When asking to speak to a manager a fake number was provided.The rental car they gave me malfunctioned and wouldn’t let me reverse, when I tried calling for help and an exchange they told me they didn’t have anything for me nor did they seem to care I had a car I couldn’t reverse in.They also charged my credit card almost $900 a full month after the car was returned. Beyond unprofessional and scammers.

Upon returning the car, a few days later they debited $149 from my account for the toll pass. While I agree that I used it a few times, the usual charge is $3 to $4 per toll. The company they work with, Plate Pass, is trying to overcharge me. Instead of $12 or $13, they are attempting to charge me $149. If you are ever thinking about renting a car with them, please ensure they won't do the same to you.

They gave me a car with a chip in the window that was covered by the sun visor (probably intentionally since it was directly behind the flap that was down) so I did not notice it at first. I brought the car back within a few minutes and pointed it out and the associate was extremely rude and told me I owed them another $450 even though an entirely new windshield wouldn't even be that price and the chip in the windshield also did not even come from me. And I am a President's Club Member so if this is how they treat their best customers I do not even want to know how they treat the average customer.Also watched the associate make a girl cry in front of me, showing zero empathy as he screwed her over with some other absurd charges. Now I know how Hertz makes money.

To start, the man helping me called me “mama” and “girl” went to pick up my car (even though I asked him to call me by my name, which was right in front of him on the computer). The manager didn’t even bother to step in during this whole exchange.They wanted a credit card on file (which I had the number on me for, as well as apple pay, but not the physical card as I forgot it at home), but they wouldn’t let me give them the number or use apple pay. They also wanted to do a $500 charge instead on my debit, which just wouldn’t have worked with the amount I had in there.Instead of compromising (and the super rude service), they refused to help me. So, if you want hidden charges and awful service, definitely choose Hertz.
