★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I can give a 5-star rating for the overall experience. The pickup and drop-off went smoothly and the employees are very helpful. The concern is that the vehicle I received was just plain dirty. A previous renter got ink from a marker on the center console, there were smudges from dirty hands on the light colored interior, finger prints inside and outside of the windows, and water spots all over the car's paint. I detail my own vehicles, and it bothered me so much that I actually took several micro fiber towels and spray to help clean up. The touchscreen had smudges all over it and I just felt gross sitting in the car. I actually returned the rental CLEANER than I received it, but the water spots are really set in. Needs treatment from a professional detailer. The vehicle also is at nearly 8,000 miles and the oil change reminder popped up. Just wanted to express my concern. It'd be a shame for a '25 Santa Fe to not get proper maintenance or detailing and fall apart way too soon.
Mar 18, 2025 · Kyle ShenbergerRecently flew into Tucson and realized I forgot to reserve a rental vehicle for a family of 5 and 6 pieces of luggage. After searching the web I found a suv at hertz. My wife reserved the suv on hertz website, but we did not pay since we were already at hertz. When at the counter the employee said that what we had reserved did not come through and they could not rent a full size SUV same day. The best they could do was a Nissan rouge, which was way too small. After going back and forth we decided the call the cooperate office to see if we could get something figured out. When talking with a corporate employee they stated that the hertz location at the airport had plenty of suvs available and didn’t understand why we couldn’t get one rented. The corporate employee of hertz asked to speak with someone at the counter, but they all declined including the manager. While my wife was on the phone with corporate the manager said the best she could was rent us Hyundai palisade. I could understand not wanting to use someone’s personal phone, but these hertz employees seemed very uncaring considering we were stuck at the airport with 3 small children and they refused to get us into a vehicle that could safely fit my family and luggage. We had to fold one of the back seats down just to fit everything and my oldest had to sit with luggage basically in his lap. This my first and last time I will be dealing with Hertz.
Apr 18, 2025 · Michael SmithThis branch of Hertz is awful. I chose Manager Special and received a Dodge Ram 2500 last night. This is a HUGE truck and not a car. I explained that I was there to visit my parents who are 80 years old and they do not have the ability to jump into a truck that is 3-feet off the ground. I would take any car, but a truck like this was not workable. I was told that I needed to pay $100/day to change this and that's what you get when you choose Manager Special. I've been trying to call Customer Service and can't reach a person to discuss this with. I'm a gold plus member and have a need for a rental car quite often. I will use another company from now on.

But maybe try a little harder and pretend you actually care about your customer service. I declined insurance, they added it anyway. When I attempted to show my AAA rental confirmation, they told me to put my phone away and just fill out the prompts on the card reader. I went back the same day after I figured out the insurance had been added. They told me I only had 10min after getting the car to come back and alter the reservation. On top of that the car had a 1/4 tank of gas to start with. Do yourself a favor and walk 10ft to the left and rent from Enterprise.
Jun 30, 2025 · Nate TrenholmeIf i could give negative 5 stars, I would. I want to start by saying I am a President's circle member with over 75 rental days and over 20 rentals a year. I recently came across this absolutely horrific branch this past week during my business trip to Tucson (I had previously been with National). I arrived to find they had a Chevy bolt- EV reserved for me. I kindly asked "MARGO" the older lady at the desk what the range is-- her response - looked dismissively at me- "i don't know LOOK IT UP". Unreal response. I asked what else was available - she said nothing else is available. She offered an upgrade which i refused- however CHARGED me an extra $100/day for said upgrade. After telling this lady that I had refused the upgrade offer and took delivery of the assigned vehicle she condescendingly barked back- "sir it is not on your bill" it is in the computer. I had to get to work so I didn't persist. I get to work and the latch for the trunk kept on popping open. Realizing this was an unsafe situation I went back to the airport for an exchange. Elissa (new front desk rep) refused to exchange it saying it was "safe". Eventually after speaking with this extremely rude, dismissive and unprofessional agent she contacted her manager, Lashawna (sp?). I didn't think one could get more unhelpful and impudent than Elissa- well Lashawna took the cake. She said, there was nothing further that can be done. She can't offer another type of vehicle without paying for an upgrade. I calmly explained that I was already charged for an upgrade and didn't GET an upgrade and need this to be taken off my bill. This lady stated that the extra $300 couldn't be taken off as I had ordered an upgrade upon checkout (which i clearly hadn't as I took receipt of the Chevy Bolt). I also reminded her that "president's circle" members are often offered upgrades for being loyal members based on availability free of charge. She tells me this is not their policy. All that she could do was only charge me $50 extra vs. $75 extra per day. I refused this "generous offer" and just said I will take whatever will be safe and equivalent to my reserved vehicle. After 10 minutes of speaking with Elissa privately in back she offered me a downgrade- stock Jetta (2yrs old with 50,000miles and a glass damage to the windshield). Before pulling away, I notified the Hertz staff of this and was told the "glass splinter" appeared to have been sealed so they were aware of the damage. I trusted this branch as far as I could throw them so I took a photo of the said damage. I returned after my 3 day rental to an email (incident report) accusing me of damaging their Jetta's windshield along with an updated bill for over $700 for a 3 day rental!! I had booked the vehicle and estimated total was roughly $200. So not only had they charged for the upgrade(not received), they increased the daily total (I was quoted $50- they charged over $80), and they tried holding me responsible for the damaged windshield. Complete horror show. As a brief post-script, I did go to Tucson the following week for business again and rented with Sixt. The very nice rep not only upgraded my rental for free ( I status matched to platinum on Sixt as I wasn't planning on ever returning to this Hertz), she also commented that MANY people had complained about this particular Hertz branch. After this experience I did reach out to Hertz customer service who apologized for the branch and offered a refund for the $400 I was overcharged for the rental. I really feel that all customers need to be warned about this branch and the customer service "offered". I also plan on escalating this complaint to Hertz corporate so that they are aware. I have attached photos (my estimate of $200 and their fraudulent charge of $742 along with the glass damage) FOR PROOF of this complete clown show of a branch and to warn future potential customers of the type of operation that is run here.
