They completely screwed up my reservation and charged overtime fees for “picking up the car two hours early”, when we actually picked up the car late. When we picked up the car, they told us everything was covered and unlimited and never once said anything about making sure the gas tank was full and then charged me a $125 gas fee. Horrible customer service, and instead of the $41 per day we signed up for, we were charged over $300 for have the car for 1.5 days. Not to mention, the AC didn’t even work!! Worst experience I have ever had.For your own sake, choose literally any other rental car company.
Jul 10, 2025 · Alaina BlairOn the day that I picked up my rental, before exiting I asked the Payless agent at the exit booth if the strange smell in the car was smoke, he replied yes a little and said that it wasn’t that bad and that he would make note of it in my rental contract. Not even an hour later once I got to my destination I called Priceline because the smell was so strong that I had a headache. Priceline said that I needed to talk to Payless so he connected me with Payless then got off the line. The Payless employee on the phone said that I could “switch out” the car. That would have been a huge inconvenience. I then shared with him that I was very busy and no longer in the area of the Nashville airport. He said that if I had a chance switch the car out and either way he would note in my contract that the vehicle smelled like smoke. Today I got this notice that I would be charged a $250 smoke fee. 1. I don’t smoke 2. The car already smelled like smoke when I got into it 3. I spoke to two employees that said they would make note of the smell. I called the customer service line about this notice of charge and after him trying to give me a 50% off on the fee for smoking in a car that I did not smoke in he finally agreed to remove the charge. I asked for proof! he shared that he would send me an email stating that I will not be responsible to pay this fee. I asked him to stay on the line until I get the email. He then said that he had to disconnect because emails take 30 minutes and he couldn’t wait so he hung up in my face. They rented me a car with a smoke smell, at least 2 agents lied to me, I am being falsely accused of smoking in a car and they are attempting to charge me for a car that was returned in the same condition that it was rented and now the agent hung up on my face with no verifiable resolution.
May 27, 2025 · The Atkinsons** UPDATE** 5 months later they have now invoiced me damages on a car that I didn't even rent, and they went ahead and charged my card without any explanation. They will not answer any calls or emails either.Do not rent with them!!! They promise the lowest price but I promise you there are other rental spots far cheaper. They also slap you with a fuel service feed regardless if you return the car with a full tank. I was sent a $150USD invoice (on top of an already $400 car rental) that they went ahead and charged my visa even though I returned the car with a full tank, and my booking receipt said I would owe $0 upon arrival. The car was already $100USD more than the other spots in Nashville, which I didn't realize until it was too late. They also don't track mileage properly so make sure you are taking photos, they claimed we drove over 400 miles, when we drove under 100. When we called customer service to ask about the additional charges the rep was incredible rude to me, he insisted I had him on speaker phone and that he couldn't help me due to security purposes even though I didn't have him on speaker. Then he hung up on me. I can't stress enough do not rent with this company they are scam artists!!!!

They requested a 250$ deposit I returned the car with a full tank of gas and in the same shape they have not give me a single dime back. I think this company’s business plan is to charge 250$ for a deposit and see how many people will notice it missing from their account or fight for it until it’s given back. I’ve called 7 different numbers and I’m not stopping till I get my money back.

I provided my gas receipt but rep stated again that the car was brought back with now… 5 gallons of gas. Good thing we took photos of the fuel gauge showing the gas was on F with over 400 fuel miles and a picture of the dashboard timestamped with the time of drop off. Still waiting for my refund. Terrible company and won’t be renting from them again.
