Choosing a local car rental agency often means convenience and the potential for a more tailored service experience. This article will provide a comprehensive overview of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch on Eastern Avenue in Baltimore. We will delve into its location advantages, the array of services it offers, and key features to consider when planning your next rental. We'll also candidly incorporate real customer feedback to provide a balanced perspective, ensuring you have all the necessary information to make an informed choice for your car rental needs in Maryland.
The Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch in question is conveniently located at 1307 Eastern Ave, Baltimore, MD 21231, USA. This address places it firmly within the Fells Point area, a historic and bustling waterfront neighborhood in Baltimore. Its location on Eastern Avenue makes it highly accessible for residents living in Fells Point, Canton, and other East Baltimore communities.
Eastern Avenue is a major artery, facilitating relatively easy access by car from various parts of the city. While not directly adjacent to a major transit hub, its urban setting typically means that public transportation options are within reasonable reach, allowing customers to arrive at the branch even if they don't have a ride. For those needing a pick-up service, Enterprise locations, including this one, often offer this convenience, provided certain conditions are met, further enhancing accessibility for local users whose own vehicles are unavailable. The proximity to downtown Baltimore and major city attractions also makes it a practical choice for visitors looking to explore the area.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car is known for its wide range of services designed to meet varied transportation needs. The 1307 Eastern Ave branch typically offers a standard array of these services to its local clientele.
- Diverse Vehicle Fleet: Customers can generally expect a broad selection of vehicles, from fuel-efficient economy and compact cars, ideal for navigating city streets, to comfortable mid-size and full-size sedans. For those needing more space, SUVs and minivans are usually available, catering to families, groups, or those with extra luggage. This variety aims to ensure that customers can find a vehicle that fits their specific purpose, whether it's a short-term replacement or a longer trip.
- Flexible Rental Periods: Enterprise accommodates various rental durations, from daily rentals to weekly or even longer-term options. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for locals whose car is in the shop for an extended period, or for those planning vacations of varying lengths.
- Damage Waiver (DW) and Protection Products: Enterprise offers optional protection products, such as a Damage Waiver (DW), for an additional daily charge. If accepted, DW waives or reduces the renter's financial responsibility for loss or damage to the rental vehicle, subject to the terms and conditions. While optional, these products provide peace of mind for some renters.
- Additional Driver Options: A renter's spouse or domestic partner who meets age and driver's license requirements can be an authorized driver at no additional charge. Other additional authorized drivers may incur a daily fee and must be present at the time of rental with valid identification.
- Refueling Options: Customers typically have choices regarding fuel. They can opt to prepay for a full tank, refill the tank themselves before returning the vehicle, or have Enterprise refuel it for them upon return, with associated charges.
- Pick-Up Service: As a significant convenience for local customers, Enterprise often provides a pick-up service from nearby locations to the rental branch, subject to availability and specific branch policies. This is especially helpful for those who are without their own vehicle.
- Debit Card Acceptance (with Conditions): While credit cards are generally preferred, Enterprise locations may accept debit cards for payment, often with specific conditions such as requiring a ticketed return travel itinerary for airport rentals, or a deposit for non-airport rentals. It's always best to confirm directly with the branch if planning to use a debit card.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car's brand promises a certain level of service and reliability, and certain features are generally highlighted across its network.
- Extensive Network: As a global company, Enterprise offers the advantage of a vast network of locations. While specific to the Eastern Avenue branch, this broader network can be beneficial for one-way rentals or assistance in other locations if travel plans change.
- Enterprise Plus Program: This loyalty program allows frequent renters to earn points on qualifying rentals, which can be redeemed for free rental days. For consistent local users, this program offers tangible savings over time.
- Roadside Assistance: Enterprise typically includes 24/7 roadside assistance with their rentals, providing peace of mind in case of unexpected issues like a flat tire or mechanical breakdown.
It is crucial to acknowledge that customer experiences, particularly at individual branch locations, can vary. The provided reviews for this specific Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch highlight significant concerns that potential customers should be aware of.
