★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I like Hertz and I’m a Gold Member. I’ve never rented a car at this airport. At the counter area in the airport there are no signs directing Gold Members to proceed to the parking lot. I tried the “skip the sign” QR code and that is simply a pain in the ass when working off your phone. I did go to the parking area and my name, despite the emails about my rental, was not on the list. So, I had to stand in line at the Gold counter (which is fine, stuff happens). They did not have the car I requested, and offered me an upgrade. Problem was, the upgrade did not fit in the hotel parking garage (which is what I’d already checked out). So, either I got a pick-up (which I needed for this trip) or another option which would not serve me, but would fit in the parking garage). I went with the full sized pick up, found a surface lot and finished the week. Staff were all friendly. It was easy to find the truck and easy to return it.

After waiting in line at Thrifty, Jim was the clerk. Jim stated we booked a manager's special and proceeded to give us a two door car that would not hold luggage (one suitcase each) much less us. Mind you ..we all flew in and we are at an airport. He says I would have to pay an upgrade fee to have a bigger car. When I returned the car, I questioned this fee and was told by Carlton @ Hertz (who was extremely nice) that the charge was for roadside assistance. I did not ask for that or order that. I paid in full through Expedia. I have not been able to get this resolved. I've called and held on the phone several times for over an hour. Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar- they do not care about their customers.

Would highly advise against renting anything from this company. They say you can modify a reservation but that does not work they want to charge you $400 to get the car 5 hours earlier on the same day 4 days of trying to get someone on the phone at the airport line just leads to an error message and hangs up.. screwed my whole vacation up before it even started. Appreciate that Hertz
Jul 14, 2025 · Kevin McbrideHorrible Experience. I picked a vehicle, waited in line for 20 minutes, only to be told at the exit counter that the vehicle had a mechanical hold. They made me turn around and pick another vehicle. No big deal I though, only for me to wait 20 minutes and be told the same thing again. I was able to get out on the 3rd vehicle but fail to understand how 2 vehicles that are not ready to rent were on the lot for someone to rent. Not rocket science, these should have been pulled aside, and not on the lot for someone to grab. I call customer service, only to be told that it could have been worse, and that it is not a big deal. These people have no idea what they are doing, but feel it is ok to waste an hour of my time. No compassion whatsoever! Presidential Circle btw.... this means nothing!

But after returning it, when I was already in the terminal, I was notified over text and email that “new damage had been detected on my vehicle.” They sent before and after pictures, and I could see where the damage was: it was a tiny ding on the drivers’ side door, the overall affected area no larger than a penny. We couldn’t see it ourselves; only with their special screening procedures (reflecting stripes onto the car to mark distortions) was it evident (picture included). They charged us $80 for the damage, plus an extra $50 for fees. That was about half the price of our rental, and I doubt it cost the company that much in lost revenue.
