I needed to extend my rental by a couple of days, so I visited the Avis office in Myrtle Beach to make the change in person. The staff there were helpful at the time and assured me that I could do split billing when I dropped the car off at the Knoxville location. They even showed me the option on their computer screen and walked me through how it would work.However, when I arrived at the Knoxville branch to return the car, I was told that split billing was not possible — directly contradicting what I had been told in Myrtle Beach. The staff in Knoxville insisted there was no way to accommodate the arrangement, and I was left without the solution I had been promised.In addition to that, the vehicle was very dirty — inside and out. I even took pictures because it was so surprising. When I mentioned the condition of the car during drop-off in Knoxville, the employee casually brushed it off and said, "Yeah, the car detail guy was out last week." No apology, no accountability.This kind of inconsistency and lack of communication between locations is unacceptable, especially when it impacts how customers are charged. I expected more from a company as large as Avis, and unfortunately, this experience has made me think twice about using their services again.

There's nothing like having a reservation and taking an Uber to pick up your rental car and then them telling you that there are no cars on the lot available for rent. No calls, emails or messages were sent to me to notify me of that. From there, you're on your own as the front desk person will do absolutely nothing to find another alternative for you at a different location. I had to walk outside, call the Avis customer service line myself and luckily that CSR was extremely helpful and actually found me a vehicle for the same rental price at the airport. I had to pay another Uber fee, but I was fine with not giving this location any of my business. Oh, and when I walked back into this location, the front desk lady said that a car had just been returned. No thank you, you've already lost my business with your terrible attitude and unwillingness to help out a customer, and I didn't want to wait around forever for them to clean that vehicle.Additionally, the front desk person had to call her manager every five minutes to either ask how to do things on the computer or to get a verbal denial in front of the customer for any requested vehicle upgrade to a SUV due to the lack of cars on the lot. Again, stay far away from this location. You've been warned.

We can tell the person at the counter was frazzled after apparently firing a couple employees and discussing openly in front of customers. We were asked to wait, after about 30 minutes we were informed that there were no vehicles available. Our reservation was over an hour before And we were just notified that there were no vehicles available for pick up.Upon discussion, there were two vehicles in the parking lot for rental under other reservations, later in the day. This location was unwilling to allow the customers that were currently at location to have the vehicles.After two hours, we were told that they were attempting to get some vehicles shipped in on a truck, and they were unsure how long it would take at least a few hours.I do completely understand that sometimes things do not go as planned, but the lack of interest or desire to help from the one employee that was there was very sad.Unfortunately, when we called the customer service number, we were met with the same poor customer service.After this experience, we have decided not to take our business back to Avis or budget and definitely not this location

I was called one hour before pick up time and told they had zero rental vehicles available and would called if a car became a available. They never called. I called myself and was told they had car availability. When I arrived nobody was at the desk, when someone finally arrived to take care of the long line of customers at the desk, I was told to step out of line when there is a discrepancy between my reservation and what they were quoting me. I was then told to get to the back of the line and had to wait an additional 30 minutes to get my reservation. Very poor customer service.

She so professional and sweet. You see how people behave when they think they can get away with it. She kept me updated on my rental and was super helpful answered all my questions I’m definitely bringing a lot more business back here.
