Despite taking pictures and having proof of now damages, they said I did. Not only that, but when I arrived to drop off the car they said, "because of time we will look at your car when you leave." It was supposed to be a BMW X3, but when I arrived, they said that car wasn’t available and gave me a Volvo instead. The pickup process was easy — the staff was friendly, quick, and efficient.At pickup, they pointed out that the fuel tank was only half full and told me to return it at the same level. I took note of that, no problem.When I returned the car to a different location, they asked why the tank wasn’t full. I explained that’s exactly how I received it - I refuled the car before return to have the exact same level.Yet I was still charged for extra fuel — apparently, there was no record that the car had only half a tank at pickup. The return location even filed a complaint on my behalf, but the fuel charge remained on my final invoice.To make things worse, after I reported that the car reeked of smoke from the moment I picked it up, they tried to charge me a smoking fee. No one in my group smokes, and we actually struggled with how bad the car smelled during the trip.The final invoice and the hassle of trying to resolve these bogus charges are the reasons behind my review.Not a great experience overall.

When you pick up your car, it’s in a very dimly lit parking garage. This makes finding new damage that hasn’t been noted on your agreement very difficult. When you bring your vehicle back, you drive through an extremely brightly lit area with multiple cameras taking pictures from multiple angles. These cameras will detect any “new” damage that has occurred while the vehicle was in your possession. It can also detect damage that employees may have caused while cleaning or preparing your vehicle between rentals that hasn’t been noted on the agreement. This damage will be attributed to you. If any “new” damage is found, you’ll be notified via an email and envelope in your mailbox with a claim number for damages that you now owe Sixt rental. I’ve rented from sixt multiple times, and my experience with the above system has changed my mind about further rentals with them. The waste of time and money associated with this rental exceeds any savings I would have had with other companies.

Our reservation was at 8, we arrived by 9, and the vehicle still wasn’t ready. Other customers came after us and left before us. Not sure what’s going on at this location, but it was a horrible experience and the customer service representative was not helpful at all. Will never rent with Sixt again.
