★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was told to go to a specific spot for a vehicle. I loaded my luggage in the vehicle, and went to leave the lot and happy with the car. When I got to the kiosk to leave, I was told the vehicle was assigned to someone else so I had to return the car to the spot I got it from and go back inside the building for a new car. I should’ve been halfway home by the time I was getting the new rental. The vehicle that was available already had damages prior to picking it up. I let the customer service agent know when I left the lot with the car. The tire didn’t affect the driving of the car, but I was not able to return the vehicle as I already had plans for the entire day and the local branch was closed for the weekend and I was leaving Friday. I still got a claims email despite reporting the damage. I’m assuming the email is standard across the board for damages they find on the car. I understand that we are all human, but the damages weren’t recorded when I told them about the damage and still received the email. So far, the experience with dealing with the damages is subpar. I was offered a $50 credit for the inconvenience of having damages on the car, but I’m not paying for damages that were already on the car when it was picked up.

Jun 27, 2025 · Michael PowerUpon arrival to pickup up as a gold member, I was told we didn’t even book the car as a gold member and had to prove to them we did… eventually received a vehicle that had trash inside of it, dirty trunk area, and multiple scratches on the vehicle. As we tried to leave, was told by a staff member we were leaving in a vehicle not assigned to us which took another 15 minutes for the staff members to figure out the issue. Hours go by and the vehicle screen starts to malfunction and did not work the majority of the trip even though it’s only a year old… best part of the rental was the return process. Would recommend going to a different rental company.

Then they discovered that I had actually rented from another Hertz about 4 miles down the road. They went ahead and honored the contract I had and issued me a vehicle. I was very thankful for their great service and professionalism. Thank you.

Upon return it was the worse. No employees in the the return lot but that's usually fine because you leave the car running with the keys inside. I received my final invoice stating I dropped the car off 2 hours later than I actually did. So now I'm being charged additional fees. It impossible to speak with someone at the location and when I spoke with customer service at (877)599-8916 and 1(800)654-4173 I was told I cannot dispute the charges within the first 24 hours or so and to call back tomorrow. Not to mention, the first person hung up on me for asking to speak with a supervisor and the second person told me I could not speak with a supervisor. I have to put in a request to speak with a supervisor and they would call me back within 24 hours. This has been an experience. I still gave it 2 stars because the woman who helped me at check in was very professional super very nice. I wish I could remember her because she was amazing.
