Coach Transportation Introduce
For many residents across Colorado, especially in a growing community like Colorado Springs, reliable transportation is a cornerstone of daily life. This need becomes even more critical when it involves specialized services like non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), which provides crucial links for individuals to access healthcare appointments and essential services. This article focuses on "Coach Transportation," located at 5660 N Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Our aim is to provide a clear, factual, and informative overview for Colorado locals, detailing their reported services, location, and, importantly, the actual experiences of users within our community.
It's vital to clarify that "Coach Transportation," based on the provided customer reviews, operates as a non-emergency medical transportation service, not a traditional "car rental" agency where you rent a vehicle to drive yourself. Their role is to provide chauffeured transport for individuals who need assistance getting to and from medical appointments or other scheduled non-emergency destinations. For many Colorado residents, particularly the elderly, those with mobility challenges, or individuals relying on state-sponsored programs like Health First Colorado (Medicaid), NEMT services are indispensable. Understanding the quality and reliability of such services is paramount for well-being and peace of mind.
Coach Transportation is located at 5660 N Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80918, USA. This address places them on a major thoroughfare in the heart of Colorado Springs, specifically in the northern part of the city. North Academy Boulevard is a well-known commercial corridor, making the location relatively easy to find for those familiar with Colorado Springs.
While the physical address is their operational base, the true accessibility for a non-emergency medical transportation service lies in their ability to pick up and drop off clients directly from their homes, care facilities, or medical centers. For Colorado locals, being centrally located on a major road like Academy Boulevard can be advantageous for dispatching vehicles efficiently across the city. However, as customer reviews will highlight, the ease of access to their physical office is less critical than the reliability and punctuality of their field operations.
Based on the provided customer reviews and the nature of the company, Coach Transportation primarily offers specialized transportation services, specifically focusing on non-emergency medical transport. The services appear to include:
- Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT): This is their core service, providing rides for individuals to and from various medical appointments, including doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dialysis, and other healthcare-related appointments. This service is often crucial for individuals covered by programs like Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid).
- Scheduled Pick-up and Drop-off: The service model involves pre-scheduled rides to ensure clients reach their appointments. This means arranging transport in advance with the company.
- Transportation for Appointments: Customers specifically mention being transported to and from weekly appointments, indicating a service for recurring medical needs.
- Potential for Non-Medical Transport: One review mentions waiting to hear back about "non Medical Transport," suggesting they might offer, or have explored offering, broader non-medical transportation services in addition to NEMT. However, the primary focus highlighted by user experiences is medical transport.
- Driver Services: The service includes professional drivers who transport clients in Coach Transportation's vehicles.
It's important for Colorado residents to understand that this is not a service for emergency medical situations (always call 911 for emergencies) nor for self-driven car rentals. It is a specific niche in the transportation sector, catering to individuals with scheduled medical travel needs.
When considering Coach Transportation for your non-emergency medical transport needs in Colorado Springs, it's essential to look at both the intended service and the very strong feedback from existing customers:
- Friendly Drivers: One consistent positive highlight is that the "drivers are always really friendly." This is a crucial feature for a service that deals with vulnerable individuals, as courteous and compassionate drivers can significantly improve the client's experience.
- Core Service Provision: The company does succeed in "getting me to my appointments weekly," indicating that the fundamental transport service is indeed provided, albeit with significant caveats.
- Severe Scheduling and Communication Failures: This is the most critical and repeatedly emphasized negative feature. Customers report extreme difficulty in scheduling rides, with "very hard schedule rides" and messages left to which "Coach will not respond." One user noted leaving "six messages in the last 2 weeks trying to schedule transportation with no reply."
- Significant Delays and Being Stranded: A major concern is the frequent lateness of pick-ups, especially after appointments. Customers report waiting "30 to 45 minutes for a driver to come get me after my appointment time is over," and worse, being "left at appointments because coach does not return to pick me up." This is a serious issue that directly impacts client safety and well-being.
- Lack of Proactive Communication: There's a clear desire from customers for "reminder calls or emails" and for drivers to "automatically come to pick me up when my appointment is over so that I don't have to interrupt my appointment to call." The current process forces clients to repeatedly call and chase their ride, causing anxiety.
- Unresponsive Management/Dispatch: The inability to get a response after leaving multiple messages points to severe issues within their dispatch or customer service operations, making it nearly impossible for clients to resolve issues or even confirm scheduled rides.
- Recommendation to Report to State: The extreme advice from a customer to "never schedule with coach and report them to the state whenever possible!" underscores the depth of dissatisfaction and perceived unreliability. This is a very strong condemnation from a user.
These features, particularly the negative ones, are paramount for any Colorado resident considering this service, as they speak directly to the reliability and stress-level associated with using Coach Transportation for essential medical appointments.
For Colorado locals in Colorado Springs who might need to contact Coach Transportation, here are the details:

Given the strong customer feedback regarding unresponsiveness and scheduling difficulties, it is highly advisable to exercise extreme caution and explore all available alternative transportation options before relying on Coach Transportation for critical appointments. If you must use them, persistent follow-up and having backup plans are crucial.
