Instead of conducting a thorough inspection at that time, he said he would need to wash the vehicle first and would email me about any damage he discovered. When I reiterated that there had been no damage during our trip, he responded dismissively with, “We’ll see about that.”When I asked if I needed to sign anything or if he needed anything else from me, he simply raised both hands, waved them, and said, “Here’s two goodbyes for you, now go.”This level of unprofessionalism was shocking. We will never return to this location, and we are seriously reconsidering whether we will use Avis again in the future.

This time, unfortunately (and like many other car rental companies), they did not have my "reserved" vehicle, and a comparable vehicle (SUV type) could not even be offered... thus inconveniencing my travel plans. I was not greeted, I was not asked to please do anything, no please or thank you. He became more agitated as it came closer to 6 pm and there was a line beginning to form. He informed everyone to sit and wait and he didn’t know that he even had enough vehicles for the customers. I had a reservation! Efficient and quality service should not be expected.

The reason? An employee named Moe, who provided the rudest customer service I’ve ever encountered.I usually write positive Google reviews, but I feel everyone needs to know what to expect if they visit this Avis location in Mandarin and deal with Moe. I walked in feeling great because my wife and I were about to go on vacation. Moe came out from the back, didn’t say hi or hello, so I tried to be friendly and asked, “Hey, how are you doing today?” He replied, “I don’t know, you tell me.” I said I was having a great day, and he snapped, “Really? Explain why that is!” in a rude tone. I tried to keep things light and asked how he was doing and if Avis was treating him well. He just gave me more attitude, so I assumed he was having a bad day and let it slide.When we started going over the rental contract, he asked for my driver’s license and credit card. He printed the contract, but it wasn’t set up right in the printer. It came out on multiple sheets instead of two, and one section was unreadable because the text overlapped. Moe handed me the contract and told me to initial in a few spots and sign at the bottom. When I gave it back, he pointed out that I missed an initial. I explained I couldn’t read that part and was about to ask what it said. Apparently, it was about a $10 fee if I didn’t refill the gas tank when returning the car. Trying to lighten the mood, I joked, “I didn’t know gas was that expensive!” He snapped back, “Well, it is!”Moe gave me the paperwork and keys but didn’t do a walk-around of the vehicle with me, which is standard at other rental car places. As I was leaving, he mentioned the front grill had some damage. I went to the parking lot, took pictures of the entire car, and noticed not only the damaged grill but also a broken radio antenna, which he didn’t mention. I didn’t care much since I wasn’t planning to use the radio.While I was in the car connecting my phone to Bluetooth, Moe came out to inspect another vehicle nearby. I rolled down my window and said, “Hey, usually we’d do a walk-around together to check the car. The antenna is broken, which you didn’t mention.” His response? “Good.” I was shocked and said, “Really?” I asked why he was giving me so much attitude, and he said, “I don’t know, man, why?” I explained that I came in having a good day and treated him kindly. He replied, “I don’t dispute that,” but when I asked why the attitude, he said, “You got your keys, you got your car, you’re going to the airport, right? Why are you still in my parking lot?” I was stunned and said, “Wow, really?” He mocked me, saying, “That’s the second time you said ‘Wow, really!’ Are you gonna keep saying that?” Then he added, “Who comes into someone’s office and asks how they’re doing?