One review states: "I would give NEGATIVE STARS if I could. This was, by far, the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with enterprise. The manager, TaKearra "TK" Smalls should not be employed there, let alone managing. Her overall disposition is always angry, she has a horrible attitude, and it seems she is determined to argue with any and every guest. She charged my credit card multiple times without authorization, when insurance was fully covering my rental fees. She lacks any and all accountability, she blamed ME for her mistakes. She fails miserably at communication. When I made the decision to just go to another location instead of further dealing with her mess, she started calling me and sending threatening hand written emails, claiming I stole the rental car. I'm still in disbelief that I had to go through this, especially unprovoked. I eye witnessed her badgering and arguing with several guests in the facility. I watched her argue over the phone with a man attempting to retrieve his deposit back from a previous rental. I will now avoid this location like the plague. I would love for *Corporate* to look into this. A manager like that is completely unacceptable and not conducive to the enterprise brand. I have been patronizing enterprise for over 10 years, and this is the first time I've had anything except a 5 star experience."
Another review echoes similar sentiment regarding customer service: "Really, really poor customer service - the woman working front counter at 5:30pm on March 27 was sarcastic, demeaning, and unhelpful. After a policy was not outlined online nor during a previous phone call to the location regarding my credit card being stolen the previous day and not having a hard physical copy - I was told they couldn’t help and it wasn’t their problem, “you can go talk to corporate” was the exact phrase after asking if they could escalate the concern to corporate. I encourage customers to go elsewhere and management on site retrain and evaluate current team."
These reviews point to severe issues with customer service, communication, potential unauthorized charges, and a perceived lack of problem resolution at this specific branch. While these are critical concerns, they represent individual experiences and may not reflect every interaction. However, they are important for potential renters to consider when evaluating this location.

For residents of Baltimore, specifically those in the Fells Point and surrounding East Baltimore areas, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 1307 Eastern Ave offers a geographically convenient option for car rental needs. Its location within a vibrant urban neighborhood means it is easily accessible for many who live and work in the city, providing a local alternative to airport-based rental services. This accessibility is a primary factor in its suitability for locals, as it reduces travel time and logistical complexities when needing a temporary vehicle.
The range of services offered, including a diverse fleet suitable for various purposes (from compact cars for city errands to larger vehicles for family outings), and flexible rental periods, align with the typical requirements of a local clientele. The availability of a pick-up service, a standard feature for many Enterprise neighborhood branches, further enhances convenience for residents who are without their primary mode of transportation.
However, it is imperative for locals considering this specific Enterprise location to approach their rental with careful consideration of the significant customer service challenges highlighted in recent reviews. While the convenience of location and the breadth of standard Enterprise services are undeniable benefits, the concerns raised about staff demeanor, potential billing discrepancies, and difficulty with problem resolution are serious and warrant caution. For a local user, a smooth and transparent transaction is paramount, especially when dealing with essential transportation needs.
Therefore, while the Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Eastern Avenue provides the structural advantages of a well-established brand and a convenient city location, potential customers in Maryland should proceed with due diligence. This includes confirming all rental terms, understanding insurance and payment policies clearly, and maintaining thorough documentation. When these precautions are taken, the location can still serve as a viable option for those prioritizing geographic convenience and the general offerings of the Enterprise brand within their community.

Mar 27, 2025 · Russell SloanExcellent experience. Friendly, accommodating, professional, and efficient. Car was meticulously clean and well-maintained. Pick-up and drop-off were easy and quick. Highly recommend the Fells Point location.
May 13, 2025 · Dennis WalshThey were able to get one of my customers and upgraded rental vehicle while his car was in the shop for repairs, within his policy limits. Thats what I call going above and beyond for the customer! *cheers* to this enterprise!
Jun 26, 2025 · CollHorrible customer service and unreliable!! I had to schedule an appointment 3 times because they kept telling me the wrong days and times. NO ONE called me the day of the appointment to confirm a pick up time on any of the days it was rescheduled. I called before each time I had a reservation and was told a different time or day for my reservation. I rescheduled a pickup soooo many times because of this. No one has a week to wait for a car they scheduled for the next day!!! After the third time I asked to talk to a manager and someone who wasn’t the manager got on the line, and then brought me back to the dial line. DO NOT rent from here, unprofessional, rude and useless staff.