For Colorado locals, particularly those in Colorado Springs who rely on non-emergency medical transportation services, Coach Transportation is a provider in this essential sector. Conceptually, a service that transports individuals to medical appointments fulfills a critical community need, especially for those with mobility challenges or limited access to personal transport. The positive mention of "friendly drivers" indicates that individual staff members may indeed offer courteous interactions, which is valuable in a service dealing with vulnerable populations.
However, based on the highly consistent and severe customer feedback, it is exceptionally difficult to recommend Coach Transportation as a suitable or reliable option for Colorado residents. The overwhelming reports of chronic unresponsiveness to scheduling requests, significant delays in pick-up (including being left stranded after appointments), and a general lack of communication or organizational efficiency paint a concerning picture. For services that are fundamental to accessing healthcare and maintaining a consistent routine, such unreliability can lead to missed appointments, increased anxiety, and potentially adverse health outcomes for the clients.
While the presence of a NEMT service in Colorado Springs is important, the documented experiences from local users suggest that Coach Transportation, despite having friendly drivers, may not consistently deliver the dependable and timely service that is absolutely essential for non-emergency medical transport. Colorado locals seeking such vital services are strongly advised to thoroughly investigate and prioritize other providers with proven records of punctuality, responsiveness, and clear communication to ensure their transportation needs are met safely and reliably.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The worst medical transportation in town. Very hard schedule rides. Often I have to leave a message that Coach will not respond to. I've left six messages in the last 2 weeks trying to schedule transportation with no reply. I've been left at appointments because coach does not return to pick me up. My advice is to never schedule with coach and report them to the state whenever possible!
Dec 27, 2023 · Shawn DixonI've been waiting to hear back from someone about non Medical Transport since March 2017. It's almost January 2018. However, they do a great job of getting me to my appointments weekly and the drivers are always really friendly. I don't like that I have to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a driver to come get me after my appointment time is over. I feel that reminder calls or emails should be issued out, and I also feel that a driver should automatically come to pick me up when my appointment is over so that I don't have to interrupt my appointment to call. They are always late picking me up after my appointments, way past the 30 to 45 minute window.
Dec 12, 2017 · YN HasEnteredtheChatTheir drivers are very friendly, but their overall service is worth less than a 1-star rating. My client and I wait for transport for over an hour every time we go to her appointments. They only have one working vehicle that her wheelchair can fit in. Also, each time we are picked up they bring a vehicle that she cannot fit in, and we have to wait there for another one which takes 30 minutes to get there. They also do not care to fix their broken-down vehicles.
Feb 18, 2022 · Hailey M.July 7, 2022Since the company has been bought out, there is still a learning curve with the communication and keeping drivers. From what drivers we have seen so far, they are mostly good and learning the ropes. I do wish the communication within the office was better on getting people to return phone messages. Once I see this has improved, I will change my review. From month roughly January 2022 had as 1 starFirst, this review is against a specific driver, Tony, AND NOT the company. While reading this posting know everything is regarding him.Last night, my mother, who uses Coach Transportation to get to and from dialysis three times a week and has been using this company for over four years, had a major problem with Tony. While he was locking in my mom's wheelchair he was very rough about it - not handing her the seatbelt kindly, getting upset because she couldn't tighten it (she is weak from several previous strokes), and being rough with her wheelchair. Once on the road, my mom asked Tony to slow down some because she was starting to feel more nauseous than she already was feeling, he completely ignored her and continued with the fast speed! She also asked if he could move over into the other lane because the road is not as bumpy or rough, again Tony ignored her. Instead he braked super hard when coming to red lights to have the seatbelt cut into her waist, going fast around corners of the road that she felt the wheelchair was unstable, and going fast over bumps in the road that she could feel the wheelchair lift up some off of the floor of the van. At this point, my mother felt she was unsafe in the van and was holding on super tight as she could to the seatbelt.Once Tony got my mom out of the van with her in her wheelchair, he rolled my mom up to the door and started walking away before making sure the wheelchair's brakes were locked (totally against protocol). I saw this and had to stop him from leaving and had to force Tony to wait till the brakes were locked so my mom would not roll away. Once I got my mom inside of the house, she quickly told me what happened, and I ran outside to catch Tony's attention before he drove off.I asked him, "did my mom ask you a few things on the ride home? Like specifically to slow down?" Tony's attitude was like whatever and walked back to the van and drove off.Basically Tony DOES NOT LIKE TO FOLLOW SAFETY DRIVING REQUESTS when it pertains to the client and his or her safety!!!(Fyi… this is the second time Tony has driven my mother and acted this way towards her and myself. I did tell the office what happened the first time (but did not do a review, shame on me). Sadly, I do not feel nothing happened since he repeated his actions again towards my mother and myself.)I again have brought this concern to the company's attention. At this point, my review will remain as is until I see changes regarding Tony or hear something different.
Jul 07, 2022 · K CAgain Coach transport is not listening, I'm a caregiver for a lady and I have to go with her to appointments. First of all they were 30 minutes late we could see the van driving around in circles 3 blocks from us plus they sent a Wheelchair van with no seat for me 3rd time this has happened this company doesn't care or just doesn't listen.
