★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The check-in took too long, even with a pre-paid reservation. It took 1 hr and 45 minutes or more to get a car. The entire time I never saw anyone with a Payless uniform. I arrived at the Payless counter about 7:30pm to find a sign saying to go to Avis. I went to Avis and waited in a long line. Eventually I received a paper telling me to go outside and they would give me a car there. Outside, I found another very long line with the same people, plus others, who had already waited in line inside as well. I waited for another long period of time before making it to the front. There were only 2 workers trying to help all of the customers. They were both from Avis. Each was working very hard searching through the lot to try to find a car for each customer. Meanwhile there were 5+ men in reflective vests sometimes standing there and sometimes moving cars from time to time. I think they were in the drop-off section, but the back-up was clearly in the check-out section. Eventually I was given a car by a nice Avis worker, who said they were behind due to delayed flights. I don't see that as the case. It was a clearly inefficient and minimally-effective process. I got in the car and drove to the exit, where cars were also backed up. I was directed to one of the lanes, was pre-checked by an Avis worker quickly, and was only 10 or so cars from the exit gate. That Avis worker was quickly going up the line checking drivers licenses and paperwork, then putting a windshield wiper up, which was a sign to show someone had already been checked. However, it appeared that people were being checked again at the gates. Then my line stopped for a long time. I sat there watching car after car from the other lanes who arrived after me move forward while my lane didn't go anywhere. Then I heard they were closing my lane. The cars in my lane behind me got to move to another lane while I and the others in front of me were stuck. Finally the person in the booth at my line started letting people through. I'd say the Avis workers were all nice, but the whole process was very inefficient, and I don't know why no one from Payless was there.
Apr 30, 2025 · J C1 star feels to high for this locatation. I went to the Payless, location which then tranfered me to the Avis location. I have already paid for my rental car through hotels.com which confirmed there will be no more fees or taxes. Once I got to the pickup and waited in line because they only had 2 ladies working. I was then asked for a credit card which I was told was for "incidentals". Once I got home from my trip, I was charged an additional $107 that they will now not refund, and said it was for insurance. The car was returned full of fuel and in perfect condition. I would do everything possible to avoid this location as well as any Avis brand. The customer service after the fact has been an absolute joke. Stay far far away.

When I finally returned the rental they refused to give a receipt/invoice of charges so I could have sent to proper party to have them paid!!! I now see why their rating is 1. I would never again!

Unexpected as I wasn't planning on having a great time while renting. Truck was clean, full tank.Tips: Easy pick-up and drop-off and their offer to fill the tank was cheaper than what you can get on the street.Get there early, there is a line and be willing to wait 45 minutes for pick-up. People complain about the wait but I ended up paying LESS than what I thought I would. Great experience all around. I had read the reviews and know this is a smaller operation with fewer attendants and for the price I am 100% willing to be patient and wait a bit. A penny saved is a penny earned.If you need speedy service with all the fluff go on, I will continue to be thrifty and live it up when God allows me to.Will be renting with them again.
Feb 29, 2024 · Eva GHertz didn't have any cars available, Budget and Avis had crazy long lines so I booked Payless while being at the airport. The compact SUV was my choice but I was happy to get a Tesla 3. However since I never drove it before I didn't know how it works. No one mentioned how to lock it for example which took me some time to figure out. Also, I wasn't told that the company is the same as Avis and budget which made it difficult to find on a parking lot. I appreciated the fast service and the car choice that the counter clerk provided.
