Car was worn as hell. 50k miles on it. Dirty inside as you can see on videos. Smells really bad. Didn’t expect that “quality” on HERTZ. Really disappointed. Not recommended that spot for your rental.

The problem is HERTZ as a company! Hertz allows their system to book reservations, then they don’t staff the offices appropriately, or make sure that vehicles are available. The staff catches the heat and anger from customers but it’s really out of their control. They have one person, helping every customer and also cleaning the vehicles. They used to have drivers deliver vehicles between locations, and workers to clean the cars. That way the inside workers could focus on customer service.Alvaro, the current representative has gone above and beyond multiple times to help me. Once my mother left things in a vehicle, and he drove, after getting off work, to bring it to us. This is only one example. Lonnie, a manager who had been there for years, was also great. Sure recently left due to poor treatment and burden placed on workers. If cars aren’t ready on time we need to report Hertz for unethical practices, which is what I intend to do moving forward. Have I gotten cars that weren’t fully clean, yes, usually days where the location is busy. They need to hire more people.2nd- The Ontario AirportI try and avoid this location at all costs. As good as the local location is, that’s how bad the airport is. A while back, I returned a vehicle, and handed the key directly to a young, male worker. On my bill, I see a charge for not returning a key ($450). I immediately dispute this and request an investigation. This is the airport, the place with the most cameras possible. I’m told, they never found the key, yet that worker was let go. Which means they saw me give him the key on camera, fired him, but charged me for the key anyway. I stopped renting there after that. Unfortunately Hertz’s unethical corporate practices ruin it for everyone. In February l rented a car from the local location, and before I got to the freeway the check engine light came on. Of course they didn’t have any other cars (read most other complaints), so they told me to go to the airport to get it switched.When I got there, the airport said they were low on cars too. So I left my mom and grandmother with my jacket at the car to check if we could get a replacement. We were able to get a vehicle of the correct class. The original car that the engine light came on in was not the class I reserved, but a class lower. So we take the car and when I get home I realize they left my jacket in the car.The next day I go to file a claim about the jacket. Alvaro, being helpful had tracked the car down and said they hadn’t even cleaned the car out yet and it was still on the lot. That means no one but Hertz’s representatives had even seen the car yet, and it hadn’t been sent to the shop. They lied to my face at the Airport, claiming it must have “just been sent right before they walked out to check it.” Needless to say the jacket, which I’ve had for years, and had sentimental value, was never found. The fact that they act like they can’t find things where there are the most cameras possible, is crazy. Don’t go there, they won’t acknowledge your member status, and they steal there, a lot.

Jun 23, 2025 · A YReserved a car online and showed up with only a 2500 truck available then upsold me on the truck. There's only one person ever working here who has to gas up, clean and process the cars and take customers. This location is close to home but the airport is worth the drive.

Without informing customers in advance, they just asked you to sign again and again, added the clause of purchasing vehicle insurance without permission, and did not give customers a receipt after renting a car. I have no idea what they did. They automatically charged fees when returning the car. The person who handled the business and the manager were the same person. When negotiating with the manager, they did not admit what they did, and their attitude was very arrogant and ignored. They just emphasized that I had signed. They told me to go to the bank. Calling customer service also did nothing substantial. The bank has opened a case for investigation.
