Renta Florida Tampa International Airport Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For Florida residents and travelers arriving in the Sunshine State, securing reliable and cost-effective personal transportation is paramount to a successful trip. The company, Renta Florida, with a listed address near the Miami International Airport (MIA) area, positions itself as a contender in the highly competitive South Florida car rental market. It is important for local users to note the company’s full name, "Renta Florida Tampa International Airport," is somewhat misleading, as its physical operating location is in Miami, FL, not Tampa. This detail alone underscores the critical need for customers to conduct thorough research when booking a rental car, especially from third-party booking sites.
Operating as an off-airport car rental agency, Renta Florida is typically aimed at the value-driven customer seeking to avoid the higher fees associated with the main MIA Rental Car Center (RCC). While the business generally offers a standard range of vehicles to accommodate different needs—from compact cars for urban navigation to SUVs for family trips—the primary focus for prospective renters must be on the logistics of pick-up and drop-off, and the consistency of customer service, especially given the nature of the industry in this immediate airport vicinity.
Location and Accessibility
Renta Florida is physically located at 3990 NW 26th St, Miami, FL 33142, USA. This places the agency in the cluster of off-site rental companies situated just east of the Miami International Airport runways. For customers arriving at MIA, this means the location is not within the official, consolidated MIA Rental Car Center (RCC) and requires a separate shuttle or private transportation to access. This distinction is crucial, as the facility is described by customers as being a 10-15 minute car ride away from the main airport terminal, not a direct, easily walkable location.
The geographic location offers excellent access to major Miami highways, including the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) and the Airport Expressway (SR 112), allowing quick entry and exit from the airport area for drivers heading to destinations like South Beach, Downtown Miami, or beyond. However, customers must rely on the company’s provided instructions for airport pick-up, which, according to customer feedback, involves calling the office number and waiting for an agent or shuttle to be dispatched. Users should verify the current and precise pick-up location and procedure directly with the company at the time of booking to mitigate potential confusion and delays, as general airport shuttles may not service off-site agencies.
Services Offered
The services Renta Florida, as a car rental agency, generally offers are intended to provide a standard rental experience, although customers report significant inconsistencies in the delivery of these services.
- Standard Fleet Availability: The company aims to offer various vehicle classes, typically including sedans (Compact, Midsize, Full-Size), SUVs, and sometimes minivans, catering to different group sizes and luggage requirements for Florida travel.
- Short-Term Rentals: Providing options for daily or weekly rental periods, which are the core offerings for tourist and short-business-trip clientele.
- Off-Airport Pickup/Drop-off Service: A shuttle service is advertised or implied to transport renters from the MIA airport grounds (outside of the official RCC) to the off-site rental office and back for drop-off.
- Reservations via Third-Party Brokers: Renta Florida is frequently accessed by customers who book through major online travel agencies or booking platforms, often lured by significantly low initial pricing.
- Optional Add-ons: Like most rental agencies, they likely offer optional services such as supplementary insurance/waivers, GPS devices, and child safety seats (availability and pricing should be confirmed directly).
Features / Highlights
Based on the company's positioning and customer feedback, the following aspects represent the key features and characteristics of Renta Florida.
- Low Advertised Rates: The company's primary feature is the often exceptionally low price displayed on third-party booking websites, designed to capture the attention of budget-minded customers.
- Off-Airport Location: The agency operates from an off-site location, avoiding mandatory airport concession fees and taxes, which allows for the competitive base pricing.
- Emphasis on Self-Initiated Contact: The customer experience appears to rely heavily on the renter calling a designated number, such as the provided (786) 271-4447, upon arrival for instructions and collection.
- Operational Inconsistency (Cautionary Note): Public reviews repeatedly highlight significant operational issues, including unstaffed offices, non-affiliated shuttle confusion, alleged non-delivery of prepaid vehicles, and difficulty reaching staff via the listed phone numbers, pointing to a potentially high-risk rental experience.
Contact Information
All potential renters, especially those in Florida making a booking, are urged to use this contact information for pre-booking verification and post-arrival coordination. Given the reported customer issues, it is essential to confirm all details directly with the company before arrival.

What is Worth Choosing
The decision to rent from Renta Florida should be made with extreme caution by any Florida user. On the surface, what is "worth choosing" about this agency is the potentially significant cost savings due to its off-airport location and low advertised rates. For a local user who is highly flexible, has a backup plan, and prioritizes finding the absolute cheapest rate, the initial advertised price point might be attractive. However, this potential financial saving comes with substantial, publicly documented risks.
The extensive and concerning customer reviews—which describe being stranded at the airport, cars being "given away" after a short flight delay, unstaffed locations, blocked phone numbers, and the eventual need to rent a much more expensive car from a reputable agency—must be heavily factored into the decision. Florida users rely on clear and consistent transportation, particularly in high-traffic periods like holidays. The risk of major disruption to travel plans, lost time, and a significantly higher final cost (by being forced to book an immediate, high-rate replacement rental) appears to outweigh the initial advertised saving. Therefore, while the *price* might be initially appealing, the *experience* and *reliability* are not worth the risk for most travelers, suggesting that a well-established, reliable rental company, even with slightly higher fees, may be the truly more economical and stress-free choice for getting around Florida.

