Called them 4 times the morning of (this morning) with NO ANSWER for the first three calls. 4th call, answered, left me on hold nearly 20 minutes. All I was trying to do was notify them I may be 30 minutes late.. their policy says they’ll hold the rental for up to an hour even if you don’t call, but, I was trying to be courteous. Fast forward to 4:10 pm when a woman called me saying “will you be here by 4:30? We’re closing early due to extreme weather, leaving at 5.” (yeah from an air conditioned building, I’m sure) I did inform her I tried to call numerous times to no avail. I told her at 4:10 “okay I’ll leave right now and be there in less than 30 minutes” got there at 4:40 to the building locked and employees gone.Thankfully, Enterprise in Wayne, NJ was happy to help, went above and beyond to accommodate my last minute needs. Hertz rental in upper saddle River?? Negative 1 star if that were possible.

We tried to call in the morning 4 times to let them know we would be about 30 mins late (we figured would not be a big deal since they areOpen till 6pm!) Well they call at 4:10 to let us know they are closing at 5pm due to extreme weather! Huh? Is there no working air conditioner? My girlfriend frantically leaves work at 4:10pm after telling the woman she would be there around 4:40 (still allowing 20 minutes for rental) drives all the way there rushing for 30 mins to get to the location and they closed and screwed us out of our rental!Called enterprise they got us right in with a packed house! Do not waste your time with this location! I understand us cutting it close to 5pm however you are open till 6pm! Do better hertz
Jun 23, 2025 · Jim TorellaI picked up the Chevy Malibu on Friday July 5th and drove 11 miles to my house before I planned on heading into Manhattan for 4th of July weekend. I went back to the vehicle and the battery was dead Leaving me with not other option than to Uber to the city. While in the city I contacted the Hertz roadside assistance. I was informed that because I was not next the vehicle they would not be able to pick it up even though the Keys were at the house with a family member. When I arrived back to the vehicle on Saturday night I contacted a friend to give the vehicle a jump start which got the vehicle started and I left the car on to charge the Battery. The next day (Sunday) I tried to turn on the vehicle and return it but the battery yet again was dead. I called Hertz road side assistance and they Finally picked up the Vehicle and while doing so the tow truck driver informed me that this hertz location is full of lemons and he usually has to pick up vehicles because the key fobs don't work half of the time ( He could have been talking about Enterprise because that's where this idiot took the vehicle). a few days later I called Hertz to get a refund and they informed me that they have never received the vehicle and they would not be able to close the contract. After doing my own investigation I discovered that the hertz roadside assistance had delivered the vehicle to Enterprise rentals at 240 airport rd., suite 1 in Westchester. I called this hertz location which is the one that gave me the vehicle to let them know about this error and they the employee told me it was my fault which is ridiculous because I called the roadside assistance provided by Hertz!! So far trying to get refunded has cost me hours of my life and dozens of phone calls with Hertz. I finally received a receipt on the 23rd of July and once again called hertz who informed me that they will only refund half the amount and if I wanted the full refund I need to wait for a supervisor to call me back which would be within 24 hours. It has been 4 days and I have still heard nothing. I am currently on a the phone with Hertz as I am writing this and have been put on hold multiple time. My current phone time as I write this is 52 minutes which is relatively good time compared to the other dozens of phone calls I have made. Best of luck to every other person considering renting a vehicle from here. EDIT: now on the phone for for 1hr and 10 minutes and still listening to this hertz song "Hertz lets go baby baby hertz lets go... only 11 miles"

Second, the car was not clean. Third, the car's display was showing "maintenance required." Fourth, the car barely had any fuel. When I raised my concerns, I was told this was the only car available. Given I was in a time crunch and needed to start a road trip for business, I took the car. Photos attached.
May 19, 2025 · Mher HI make the reservations for a compact car when I came to pick up the car the manager by the desk pushed me to upgrade the car to a Ford Explorer for a so called good deal when I took the car I saw that the inspection is already expired for over six months Which is totally illegal, and I got pulled by a State trooper for that.... when I returned the car the guy at the front desk didn't want to give me any refund for that inconvenience, he said that the manager will call me and I'm still waiting for the call😆a expired inspection means that they don't care on the car maintenance, make sure before you take a car that the car is legal on the road because they are not making sure👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
