I booked the car online and received exactly what I wanted. I was a bit worried after reading some of the other reviews, but my experience turned out to be very positive.I arrived early on a Monday morning before opening time and was third in line. Despite the busy start, the lady at the counter was polite and professional.The car wasn’t perfectly clean inside, but that seemed to be due to the previous customer not taking care of it — not really the fault of Hertz.The pickup process was quick and smooth, with no issues at all.

Instead of helping, the red haired employee made things worse by going to the manager, Jeff, after I said my concerns weren’t being addressed. Jeff’s response? He refused me service entirely.Minutes later, I watched him help a walk in customer with no issue at all. So the problem clearly wasn’t availability, it was attitude.The only person who acted with any professionalism was the Black woman at the counter. She was top tier, respectful, and the only one who seemed to know what customer service actually means. The other two? They created chaos instead of solving problems. May they not be messed with lightly, because they clearly don’t belong in customer-facing roles.Hertz, this location has some folks dragging your name through the dirt. Do better.
May 23, 2025 · Araz SultanianI used to rent from this location without any issues, but my recent experiences have been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.On my first recent visit, I reserved a standard gasoline-powered car, but when I arrived, they only had electric vehicles available. I specifically told them I didn’t want an electric car, but they insisted that they don’t guarantee gas or electric—even though their website clearly separates electric vehicle listings. It felt misleading, if not outright dishonest.Then someone brought out an SUV, and I was told that although it was already rented, I could take it—but only if I paid a substantial upgrade fee. I explained that since they didn’t have the car I reserved, I should get it without any additional charge. The representative was rude and dismissive. After nearly two hours, I was finally given a midsize or economy sedan—definitely a downgrade—but received no discount.Thinking it might have been a one-time issue due to the busy spring break period, I gave them another chance and made a second reservation, this time for a gasoline-powered SUV. Again, they only had electric vehicles available, and again they tried to convince me to take a smaller electric car, claiming it was “standard.” I declined, made a quick reservation elsewhere, and walked away.Bottom line: I will not be renting from Hertz again. Even though this Hertz is walking distance from me, I now prefer to go all the way to Pasadena to get decent service from different company. I won't rent from Hertz for work either.
May 29, 2025 · Greg MDo not go here!!! I rarely ever leave reviews but I need to warn anyone who will listen. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. THE SELECTION IS TERRIBLE. THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I’m a hertz president circle member and have had good experience with Hertz in the past but this location was awful to work with and makes me want to switch.When I first came to this location there was a line of people out the door and I had to wait over 2 hours to be helped even though I had an appointment and everyone else was walk-ins. When I got helped, they told me they didn’t have the car I rented online. However while I was waiting, I saw they gave the car to someone else who was in line before me. I overheard their talk and he was a walk in. While I was waiting, I found one worker cleaning cars and asked if there’s anyone else working to help the customers and she said no. After 2 hours go by, someone else walks out from the back and starts to help so I know she lied to me. When they finally try to help, the guy tells me they don’t have the car I rented online in their inventory and say I have to get this Kia EV6. I asked if they had any other gas cars available bc I don’t want to charge for hours later on. He tells me no when I see the lot full with other options. He then starts to go bad on me for not replying to his call when he left a voicemail- which was 8am that same day. As I was working, I could not take his call but at least give me more time to digest and respond. Also no one responds to numbers they don’t know.I looked up the call later and for your reference, here’s the transcript from his voicemail:“Hello Lawrence, this Jeffrey, I'm calling from Hertz here in Glendale Calling in regards to the reservation you have today at 3 o'clock I I do have other EV options if you are interested, just please go ahead and give me a call back as soon as you can thank you”At no point does he say that they don’t have the car in stock, just that they have other models. Whatever, I take the car bc I need it but I’m already disappointed with the service. I ask if there’s any concessions he can offer and he says no. I even ask if they have an adapter to charge the thing on faster chargers, and he says no. I ask if I can return with it not being full charge and he says no. Must be full charge or they will make me pay extra.Then when I go to return the car, there’s minimal trash in the car and they proceed to try and tell me I need to clean the car and remove all the tiny pieces of paper and plastic layer around. Really felt like they were trying to pull a power move on me as I’ve rented cars before and never had to do such a thing.I really hope the red headed lady and Jeff get replaced by people who have better customer service skills otherwise I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

She helped me select the best car for what I needed and set clear expectations of how the car needed to be returned which made the return process quick and smooth.
