Not once have I had as bad of an experience as I did with this location and agency. I Booked a rental car, I get confirmation email, I come to get my rental and talk to front desk and for me to get my rental car it will cost 2X the original price. From 600 dollars to 1200 dollars. I’m confused and they say without explaining “this is how it works” so either you pay double the price or you go with someone else… I proceed to go and call my boss to get approval to spend double the price on the car rental. Come back to the desk. Manager comes out and says he won’t fulfill my reservation. Of course I’m upset. Will never rent from this agency ever. And whatever response the manager comes up with. He doesn’t know how the first interaction went. He was told by his staff. Unprofessional, unkind, non empathetic and literally 0 customer service. I’ll gladly go on your blacklist 👍

Immediately starts to upsell. I said I only wanted what I RESERVED weeks ago. (They should look up the word) He finally tells me they don't have any available, but I can upgrade for "only an extra $20 a day". Or he could give me a smaller car for what I paid. I had to have the bigger car so I reluctantly agreed. I just got the invoice and they charged me an extra $25 a day, not $20 a day! Dishonest scammers! In my experience if they don't have the car you reserved they will give you the next size up for NO extra charge. Liars, scammers, cheaters. Stay away from SIXT.

Well, they had no cars - none - not a large one, not a small one, they had none. So had to rely on ride sharing as the other rental companies, with which I did not have a reservation, were booked up.This company doesn’t care if they have a car for you or not, they’ll take your reservation and make you waste your time to callTheir customer service to make sure it’s cancelled and you don’t get charged.
Jun 11, 2024 · mark rayBe aware of Minnesota Nice- I wasn´t and it cost me $700! I arrived at the Sixt counter at MSP to pick up a Toyata Rav 4 (or similar) that I had booked through Expedia. I was greeted by a friendly representative, she found the reservation, I gave her my credit card and driver’s license and she brought up the car (a Subaru), asked what color I would like (I was indifferent) and offered me a BMW instead-it was “on special”. I declined the BMW and we proceeded. Then she said “okay, now I have a few options for you”-car seats, extra driver, and insurance. I explained to her that I had contracted insurance through Expedia and she quickly noted that my insurance through Expedia was invalid because I had a reservation for a four-wheel drive vehicle. Never had I specified a four-wheel vehicle at any point of the reservation. She pulled up the Expedia policy indicating the conflict regarding the four-wheel drive vehicle. Understanding the conflict with the insurance through Expedia and the four-wheel drive vehicle, I asked for a vehicle without four-wheel drive and her response was “I can’t do that, I would get in big trouble with my manager”. I called Expedia and this information was confirmed and the insurance was therefore cancelled. Afterwards, the representative from Sixt mentioned “always book directly with the rental company and not third parties and you will avoid these issues”. The representative offered me insurance through Sixt for $56.90 per day. I calculated the total costs and realized I couldn’t absorb this difference but was uneasy not having coverage. At that point, looking at my options, I and asked her directly “what will it cost me to simply cancel the entire reservation” at which she responded “nothing you can go ahead and cancel”. The follow up from the representative was “I really feel sorry for the confusion and I can offer you the BMW”. I once again neglected the BMW offer and proceeded to cancel the reservation entirely. In retrospect I can see many problems and attempts to upsale a rental. After a 15 hour international flight, all I wanted was an fair car rental experience without games-the exact opposite of my experience with Sixt.
