Enterprise Rent-A-Car Introduce
For many individuals and families across Georgia, car rental services are a frequent necessity. Whether it's for business travel, a family vacation, a temporary replacement while your personal vehicle is in the shop, or simply to accommodate out-of-town guests, having access to reliable transportation is crucial. Enterprise Rent-A-Car is a well-known name in the vehicle rental industry, with numerous locations across the United States, including several in Georgia. One such branch is situated on Covington Highway in Lithonia, serving the eastern part of the Atlanta metropolitan area.
As a prominent national brand, Enterprise is often perceived as a go-to for many due to its widespread presence and advertising. However, the experience at individual branches can vary significantly, even within the same company. For locals in Lithonia and surrounding communities, understanding the nuances of their specific Enterprise location is vital. This article aims to provide a factual and engaging overview of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch at 8034 Covington Hwy, Lithonia, GA, incorporating real customer feedback to offer a comprehensive perspective for prospective renters in Georgia. It’s important to note that while Enterprise generally aims for high standards, individual branch operations can sometimes lead to inconsistent experiences.
The Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch is located at 8034 Covington Hwy, Lithonia, GA 30058, USA. This address places it along a significant thoroughfare in Lithonia, a city in DeKalb County, just east of Atlanta. Covington Highway (US-278) is a major east-west road, providing relatively straightforward access from various parts of Lithonia, Conyers, Stone Mountain, and other nearby communities.
For residents in these areas, a local branch offers a convenient alternative to traveling to the busier airport locations, potentially saving time and avoiding the complexities of navigating airport traffic and shuttle services. The location’s accessibility via a main highway makes it a practical choice for individuals who live or work in the eastern suburbs of Atlanta. While specific pick-up services might vary by location or time, having a neighborhood branch like this one is generally designed to simplify the rental process for local clientele.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car is known for its wide range of services designed to meet various customer needs. The Lithonia branch, as part of the larger Enterprise network, would typically offer:
Diverse Vehicle Fleet: This includes a variety of car classes, from economy and compact cars (like a Toyota Corolla or Nissan Versa) suitable for everyday commuting, to mid-size and full-size sedans, SUVs, minivans for families or groups, and potentially trucks or specialty vehicles, depending on local inventory.
Flexible Rental Terms: Customers can typically rent vehicles on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, catering to both short-term and extended transportation needs.
Insurance and Protection Products: Enterprise offers various optional protection products, such as Damage Waiver (DW), to reduce or waive the renter's financial responsibility for damage to the rental vehicle. They also provide supplemental liability protection (SLP) and personal accident insurance (PAI).
Pre-paid and Loyalty Programs: As a "plus member" mentioned in a review, customers can utilize loyalty points for discounts or free rentals. They also offer various discount programs for corporate accounts, AAA members, etc.
One-Way Rentals: Subject to availability and additional fees, Enterprise typically allows customers to pick up a car at one location and return it to another, though this service can be constrained by specific branch policies and vehicle availability.
Customer Support: Accessible via phone and online, Enterprise's customer service aims to assist with reservations, inquiries, and issues during the rental period.
While these are general Enterprise offerings, customer experiences at this specific Lithonia branch, as detailed in the reviews, suggest that the actual delivery of these services can sometimes fall short of expectations, particularly regarding vehicle availability and consistent information.
Based on the provided customer reviews for the Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 8034 Covington Hwy, Lithonia, GA, here are the key features and highlights, both positive and areas of concern:
Ease of Booking (Initial): One reviewer noted that "The booking was easy," indicating a smooth initial reservation process through their system. This is a general strength of Enterprise's online platform.
Polite Counter Agents (Initial): "The counter agents were nice" during the pick-up process, suggesting that the staff at the branch are generally courteous in their initial interactions.
Nationwide Network: While not specific to this branch, being part of Enterprise's vast network allows for potential vehicle swaps at other locations (as seen in the review where a swap was attempted at the Marietta location and then the airport). This network can be a practical advantage for renters experiencing issues.
Vehicle Availability Issues: A significant recurring concern is the discrepancy between booked vehicle classes and actual availability upon arrival. Customers reported being told only a small economy car was available when a different size was requested, even with prior booking. This leads to inconvenience and wasted time.
