Drivo Rent A Car Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For New Yorkers requiring car rental services, particularly those traveling through JFK Airport or residing in Queens, Drivo Rent A Car presents itself as an option for temporary vehicle needs. Located in South Ozone Park, Drivo operates as a car rental provider that sometimes partners with online travel agencies like Priceline, often appearing under different associated names such as Fox or Ace. Their business model aims to offer various vehicle types for both personal and business use, including options for daily, weekly, and longer-term rentals. While Drivo positions itself as a modern rental service focused on convenience and competitive rates, customer experiences can vary significantly. It's important for potential renters in New York to be thoroughly informed about their policies, especially concerning insurance and additional fees, as these have been a point of concern for some past customers. Drivo's primary goal is to provide mobility solutions to a broad range of clients, from individual travelers to businesses needing temporary fleet support, aiming to simplify the car rental process within the bustling New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas.
Location and Accessibility
Drivo Rent A Car is located at 124-10 S Conduit Ave #124-10, South Ozone Park, NY 11420, USA. This address places them strategically close to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), making it a logical choice for air travelers seeking car rentals upon arrival or departure. South Conduit Avenue is a major roadway running parallel to the Belt Parkway, which provides excellent vehicular access to JFK Airport and connects to various major highways leading throughout Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island. While the proximity to JFK is a clear advantage, customer reviews indicate that reaching the actual rental office from the airport can involve a multi-step process. This typically includes taking the AirTrain to a designated pickup location (like the Federal Circle Station) and then calling for a shuttle. Potential renters should be aware that the shuttle pick-up process and the physical facilities at the rental location (described by some as a "makeshift shack" or "trailer" in a parking lot) may not align with expectations set by larger, more established rental companies. Despite these logistical considerations, the overall geographical placement in South Ozone Park offers a convenient point of access for both airport travelers and local residents in Queens seeking car rental services, especially given its direct connection to key transportation arteries.
Services Offered
- Standard Car Rentals: Drivo offers a range of standard passenger vehicles, typically including economy cars (e.g., Chevy Spark, Hyundai Accent) for budget-conscious renters and city driving, compact and mid-size sedans (e.g., Hyundai Elantra, Nissan Altima), and potentially SUVs or minivans for families or groups. Their fleet is designed to cover various transportation needs.
- Flexible Rental Periods: Customers can rent vehicles for daily, weekly, or monthly durations, providing flexibility for both short trips and extended temporary transportation requirements.
- Airport Pick-up and Drop-off Services: While their main location is off-airport, Drivo provides shuttle services to and from JFK Airport to facilitate pick-ups and returns for air travelers. Customers are generally advised to call upon arrival for shuttle coordination.
- Business Solutions: Drivo has expanded into business-focused services, offering Business Vans for companies needing to move teams or equipment, and an innovative Loaner Car Program designed to provide on-demand courtesy vehicles for dealerships and service centers.
- Online Booking: Reservations can be made through their website or through third-party booking platforms, aiming for ease of booking.
- Optional Add-ons: Customers might be offered various add-ons such as GPS navigation, child safety seats, and different levels of insurance coverage. However, customers should carefully review all terms regarding mandatory insurance and other fees.
Features / Highlights
- Proximity to JFK Airport: One of the key selling points is its location near JFK, making it a potentially convenient option for travelers flying into or out of New York City, particularly those looking for alternatives to on-airport rental agencies.
- Diverse Vehicle Fleet: Drivo aims to provide a variety of vehicle types, from economical models suitable for city travel to larger SUVs, catering to different preferences and needs. Their website claims to feature cars from "more than 15+ brands."
- Flexible Rental Options: The availability of short-term (daily, weekly) and long-term (monthly) rental periods allows customers to choose the duration that best suits their travel plans.
- Loyalty Program: Drivo promotes a loyalty program that offers 10% cashback in points for every trip, redeemable for future rentals, which can be appealing to frequent users. They also offer referral rewards.
