even offered that option.
Feb 21, 2025 · Stephanie RubioI rent a car from this placeMike handle it very professionally easy quick and fast. The car was perfect and I also saw him handle a tuition very professional with another customer. I was very impressed by.
Apr 18, 2025 · Abraham EFrom the very start, everything seemed clear to me. The body shop handled the rental directly with Enterprise, arranged for a car to pick me up, and reassured me that they would cover the cost. When I received the paperwork, I noticed that it clearly stated the charges were to be paid by the body shop, which was also reflected in the bill they gave me. At that point, I had no reason to doubt it—it was written right there in front of me.I also noticed a $100 deposit charge, which they explained to me was for potential damages or accidents. They told me it was to cover the deductible that might arise if any damage occurred to the vehicle, and it made sense to me. They assured me that the body shop would pay for everything else, and I trusted them since I understood this deposit was just a precaution. The total rental cost was well over $1700, and all I was concerned about was the $100 deposit. I had no reason to believe I would be the one paying for the full amount, as I was told clearly that the body shop was responsible for the charges. When I returned the car, the $100 deposit was refunded back to me, and everything seemed settled. However, despite these assurances, four months later, I was charged on my credit card. No warning, no explanation, just a sudden charge. When I called to address the issue, I was met with dismissive responses and no help.If Enterprise and the body shop have an agreement, why didn’t they follow through and charge the body shop as promised? Why did they wait months to unexpectedly charge me? The whole situation doesn’t add up.It feels like a systematic issue where Enterprise and the body shop work together, but customers end up being held responsible when something goes wrong.I would strongly advise anyone in a similar situation to read everything carefully, get clear confirmation, and ensure you’re not caught off guard by hidden charges later on. Don’t rely on verbal assurances alone, especially if the written documents tell a different story.
Jan 30, 2025 · Saeid RezaeiI needed a long rental in June 2022 while I was waiting for my car to be repaired. The first car they gave me was larger than I requested and absolutely reeked of cologne (and something else I could not place). After using it a couple of days I heard some rattling in the driver's side door, and found a CRACK PIPE!! So many things wrong with that, the least of which was the fact that they bragged about their attention to the cleanliness of their cars. When I returned to exchange to another car, the manager was embarrassed and offered to add a few free days to the end of the rental, since the car repair would take longer than the 30 days the insurance company would pay. When I finally returned the rental (once my car was repaired), the people in the Enterprise office claimed they knew nothing about the manager's offer for a few free days (apparently he did not bother to write it down anywhere) and insisted on charging me. If the manager had made good on the problems in the first car, I would not have posted negative reviews of the place, but since they don't care about their customers I will be posting everywhere about my experience.