Vehicle Condition Concerns: One detailed review highlighted receiving a car with a flashing "maintenance light" (tire issue) that persisted, leading to the need for multiple vehicle swaps. Another instance described a swapped car with "something that looks like throw up all on the side of the seat," indicating cleanliness and maintenance issues.
Inconsistent Information and Policies: Customers reported receiving inaccurate information over the phone regarding contract extensions and security deposits, leading to unexpected additional charges and frustrating situations upon arrival at the branch. This lack of consistent communication across different service channels is a major drawback.
Downgraded Vehicles and Rate Issues: Renters noted being downgraded to lower car classes (e.g., from booked to a Nissan Versa) due to availability issues. Promises of rate reductions for downgrades were reportedly not honored, and refunds were either minimal or delayed, leading to financial dissatisfaction.
Lack of Customer Service Follow-Up: Reviewers experienced a severe lack of follow-through on escalated issues. Promises of callbacks from area managers were not kept, and attempts to contact customer service for resolutions were met with unresponsiveness. This suggests a systemic issue with resolving complex customer complaints.
Perception of Prioritizing Insurance Claims: One reviewer concluded that Enterprise "don’t care about customer service because they have a lot of business from insurance claims which is why they ignore request for callbacks and escalated issues." While this is a customer's perception, it highlights a common frustration when dealing with large rental companies that balance various business segments.
These collected experiences suggest that while Enterprise has a strong brand and booking infrastructure, the execution at this specific Lithonia branch, and potentially its broader customer service channels, can be inconsistent and frustrating for renters.
For individuals in Georgia considering Enterprise Rent-A-Car at their Lithonia branch, here is the direct contact information:
Address: 8034 Covington Hwy, Lithonia, GA 30058, USA
Phone: (678) 526-9209
Mobile Phone: +1 678-526-9209
Customers can also typically reach Enterprise via their national customer service lines or through their website for reservations and general inquiries. However, as noted in the reviews, direct communication with the branch for specific issues, or reliance on national customer service for complex problem resolution, may present challenges.
For locals in Lithonia and the surrounding areas of Georgia, considering Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 8034 Covington Hwy, Lithonia, GA 30058, USA, requires a nuanced understanding of potential experiences. While Enterprise as a brand is a major player with a wide range of vehicles and a convenient local presence, the provided customer reviews for this specific branch highlight significant operational challenges that Georgians should be aware of.
On the positive side, having a local Enterprise branch offers the convenience of proximity, avoiding longer commutes to major airport hubs. The initial booking process and counter interactions can be smooth and polite. For those needing a standard rental without complex requirements or changes, and when vehicle availability aligns with reservations, the experience might be satisfactory.
However, the recurring themes of vehicle availability discrepancies, cleanliness issues, mechanical problems with rental cars (like persistent maintenance lights), inconsistent information from staff, unexpected fees, and a reported lack of follow-through on customer service complaints are considerable drawbacks. These issues can lead to significant inconvenience, wasted time, and financial frustration for local residents who rely on dependable transportation. The perception that customer service is secondary to business derived from insurance claims, while a customer's personal view, underscores a frustration with issue resolution.
Therefore, while Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Lithonia *could* serve locals for basic rental needs, prospective renters in Georgia are strongly advised to proceed with caution. It is crucial to confirm vehicle availability for your exact class before arrival, thoroughly inspect any vehicle given (both for cleanliness and mechanical warning lights), and clearly document all communication, especially regarding pricing adjustments or extensions. For simple, straightforward rentals, it might suffice due to its location. However, for anything that might require flexible adjustments, reliable vehicle quality, or responsive problem-solving, locals in Georgia might find themselves in a challenging situation if they encounter the issues described by previous patrons at this particular branch.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1***I’m writing this review for informational purposes only***I’m an avid renter with Enterprise since I work from home and don’t own my own vehicle. I usually rent from the Enterprise in College Park, not the airport location however was further away and decided to try this location that is closer to my home. I’m a plus member and decided to use points towards a discounted rental with Enterprise which I immediately booked! Once arriving, I was told they only had an economy small car and no other vehicles to rent however I could wait an hour for other customers to return. People don’t seem to understand time is very valuable and one thing went can’t get back!I can understand if the location was busy upon arrival however there was 1 other customer to service and she also was unsatisfied! The responsibility of the location especially on its “downtime” is to check incoming reservations and availability. At no point before arriving did anyone contact me to advise of no vehicles in the desired size I requested. I requested a Toyota corolla and had a remaining balance of $1.11. I even asked to be upgraded if they had another vehicle available and I would pay the difference. The customer service team member was understanding of my concern however not able to properly assist.I now understand why I never rented from this location and will not recommend for future use!