Renta Florida Tampa International Airport Reviews
DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE! %100 SCAM!!! Let my family stranded on Christmas Eve! My wife rented a month in advance from economy bookings. When we landed I called the number and the agent gave me instructions on how to pick up the car. Told us to get on a shuttle that wasn’t affiliated with them. Once we arrived there was no one at their location no cars in the lot except for a couple wrecks. Called same number back multiple times with no answer eventually they blocked my number as well as my wife’s number. We ended up getting shuttled back to the airport to rent a car from another reputable company. Talked with someone there a few days later and the guy said it was his first day on the job and he was there alone. Seems cheap but don’t go for it. Still disputing the rental fee. I gave one star because zero isn’t an option
Jan 02, 2025 · Derek SecristPlease stay away from this rental car place.Like so many others I have had a horrible experience with this business. My flight was delayed and I was 1.5h late to pick up my car. I was told the car would only have been held for 1h and had now been given away.I was forced to rent another car adhoc at Tampa airport and ended up having to pay $1,500 for a weekly rental. There I was also told that this business fails to give people cars all the time and those people end up coming back to the airport to rent at other agencies. While the name suggests this rental agency is at the airport it is actually a 10-15 minute car ride away. Please. Stay. Away.
Jan 01, 2025 · David HeggerStay away! They charge fees that other rental company have never changed me. I never received a car and had to Uber to get out of the location. It was off airport, one person staff in a closet like building. This was a fraudulent business and a scam, taking advantage of travelers. I booked through ecomonybookings.com and will likely never get a refund. I never took a car, but I learned a lesson to stay away and I'm happy I did not get a car. The return charges could have been even worse. For me to take the time to write this review should be a warning to all !Travelers in front of me left without a vehicle as well.
Nov 05, 2024 · Deb MatticioLike all of the others, I was scammed and worked over for the insurance hook and deposit. I booked mine with Economy Bookings many weeks before the rental and they ONLY send you the "Fine Print" on this scammed rental 3 days before as a Confirmation email. This email in super tiny print will include the part where they will force you to put a $1000 deposit and you HAVE to buy their insurance policy if you are NOT covered with the 4 companies that they claim to accept. If you do not hold a policy with these 4 companies, then your insurance charge will be 4-5 times more than your actual rental. In my case, my rental was $210 and the insurance would have been close to $900. I was stunned, alone, tired and beyond scared. I have a sizable insurance policy with a major company and use it every time i rent cars, but not good enough for these scammers. After pleading for 2 hours, endless calls to Economy Bookings, I realized i was being shaken down by this business and Economy Bookings who clearly heard this cry from other previous customers so they claimed that the information is in the "Terms and Conditions" at the start, which is far from the truth. I refused their extortion charges, walked away and called for help from the group that i was suppose to meet for this trip. The guy that picked me up and worked me over at the counter was called Carlos, who knows if that is his real name. Carlos casually mentioned that Renta Florida had closed down since my booking and his company now called EZ Rent a Car was doing a favor by picking up the reservations. Who knows if that is true now because the other door next to his tiny office structure is called OTO Q with the Renta Florida sign on its door. He was super quick to take my ID and credit card and stayed quiet until his well rehearsed hook with the insurance scam. Some other lady showed up during this 2 hour ordeal I had with Carlos and they spoke in their own language. She seemed like someone in charge and gave me the major stink eye because i was not willing to fall for their insurance scam. If you see any of these companies I mentioned in this review, RUN and DO NOT be enticed by their low prices and BOOK with these scammers. Btw, the company Green Motion located in the larger building right next door to these clowns, the exact same story but only bigger building to look more legitimate.
Dec 26, 2024 · K MaherScammer alert! Ok so you claim "car hire with All Inclusive Prices" that couldn't be further from the truth! I rented a car from Nov 11th -25th 2024. The name of the company was Renta Florida LLC, the name on the building was OTO. The guy who helped me was wearing an OTO shirt. He had a Spanish only speaking employee who was really rude. They quoted me $230 and took a $20 deposit. Then they charged me $14/day for collision damage, another $11/day for suplementary (sic) insurance (which should have been liability), another $5.98/day for administrative fees, and another $2/day for a Florida surcharge which, to me seems ridiculous. All for a total of $695.92 after tax. So the quote was most definitely not all inclusive! I asked the guy why I was charged an administrative fee on the days that no administrative work would be done and he replied that everyone does it. Last time I checked that is not an acceptable reason to charge people extra money.I returned the car 1 day early and was directed to look down at the form I signed which said no refunds or early release. I am a paralegal and I'm pretty sure several of the terms of the contract are unenforceable. Needless to say I won't be using you guys again.Update-they billed me $1000 and by-passed my pin instead of putting a hold on my card for possible damages etc. They never refunded me. I had to file a claim with my bank.
