They said it would be a truck but they didn’t have any trucks, so they gave me an EV instead, a Kia Niro. I paid an extra $26 to return the battery at any level so I wouldn’t have to charge it before returning. That felt like a good deal because charging stations often aren’t cheap and take a while.The Niro gets about 250 miles of range, which felt accurate. On one charge I went out to Valley of Fire State Park, out to red rocks, did the scenic drive, and drove around LV quite a bit with still 30 miles to spare.The price was $115 all-in for 2 days including the $26 to recharge the battery for me. Great price, granted this was during the week.Service was friendly and fast though I did arrive at an unbusy time. It was busy when I returned the car, but I simply left my key and a final receipt arrived in my inbox within a couple hours. No surprises on the receipt, $115 out the door.I’d gladly book here again. They saved my trip after having a terrible experience at Easirent near the airport.

When I arrived to pick up the car, the front desk agent clearly had no idea what she was doing. Despite showing her all my booking receipts, she couldn’t locate my reservation. She spent more time chatting with coworkers than actually helping, turning what should’ve been a quick pickup into an hour-long ordeal.When their system couldn’t process my cards, she blamed me, claiming my cards were locked, even though the issue was clearly on their end. Then she overcharged me by $150, and only corrected it after I pointed it out on the receipt—no apology, just attitude.During the vehicle walkaround, she falsely claimed the EV was fully charged and must be returned to that level. It was only at 75%, and I had to point that out as well. Then came the real kicker: my 6:00 AM return time, which I selected during booking, was suddenly "not allowed" because the location would be closed—even though it was in my contract. The manager shrugged and said it wasn’t his problem and that I should “take it up with Hertz.”I called Hertz President’s Circle customer service the night before return—which is supposed to be their highest tier—and the agent told me there was nothing she could do, then hung up on me. When I called back, another rep told me I could NOT leave the car at their return lot and instead needed to call roadside assistance and pay extra fees—again, for their mistake.In the end, I returned the vehicle to the airport Hertz location anyway before my flight, and thank goodness for the pickup return agent who handled it smoothly and professionally. He was the only person at Hertz who acted like they cared.This experience was unacceptable from start to finish. The local staff, management, and even top-tier customer support showed a complete lack of accountability. Hertz needs to seriously retrain its employees and improve customer service, especially when the issues are caused by their own system—not the customer.
May 25, 2025 · Justin HuangThere is policy's pinned in front of their desks that was not updated nor related to in the state policy making it difficult for new customers to feel discriminated. i called ahead and was informed that I was able to rent a car for a vacation with family came in with a valid ID 2 different cards that has their deposit amount to watch them run it in the system then not accept it because the type of vehicle we are getting is to big. i was greeted fairly but the coworker next to her was not polite interrupting the first person that welcomed me so kindly then to be pursued by her partner who wanted to just take care of us. I felt a little bad. some of these employees just don't have the critical thinking to not do that so abruptly and i bet her partner wanted to say something but she didn't want to make it a big deal out of it. Some phone trainees also don't have a voice of their own i overheard a upset customer was given the wrong suggested location and they did not have the patience to apologize for the wrong doing.

I made a strict budget and paid for a midsize sedan through Thifty. I arrived on time for my pick up only to be met with a lesser than polite attitude. Immediately was told the car I had reserved was unavailable, and that I could pay an extra fee. That in itself was mind boggling for me, why is it my problem that you didn't have my reservation? Because I had been dropped off, l asked if there was a way to get a car in that size brought to this location, I was told "you can call and ask for a different pickup location" I asked if they had any cheaper options as I was on a strict budget, "no we don't have anything else available." How convenient, no accommodation or accountability for their failure to provide me with the appropriate service. Because I had to pay the extra money for this rental I was unable to take my kids on some planned activities, missing out on giving my kids some wonderful experiences and making memories with my littles. On top of that after I got back to my air b&b, the windshield was sticky with what I think was soda, the keys were sticky and the rubber on the button was torn. I will not be considering Hertz/Thrifty for my next rental vehicle as this was very unpleasant and added unnecessary stress on me on what was supposed to be a fun family trip.