Apr 24, 2025 · Tamara WarrenWarning this is a long one. I picked up a vehicle the second week of May. The booking was easy, pick up was easy., then counter agents were nice and that’s the best part of this review. When I get to the car there is a maintenance light on nothing major just a tire issue, they tell me to pull the car to the area where they wash them and the guy proceeds to put air in the tire at that time. The light did not go out. He told me to drive it and it should reset. The next day the light is flashing. I call customer service and they tell me to go and swap out the car I work in Marietta so I went to the Marietta location to do the swap out and they wanted to give me a Mitsubishi mirage which was fine. I’m just trying to get back-and-forth to work at this point. We do the swap out and we’re doing the walk around and inspecting the car and the passenger seat has something that looks like throw up all on the side of the seat. I’m going to include pictures so they then tell me to go to the airport which I do. I get a swap out into a Nissan versa which was a downgrade from the car class that I booked. I called customer service to ask them if they would be a reduction in the rate for the vehicle since it was a lower car class than what I booked and I was told that I was. Fast-forward, I was extending the car on a weekly basis and last week when I called to do the extension, the customer service person told me that I would need to go into the branch to extend. He told me that he couldn’t do it on his end, which was fine he said that they needed to write a new contract. I asked him if I have to pay a new security deposit and he said no they’ll just adjust it on their end. Of course I get to the branch and they tell me that I need to close out the reservation. make a new one and pay another security deposit, which was not the issue. The issue was that I now had to make a same-day reservation on a peak pricing day, which was a Saturday because the person on the other end of the phone gave me inaccurate information. I called customer service I was promised that they would not only match the rate of the rental that I had just closed out and then they were going to give me a refund for the prior rental which I had for 30 days for the downgraded vehicle. I was promised by three different people that the area manager would give me a call and I have yet to hear from him or her when I looked at my bank statement. There was a refund pending for $35. I WILL NEVER REBT FROM THEM AGAIN. The fact of the matter is they don’t care about customer service because they have a lot of business from insurance claims which is why they ignore request for callbacks and escalated issues. I can’t add the video that shows the maintenance light flashing.

Feb 17, 2025 · Gary DJ G-Money TateThis review is long overdue as I’ve admired the 8034 Covington Hwy Enterprise Location for years.Firstly, when I walk in, I am warmly welcomed which is my favorite thing about coming back. Also, these nice people get me in and out with ease and expeditiously. Also, as a bystander, the staff remains professional when others have issues or are disgruntled. Lastly, the consistency is clear because even with staff changes, the new folks are just as courteous and professional. Thanks Enterprise 8034! You’ll see me again.Sincerely & Genuinely,Obey
May 02, 2025 · Obey newbyI had a horrible experience at this location on Covington Highway today. I went there about 10:30 am to pickup a car reserved by my insurance company. I gave them my Drivers License which they said it did not match my reservation. I tried everything that I could to prove my identity which they did not accept. They claimed they will have to speak with management to see what happened. I was been help by a young lady that seemed to be new , she requested help from Frank, that didn’t work. I had to go back home to find documents to substantiate my identity for them to tell me I can not pick up the car there. The young lady was as very loud and rude so I also had to raise my voice.. Because I spoke to Frank on the first encounter I asked to speak with him and she told me he was not there and I should go sit like I was a child then out walked Frank (Useless). I asked her why she lied and she was just going on and on trying to justify her lie and talking over me so I did tell her to shut up. So I was again told I can not get a car there and when I asked why I was told by Frank that I was disruptive and disrespectful to the employee. I had to call the insurance company and they sent me to another location in Conyers way away from my home. They were very professional and experienced. I gave them the same ID and credit card , a few questions were asked and I was out in five minutes with the rental. I know I will have nightmares tonight, never been treated like this in my 70 years because I’m a respected and respectful person. I would like management to run the cameras to see what transpired starting at approximately 10:30 until I left and then came back, I lost track of time because of the ordeal. My name is Monica Johnson ( Johnson Brown).Wednesday, March 26.
