Upon receiving the rental vehicle, we noticed the abundant of brown stains throughout the headliner of the vehicle. We returned to the counter to explain the condition of the vehicle. Mr. "Solutions" (his name tag and signature) assured me that we will not be charged for the cleanup but did not offer another vehicle. How ironic that he did not provide a solution.After leaving the garage, we noticed that the interior surfaces were all sticky. The steering wheel, stereo, and shifter were particular really sticky. The car exterior was also dirty. Open and closing the trunk left dirt all over our hands.The alignment of the vehicle also seemed off. The car seem to pull to the right. This can be dangerous for renters.We also reserved a Mazda 3 or "something similar " but received a base model Kia Forte. So instead of leather interior, decent sound system, and adequate headlights, we received a dirty cloth interior, subpar speakers, and dim yellow headlights. Yes, they may be the same size vehicles but the quality are miles apart.We were in town to attend a wedding. Having to commute with the dirty interior in our expensive suits was horrible. I will never rent from this Hertz ever again and I advise others to avoid it at all cost.

Do not rent here. We booked a full size SUV (suburban or equivalent according to website) six months in advance. After a full day of traveling with four kids under 8 years old, we arrived at the counter the evening of 6/21 only to be told that they didn’t have a car that size. We had so much luggage, four kids and needed two car seats. The expedition they said they could offer (NOT expedition max), simply would not have fit our family and luggage…We had tried to call for two weeks straight before our vacation to confirm the car size, but the phone just rings and rings (there is a number posted for this location online), and when we told the counter agent this she said “oh we don’t have a phone here”….what…?They did not care. It was evening… kids were spent… we were exhausted. I walked down to enterprise and they literally let us pick from a lineup of suburbans.DO NOT BOOK HERTZ JACKSONVILLE AIRPORT.

I had an awful experience, especially after returning the car. They blamed us for a small dent on the hood that was barely visible—only under bright light and from a specific angle. We picked up the car in a very dark garage, and there was no way to spot such a small dent under those conditions. When I spoke with the claims person, he insisted it was our responsibility to inspect the car immediately after leaving the garage and report any issues. I’ve rented cars from other companies before, and never had to deal with such unnecessary detail.Now they’re demanding we pay over $1,000 for a dent that could have easily been fixed (could easily pop out), and we didn’t even cause it. The claims person was very robotic, just repeating their policy rules—which were never clearly communicated to us in the first place.Another important point: I made my reservation (and prepaid) through Dollar Car Rental, but when I arrived at the airport, their booth was closed. I was redirected to Hertz, who ended up handling the rental. If you're booking through Dollar or Thrifty Car Rental, be aware—they’re both owned by Hertz, and you might end up dealing with them instead.I’ve rented cars many times, but I’ve never encountered a company so focused on nitpicking about damage the customer didn’t cause. After reading these reviews, I wish I had seen them earlier to avoid this nightmare.

One of the best car rental experiences I have ever had in my time renting cars. The JAX airport location stayed an extra 1.5 over their normal business operations to allow everyone who may have needed a rental the chance after a long flight delay. This type of customer service is needed and very much appreciated. Thanks for the professionalism and dedication to the customers. I’m definitely satisfied with Hertz. Glad to be a GOLD member.

Whatever you do, don’t book from these crooks through a third party, such as priceline.com. They will reserve you a car, then when you get there at 11:00pm, they don’t have that kind of car, and the car they do have will cost you $28 PER DAY more! For THEIR mistake. Or maybe it’s not a mistake. Maybe they just like to screw up vacations for people by scamming them out of a bunch of money! The clerk was absolutely not helpful, basically said there was nothing he could do to fix their scam. I truly believe it’s a scam to get more money out of travelers. I will never rent from any hertz company again. Ever.
