Also there was oil change stickers that was expired and the inside console was dirty and had leftover residue and the car had looked like an animal was in it. Also, the tank was on a fourth of a tank when I received it so I immediately had to get gas, which was inconvenient. It gave a reminder that the oil change needed to be done within 200 miles I’ve drove the car over 200 miles for the weekend and it constantly was sending me warning Signs that the oil was low and needed service and the car was driving like it too . The customer service agent was nice though.

I couldn’t even make it two miles down the street before it nearly died and needed a tow.To make matters worse, the agent clearly knew it was a bad car — he told me he had “just cleaned it,” almost as if that would magically fix serious mechanical issues. When I called for help, they told me I’d have to pay for the tow myself and “work with customer service” to maybe get reimbursed later.Instead of waiting, I had to risk my own safety, turn on my hazard lights, and slowly coast it back to the office. There, they handed me a second car that was filthy, with no inspection. I noticed a huge dent that wasn’t documented — I’m sure they would’ve tried to charge me for it later.Now I’m on my way to the airport just to swap the car yet again.Avis showed no care for my safety, no responsibility, and no real support. I’ll never rent from them again. Their customer service is beyond disappointing — it’s downright negligent.

They’re supposed to automatically renew your reservation weekly (it says they do in the app) and if there is a problem, they’re supposed to call you, help you; get you back to work. They have done none of those things. The car didn’t come with a charger, or a spare tire. They never answer the phone, the guy at the front counter is a horses rear end. The older one. He talks to people, especially uber drivers, as if we were beneath him, and as if he doesn’t have time to deal with us. The battery on the car I got was also well below a half charge, and when I asked him about it; all he said was was “that’s they way they bring them back to me” as if charging them or refueling them if they come in that way and charging the previous driver for the work they do should they have to do so. I asked him to inspect the car with me, he refused, and there was damage to the vehicle when I got it. If they attempt to charge me for things I did not due there will be hell to pay I swear. Add to all the that the customer service dept for Avis is obviously outsourced and completely useless, their “roadside assistance” program involves you doing all the work for them, and the generally laziness of the company when it comes to supporting and promoting their products, and of course, the fact that they are not telling uber drivers on the app when we rent that they now only offer electric vehicles, and I’m surprised Avis is still a thriving company. Oh, wait, it wasn’t, was it? Uber saved them. We. We saved them. And all their jobs. You’d think at the very least they could at the very least instruct their employees not to treat us with absolute contempt, care for their vehicles; and make sure we have the things we need to keep them employed, like a spare tire. But I guess that’s too much to ask anymore. You know why complain like Amazon and others are doing well these days, because they figured out what companies like Avis still have not learned. Treat your customer well, support them when they need you, and sometimes yes, it’s even better to lose a little money up front for the sake of the bottom line, so don’t nickel and dime them to death, and they will be loyal, they will be eager to come back, and above all, they don’t leave 1 star reviews!

And they’ll make you pay full price for vehicles with mechanical issues and the carpet being ripped up.I guess there was an issue with my payment (not sure why?) and instead of calling me to resolve it, and getting things fixed over the phone, I get a hostile call from corporate stating that the reservation is closed and legal action is going to be taken for possession of the vehicle. Not once was I contacted prior to this, when it could have been easily fixed over the phone.Rent elsewhere.

Rented a pickup, hole in floorboard, damage to drivers side and bed, high miles, stank like cigarettes. something I've noticed on my past half dozen rentals is that they seem to be cleaning interior of windshields with dirty rags. so bad sometimes it's hard to see especially when sun hits it a certain way and with filth if it's cold out they fog up so bad I've had to pull over.
