It had brake drum problems and was giving really horrible sound when we apply break at a high speed. I ended up swapping the car from the Cmh airport second car had a lot of wheel alignment related vibration so we had to exchange the card third time again from Cmh airport.Upon returning the car, they charge us extra $75 because there were a couple of cups left in the car and they said the car was trashed because of that. I completely disagree with that.
Jul 12, 2025 · Apurva MistryThis was the worst experience ever, fraudulent charging, horrible customer service from this Avis location & also awful customer service from budget.We had to get an oil change same day after picking up our rental car on 6/13/25 because it had 0% oil but they had no other cars big enough for our family needs that we prepaid for, I called them to let them know when we got home to load the car for vacation it was saying 0% oil and Jen who was working informed us if we did an oil change we would be reimbursed if we brought the reciept when we returned the car. We were assured we’d recieve a complete refund for the oil change that cost $128 out of pocket when I called again to inform her we got the oil change. Not only did we NOT get refunded for the oil change we got charged fraudulently for an extra day and late fees. When we returned the rebral car on time on our return date of 06/22/25 at 12pm to Jen. Jen told us the oil refund would be processed by the manager Denise the next day on 6/23/25 since Jen was unable to do the refund. Jen also was going to charge our card again for the rental that we PREPAID the full amount for over a month in advance. Then Jen who we gave the keys to on time on 6/22/25 at 12pm apparently put our rental car keys in the overnight drop box for her manager, Denise to find the next day on 6/23/25. Not only did Jen not inform Denise of the oil change refund but Denise assumed we had returned the car late because the keys were in the drop box when she came in on 6/23/25 so she charged us an additional day & late fee on the rental and I found this out from calling the budget/Avis Polaris location and speaking to Denise directly. Denise said this would all be taken care of which did not happen and we were given a $150 credit for the oil change off the Reciept that had late fees and a additional day charge on it instead of being directly refunded for the out of pocket oil change we made on their car!!! Because the credit is on a incorrect receipt total and we prepaid we basically weren’t receiving any refund. Now After almost 3 weeks of many calls/emails to budget we’ve only received credits to equal $88 of our $128 paid for oil change on the rental and the receipt is still incorrect with incorrect charges listed. We are still out $40 for the $128 oil change we paid for not to mention zero compensation for how much of a fiasco this has been but at this point all we want back is our remaining $40 toward the oil change we paid out of pocket for on a RENTAL CAR!!!We prepaid thinking this would be a smooth and easy process to rent a car to drive on vacation and it’s been a complete nightmare. We held up our end of the rental agreement all just to have to go above and beyond and get an oil change in a car that’s was not ours on the day we picked it up, then to not be refunded appropriately, then to return a clean car on time with a full tank of gas to be fraudulently charged a extra day and late fee. Now having to spend almost 2 weeks calling many times and emailing, waisting our time to not even get back our full amount refund for the oil change we had to do on a rental car. We will never ever rent from budget/avis again and have spread the word to all family and friends as well about how awful the customer service and experience is.

Got it home and the check oil light popped on- 5% oil life left.3. Called Avis-budget and they didn’t have anymore large cars and said get the oil changed and they would reimburse us.4. Got the oil changed, packed the suv and left the next morning for vacay5. Came back from vacay and returned rental on due date Sunday at noon6. Employee tried to charge me again for the rental - hold up lady- I prepaid. Oh okay.7. Give her there kept for the oil change and she says the manager Denise has to approve the oil change and issue the refund- But she’s not in until tomorrow (Monday) so this lady says she can’t return the car until that’s done and puts the keys in the drop box and says she’s leaving a note for the manager8. Monday manager charges my card for another days rental because it was returned late. I explain to her that her employee said about the oil change and returning the car9. Manager Denise said she knew nothing about this oil change and that I did return the car in time and that SHE GUESES SHE WILL HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.10. Manager has not correctly refunded my one day late return charge11 manager also states that corporate has to refund the oil change???????12. This was 10 days ago and no word from the manager about fixing my refund and no reimbursement for the oil change13. RUN AWAY- DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. I was mad we’re supposed to be leaving for vacation in two hours. I asked for a refund and she told me to call Priceline that she didn’t have my money. I called them and they said they had the insurance purchased but Avis had the rental money. She claimed she had never heard that and she would not be refunding any money. If I had complaints I could call customer service. She did not cancel my reservation. I did call customer service and they told me they definitely did have my money and that the store knew that. Denice (the owner) is a rude liar and a thief. Do not rent from her.

When we went to pick it up they said the best they could do was a 5 person jeep.We were incredibly disappointed because we didn’t have room in the smaller 5 person car for everything we needed to bring on our road trip. However, the manager helped us get refunded for the different vehicle.
