When I tried to call the location to confirm that they had gas cars, I was instead connected to a random call center. The call center provided with me with a number to contact this location which only routed me back to the same call center. At this center I spoke to another agent who confirmed to me that they had gas vehicles available. I reserved one and caught a ride 45 minutes away to their location. When I arrived I waited in line for half an hour only to be told that, contrary to what I'd be told on the phone and what was represented in the app, they only have electric cars available. What a ridiculous way to run a business. Colossal waste of my time and bad customer service. Nobody at this business has an idea what's going on

They all seem to have short patience and wont actually take the time to understand your rental concern.Mysterious charges on my card were made then later refunded.They claimed to never received payments when I had bank records proving payments were made. Even after providing the proof they denied any payments made.Renting with them for a year has been a nightmare. Their phone lines have been down for the entirety of a year since I have been renting with them. If there was ever any issues (which where many) I would have to drive 30 minutes into the branch to be met with horrendous customer service.When I asked to speak with a district manager over an issue I was having, I was denied by the franchise owner and berated and was told to "go rent with Hertz".Do yourself a favor, rent with Hertz. They are more reliable, customer service attentive, and Avis said so.*diamond was an amazing CSR. She was attentive and cared to help you with your rental concerns. Why she's gone? But bring her back you need her

Jun 14, 2025 · Matthias EhrhardtWell I got there 10 minutes early. Walked right in. The agent's name was Diamond. She was awesome. I could not find my vehicle in the parking garage. So diamond went and got it for me and drove it right up to the front door for me. It was clean. However I cleaned it again. But that's just me. The outside was dirty because of the weather. The gas tank was pretty much empty, so I took a picture of it and the mileage on the dashboard before I left. And diamond documented that. She never once got frustrated with me. She was very very helpful and spoke very professional and helped explain things to me. She answered all of my questions and I had a lot of questions. Most people would have been frustrated with me. But she wasn't. And that is awesome customer service. I sat in the parking lot for awhile adjusting the mirrors etc. just getting to know the car. After driving it for a while, I decided that I really liked it. So I just want to say thank you to Diamond. And Avis. Everything went very well. Edit 2 weeks later. I need someone to call me right away please.I went to Avis in person yesterday and a woman helped me that was a different woman from the first day. And she accidentally charged my credit card for a car that I did not rent. She told me it would come off today and it has not yet. There's also another charge on there again today. I've tried calling the phone number but it only goes to the call center. I need someone to help me right away please and thank you ... Edit today is Saturday the 25th and I drove all the way to the Waltham Avis branch because they charged both my Visa and my MasterCard for this week's rental. Closed at 1 pm. Customer service cannot help me on the telephone and neither can the billing department. So why do you have a billing department if they cannot help you. And someone could have told me that they closed at 1:00 p.m. and I arrived at 2:00 p.m. to straighten this out. I have two charges on two credit cards. Over $600 each card. Why is this happening and how? Now there is a new reservation for yet another car. So I called customer service and the woman has a really bad attitude with me telling me that I am at fault for everything that's happening. This is an absolute nightmare and I want no more charges on my credit card. Edit 1/ 26 Sunday. Went to Avis and the mouth at the counter started on me as soon as I walked in. Never once helped me. Just argued. I refused to argue And left. But I did get a receipt for the overcharge to give to my credit card company. Edit Tues 1 /28. Just received an email that my rental is 3 days overdue. It is not . I renewed it over the phone with the reservation dept. This is payback for me filing complaints for overcharges . Well you should look into your mouthy CSR. She's commiting fraud.edit. the car was due back on February 1st and I brought it back two days early on January 30th and I was charged a $75 late fee. Because the mouthy clerk never extended it until February 1st when I went in there on Sunday. She did it on purpose. Edit. She did print up a bunch of receipts for me. I found out that I was charged for another car rental. I only rented one car. The first day that I rented, Diamond, the clerk, gave me a contract with the wrong car on it and crossed it off and put the actual car that I rented on that contract. So the second clerk that helped me ,the blonde lady, did not delete it correctly, resulting in extra charges on my MasterCard. Avis is arguing this charged with me. Saying it never got charged. Thank God my credit card agent caught this and is disputing.
Feb 04, 2025 · KristyWorst experience EVER..First off we called before driving all the way to the Waltham to ask if they had gas vehicles and we were told they do and once we got there there was NONE only EV (which if you're an UBER driver its not worth it especially in the winter) The first car that was given to us was making a crazy noise so was returned. None of these cars are being looked at to make sure they are safe to drive OR clean. The girl just sits behind the desk, hands you the cars key(s) while you go fishing for either a car that is filthy inside, has a flat tire or not safe to be on the road.The 2nd EV car we ended up with was even worse, the car broke down and when we called AVIS they said they couldn't tow the car to our house which was literally less than a mile down the street and that we could only get it towed back to their location for $300 which we had to pay for.After that we were over it because you spend more time charging the car than driving it. We decided its not worth all the headache so we returned the vehicle on Saturday at 12:30p because they close at 1p supposedly but NO ONE WAS THERE. They closed a half hour or maybe left way before but when we got there at 12:30 door was closed and lights off. I've never seen a company as unprofessional as this one. Never will they get our services again
