Feb 18, 2025 · AviAfter having the most horrendous and humiliating experience this morning at the Forest Lane location of Hertz, I felt compelled to leave a review and to express my gratitude to both of the young men who helped me today. Let's be clear, all was not well at this location. They seem to be understaffed and overworked. However, the man in charge, Rashaad, is perfect for this type of role and he is truly handling it with respect and grace. Within 5 seconds of meeting him, I knew that he was excellent at his job. So my story with him was quick and easy, he had the car set to the side for me. There were about 4 people in line ahead of me and 3 people behind me. The young man behind the counter was working diligently to get us all what we needed. The atmosphere was calm (if not a little light-hearted as a lady walked back in after getting her car insisting that the young man show her how to “turn it on” (we’re all struggling with these new EVs)). No one was huffy or upset, just waiting our turn.The interesting part occurred after I left and returned. I had already picked up my car, which was supposed to be charged to 70%, but it appeared to only be at 30%. I returned to make the correction or exchange for a more fully charged vehicle. When I walked back in, there was an entirely new group of about eight or nine people, all listening intently to Rashaad. I took a photo because it was such a stark contrast to my initial experience at the Forest Lane location and it was honestly kind of amazing to witness. He was calmly, respectfully, and dutifully delivering the worst possible news: they had no available cars and didn't know when they would receive more.It was his demeanor, the way he was able to calm the room, assure everyone that he was doing everything that he could, apologizing to everyone for the mishaps on the part of the company. He was making the wrong feel right; making a difficult situation manageable. And honestly what more can you ask for? This world is broken, the systems are broken, things go wrong so often... Murphy’s law, right? So when you meet someone who takes care of business and takes care of you, keeps their head, maintains composure and is respectable, it is truly exceptional. Rashaad deserves a significant raise and promotion!! But I will say that I hope he gets the raise but stays in the store because he is absolutely the person that you want to be the face of the company.I asked him to come outside and check the charge on my car, pulling him away from an already tense situation. He calmly followed me out and showed me that I was misreading the dial. He was incredibly understanding about my mistake. I apologized, saying, 'Sorry, it seems like you’re not having the best day,' to which he replied, 'Everyday is like this, but I’m just here to help people and get wheels on the road.' Wow!Thanks, Rashaad and thanks to the other guy who made this experience a salve after the open wound created by the branch manager at the Forest Lane location.
Feb 27, 2025 · Deezy StylesEverything about this place needs to go. The service is slower than molasses in January. During our visit they only had one staff on duty with a lobby of 7 customers! We reserved our rental weeks in advance, only to have to wait 45 minutes to even reach the counter and begin the rental process. I looked up reviews while waiting for this awfully slow service, and was immediately nervous about the possibility of the car I would get. I was sure to take numerous photos of the vehicle we received, including video recording for my own records. I wanted to be sure I had ample evidence shall anything go wrong with the customer service since other reviews mentioned how terrible it is and how they lie on their customers about the condition of the rentals when returned. I will say the one staff that was on duty, Mike, did his job with a smile on his face. I commend him for that because Hertz clearly doesn’t know how to maintain a professional business with employees who show up to work. They are extremely blessed to have Mike on their staff. I’ve rented from other Hertz locations before, and recommend they close this location and do a completely overall of operations, staffing, vehicles, and customer service!
Dec 10, 2024 · Leaving CommentsI needed to get a rental car due to my car being totaled and the insurance was paying for it.When I arrived it took 30 minutes to get the car. The customer service person was talking with a customer on the phone but had the customer on speaker phone and it was quite the contentious conversation back and forth.Once he got to me he only had an electric car and stated the car had a 280 mile capacity when fully charged. That's not accurate because 200 miles was the top range on it.I've never had an electric rental before and no instructions were provided regarding how to go about charging it. After I found a place and charged it some When I was low on charge I decided to check the trunk when I got home and discovered there was a plug in back to be able to charge it. I had no idea.I decided to return the rental back to Arlington because the experience was so poor at Dallas and it took me 20 minutes to check it back in at Arlington. At the end of the check-in they said it will be $35 since you didn't bring it back on full charge. No one mentioned anything about needing to bring it back on charge and they said I could go take it to charge it. Every other time I have rented a car they always mention about bring the car back full or you will be charged. This was never mentioned when I first got the car and I was surprised about this at the end.The name Hertz is appropriate because it Hurts to rent a car from them. Worst rental experience I have ever had.