- Business-Focused Offerings: The introduction of Business Vans and a Loaner Car Program highlights a segment of their services aimed at corporate clients and dealerships, diversifying their market reach.
- 24/7 Availability (Implied for Airport Service): While specific office hours vary, the nature of airport-adjacent car rental often implies operational availability for flight schedules, though shuttle service timing can be a point of concern for customers.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For New Yorkers, especially those residing in Queens or utilizing JFK Airport, Drivo Rent A Car offers a car rental option that warrants careful consideration. Its location in South Ozone Park, strategically close to JFK, is a primary advantage for air travelers seeking off-airport rental alternatives, potentially offering different pricing structures compared to on-airport options. The availability of a diverse fleet, ranging from economy cars for city navigation to larger vehicles for family trips, means that Drivo aims to meet various personal and business transportation needs. However, prospective local customers should approach Drivo with an informed perspective, especially given the recurring themes in customer reviews regarding uncommunicated charges, particularly concerning mandatory insurance, and logistical challenges with airport shuttle services and on-site facilities. While Drivo advertises features like a loyalty program and easy online booking, the actual customer experience, including shuttle wait times, the physical environment of the rental office, and clarity on all fees, can impact overall satisfaction. For New Yorkers who prioritize a potentially lower initial rental rate and are prepared to meticulously review all contractual terms and understand the pick-up process, Drivo could be a viable option. However, given the noted concerns, it becomes crucial for local users to conduct thorough due diligence, ask explicit questions about all charges (especially insurance and potential geo-fencing penalties), and document all interactions to ensure a smooth and transparent rental experience. By being fully prepared, New Yorkers can better navigate their interactions with Drivo Rent A Car to meet their temporary mobility needs.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Be very careful with this company. I returned the car in good condition and was told everything was fine. A few days later, they charged me an extra fee for “low tire pressure” — something that was never mentioned at drop-off and came with no proof.Customer service refused to explain or resolve the issue. It feels like they invent charges after the fact to take more money from customers.I don’t recommend renting from Ace. Watch out for surprise charges.
Jul 07, 2025 · Oleks BalaniukI rented a car from Drivo through Priceline. Drivo/Fox/Ace are all the same company. Drivo sent me an email stating that upon arrival, to call them for airport pick up. Unce I landed, I called them for about 15 minutes before someone pick up the phone. The person stated that I actually had to go to a pick up location first and then call them again. For the pick up location, you have to walk for about 1/2 a mile and catch an Air Train to the pick up location. Once at pick up location, It took me a few minutes to realize that I would have to walk about 100 feet through the cold to the “Pick up location.” The pick up location is just an open space with a canopy on top and no walls. The weather was about 20 degrees and with the wind child factor making it feel about 3 degrees. Once there, I called Drivo and this time it took them about 5 minutes to answer. The shuttle wagon took another 20 minutes to show up. By the time that it arrived, I was completely frozen since there isn’t any heating or protective walls. Once at Drivo’s location, I was directed to a makeshift shack in the middle of a parking lot with little heating and no floor. The floor is just asphalt that is part of the parking lot. Eventually, I was directed to go inside to what they call the “Office.” The office is just a trailer parked on the parking lot. As I was getting ready to finally get the car, the counter told me that I had to buy mandatory insurance. I told them that no one disclosed that to me. I had paid $246.51 through Priceline for 12 days. They added a charge of $399.90. In the long run, I ended up paying way more than what I would have paid for other deals on Priceline through other companies. Furthermore, the gas tank was not full. It was only a little over half which I was suppose to return it at the same level (photo). I asked myself, how will I be able to accomplish such? Once I got over the shock of everything, I got “butterflies” on my stomach and felt the urgent need to urinate. I asked the counter person if I could