The ease of access helps streamline the entire rental process, from initial pickup to final return.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 3800 Payne Koehler Rd in New Albany offers a range of services designed to meet diverse customer needs. While individual experiences can differ, their standard offerings typically include:
- Diverse Vehicle Fleet: They generally provide a wide variety of vehicles, from economy and compact cars for efficient daily use, to sedans, SUVs, minivans, and sometimes even pickup trucks and cargo vans for larger hauling requirements. This ensures options for various trip types and passenger counts.
- Insurance Replacement Rentals: A significant portion of their business focuses on providing rental vehicles for customers whose personal cars are undergoing repairs due especially to accidents. They often work directly with insurance companies to facilitate this process.
- Customer Pick-Up Service: Enterprise is well-known for its "We'll Pick You Up" service, where they offer to pick customers up from a local residence or business (within a limited radius during business hours) and bring them to the rental office. This is particularly beneficial for those without immediate transportation.
- Damage Waiver (DW) Options: Customers are offered the option to purchase a Damage Waiver, which can reduce or waive their financial responsibility for loss of or damage to the rental vehicle. It's important to review the terms carefully, as DW is not insurance and may duplicate existing coverage.
- Additional Driver Policy: Spouses or domestic partners who meet the age and driver's license requirements are typically authorized drivers at no extra charge. An additional daily charge may apply for other authorized drivers.
- Refueling Service Options: Customers generally have choices for how they pay for fuel: prepay fuel, have Enterprise refill and charge for it, or refill the tank themselves before returning.
- Online Reservations and Management: The ability to reserve vehicles and manage bookings online helps streamline the rental process for customers.
- Cross Border Policy: Most vehicles rented can be driven throughout the US and Canada, with specific exceptions for certain vehicle classes.
- After Hours Returns: It's important to note that this specific location does not offer after-hours return services, which is a key detail for planning your return.

- Strong Brand Presence and Accessibility: As a major national and international brand, Enterprise offers widespread recognition and a generally easy-to-locate branch in New Albany, which is convenient for local users.
- Extensive Fleet Availability: While not every specific model is always on the lot, Enterprise typically maintains a large fleet, increasing the likelihood of finding a suitable vehicle for your needs.
- Direct Collaboration with Insurance Companies: For those needing a rental due to an accident, Enterprise's established relationships with insurance providers can simplify the process of securing a replacement vehicle.
- Convenience of Customer Pick-Up (confirm availability): The potential for a pick-up service can be a huge benefit for customers who are stranded without a vehicle.

Its convenient location ensures ease of access, and their broad range of services, including dedicated support for insurance replacement rentals, makes them a practical choice for various situations.
However, it's also crucial for local users to be fully aware of certain aspects. While Enterprise aims for customer satisfaction, some reviews highlight significant concerns regarding clarity on billing, especially related to insurance overages and damage claims. Instances where customers felt "overcharged" or "unfairly blamed for something I didn't do," particularly concerning uninspected pre-existing damage, emphasize the vital importance of thorough vehicle inspections at both pickup and drop-off. As one customer noted, "If Enterprise expects customers to be responsible for every inch of a vehicle, then their agents need to perform complete and documented inspections at checkout." Therefore, while Enterprise offers the convenience and fleet size of a major brand, New Albany residents are advised to exercise diligence by meticulously inspecting vehicles, documenting their condition (with photos or videos), and clarifying all charges and insurance coverage upfront to ensure a transparent and satisfactory rental experience. This proactive approach will help Hoosiers fully leverage the benefits of renting from this established local provider.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I will never use enterprise again.Update 4/30/2025After getting into a car accident, my insurance cover a rental. At the initial set up, they over charge me. Put extra insurance on the rental that I didn't need. Never saw that money back because they didn't explain that the rental was over the coverage cost. I digress. After spending over $400 in gas, and the extra insurance they added on the vehicle plus the overage of the rental. I had to wait a whole month before my personal vehicle was fixed and ready. Then a storm blew in. Of course after the storm, enterprise took advantage of not just me, but several individuals for storm damages. Not once at pickup did they examine the car like they did the day I turned it in. I never seen that many people looking at one vehicle.Today I received the false bill for those damages well over a 1k. Enterprise has always been the go to place for rentals. I will advise anyone to not to use them. I will post pictures of the vehicle at drop off, if I can. I hate how they took advantage of me, after still being in shock from my accident. Never clarifying anything, just speeding through the process for more money. Not to mention the car wasn't the cleanest, had funky smell. Enterprise will do anything to get a extra buck, they do not take care of their customers. They are committed to committing fraud. Please take extra steps to protect yourselves.
Apr 30, 2025 · Angela SlagleI rented a vehicle from this Enterprise location for a family trip, and upon return, I was told there was hail damage — a small dent on the roof. The issue? The roof was never inspected at pickup, even though the agent acknowledged recent hailstorms in the area. During my rental period, the vehicle was never exposed to hail, a fact supported by historical weather data along our route and at our destination. Despite this, Enterprise immediately attributed the damage to me without any investigation into whether it might have been pre-existing. I was left feeling blindsided and unfairly blamed for something I didn’t do. If Enterprise expects customers to be responsible for every inch of a vehicle, then their agents need to perform complete and documented inspections at checkout — especially in areas recently affected by storms. Very disappointing experience.EDITED FOR THEIR RESPONSE - Now, I see a public reply directing me to a generic contact page — after they’ve already escalated it and essentially closed the door on a real conversation. If Enterprise truly wanted to "discuss this further," they could have done so before assigning liability. Asking for dialogue after the fact comes across as hollow damage control. If Enterprise expects customers to be responsible for every square inch of a vehicle, especially in storm-prone areas, then they need to ensure agents perform complete and documented inspections — not overlook the roof and later shift blame. A frustrating and disappointing experience all around.
Apr 14, 2025 · Leo HodappIf it weren’t for David trying to do everything possible to make my experience better I’d give them a 0 rating.Carly called me to set up an appointment. SHE set the appointment time, during my work hours, I had to leave work early to get there only for them to not have a vehicle for me. Said to try later around 430. NO, you set the appointment! I could have came at 430 without interruption of my work day. I’m here I need the vehicle. While there someone dropped a vehicle that was larger than what I told them I wanted but I had already put the body shop off once so I took what they had after being there almost an hour. Carly would not address me directly and when she finally did she had a snarky attitude. David was doing everything he could to lessen the bad experience and was very polite. He should be the manager of the place,Seems like he cares more about people than the manager which I am assuming was Carly. She is not customer service oriented. Why make appointments if you can’t honor them? A courtesy call saying hey we don’t have anything available would have been nice also.
Apr 26, 2025 · Garrett BrittonWhen I arrived there were a few people ahead of me. I expected to wait a few minutes. I waited about 3 minutes a kind young man said my name, they upgraded me from a full size sedan to a small suv. I liked that. I had the vehicle about 2 weeks while mine was getting repaired. It was nice. Clean ran good. When I returned the vehicle it went even faster because I was the only person there. The staff was polite and professional. I would definitely use enterprise again and do recommend to friends and family. Thank you enterprise