use the restroom. He told me to go outside and make a left and that I would see the bathroom in the middle of the parking lot. Once outside, I noticed a small structure which I figured was the “bathroom.” However, it was all the way at the end of the parking lot whereas you would have to dodge cars since there wasn’t a pedestrian walkway (photo). To make things worst, it had snowed and the floor still had patches of ice. Once at the entrance of the “bathroom,” I noticed black ice in front of door (photo) which made me uncomfortable walking on it. Once inside the bathroom, I noticed that again there was hardly any heat as it was pretty cold in there. There’s really no sink to wash your hands. Is just a porter’s sink that smelled like mop (photo). Over all, the worst by far was the $399.90 mandatory insurance fee. I complained to Priceline and the issue was escalated because they told me that they weren’t aware of Drivo making their customer pay for undisclosed charges. I’m holding off on notifying government oversights and taking legal action for this apparent fraudulent charge. This was my experience folks……..Update……….Update……….UpdateAs a result of Drivo’s requesting that I reach out to them, I wrote to them. Drivo replied by stating that they do indeed allow customers to rent cars on its website while allowing customers to decline the “mandatory” Collision Insurance.” (Photo of email enclosed) Isn’t that a trap? Moreover, they offered to issue me a refund of $60.00 for what they describe as a “misunderstanding or miscommunication, neither is true. On the same email, it asked me if I could delete or edit my Google review. After about 2 weeks, I reached out to Drivo in order to ascertain why the unsolicited refund hadn’t been issued. (photo of email enclosed) Drivo stated that they would look into it while again asking me again if I could delete or edit my Google review. I’ve already notified the local Better Business Bureau and the NY State Attorney General Department of consumers affairs and a local news outlet.
Apr 01, 2025 · Julio A AgronI rented a Toyota Camry from Drivo for six days through Priceline to travel to VA for a graduation. The vehicle itself was good and great on gas. However, the driver’s side seatbelt decided to wait until I was traveling on Interstate 95 to show its faulty ways. It was very frustrating and disappointing at times because my family and I had a scheduled time to get to our destination.I was not happy because I work hard for my money so I expect to get what I paid for. I feel like I didn’t completely get what I paid for in this situation because of the faulty self belt malfunction. I called the office but I was already out of NY and there wasn’t anything that could be done. The agent told me “to pull the belt out extremely slow” to see if that works. My sisters suggested that I take videos which I did to substantiate my allegations and I’m glad that did. There should be some sort of refund or credit to me since I didn’t receive a car that was safe to drive due to the malfunctioning selt belt.
Jun 10, 2025 · Paulina ArmstrongI have rented from here several times and the customer service is TOP TIER! The young men that work here are ALWAYS so PLEASANT and HELPFUL! I really feel that they are much better to rent from than the "poplur brand" renters! Their prices are reasonable and cars have been in good condition! Shout out to Dave at the JFK location, he helped me out this last time I rented and returned my vehicle; such a nice guy! Keep up the GREAT work ACE/Drivo JFK! 💪🏾💯🙂
Jul 01, 2025 · Shanta ConyersAfter renting about 10 cars from this location, not only is the staff rude and very arrogant they talk in there language right in front of you when talking about you. They gave me a smelly rental which I complained about. The worker came over agreed and let me know he will put it in the notes. After return they try to charge me for a smoke smell which I don't smoke. I refuse to pay and the person who was the employee was off that day that actual smelled the car so they was upset. I told them call him at home but they didn't want to. Then I picked up a new rental and left, which was stained in the inside. On return of this vehicle the location at JFK put me on a list that I could not rent a car. When calling cooperate they could not find why but that I could not rent a car. Cooperate told me that the location put this on my file but that they did not know why. So on top of allowing the reservation I had no way of getting home. They did not let me know ahead of time. I would not recommend this place for rental. They are racist on top of that they do not have manners or customer service. All of the staff need to need a training on customer service and how to treat customers. I have uploaded photos of how they gave me the car which was filthy.
