I was verbally assaulted, left stranded with no car, had to call the police just to get my things out of the car. Mind you I was never asked to leave or raised my voice or any of that nonsense. This all happened because their credit card system malfunctioned and took over $800 dollars of my money wiping me clean. I asked to speak to the district manager, the “standing manager” said he did not want to speak to me. I took the matter to an online manager, by the way, the only option we have as consumers is to speak to an online manager who barely speaks English. They also do not care about the consumer. If their system accidentally takes your money, you are completely helpless. I filed a police report because that is THEFT. And am weighing out my options with an attorney. I still over a week later trying to get my money back. This is unacceptable for a business to operate this way.

The last time I used Hertz their system was down an it took an hour to get going so I figured I plan for any kind of inconvenience by being an hour early. When I got there I was the only one then a few other couples showed up right after. I figured the process I went through the last time would be the same, it wasn't. I had forgotten I had used a "TMobile Tuesday" promo to get the vehicle since I had planned months ahead. The girl working the desk mentioned something about me not selecting pre paid gas and that the price I was given would not be honored. The way she was talking made no sense and it would get worse from there. She mentioned through her fumbling that I would need to pay 15 dollars prepaid gas but also have to pay for gas at the half tank that it was. I mentioned why would I have to pay for gas if I'm already paying a 15 prepaid service?? Again the way she worded everything made no sense. So moving along she mentioned the new price would be 35 not 31. Okay whatever let's just get going as we're stumbling along still she mentioned insurance. Now I got there in a Uber I didn't bring my own vehicle so the card I had on my phone was not up to date the policy was the same and good just not the card on my phone. So she moved me along got someone else they're doing their process something happens they go outside to get it fixed she gets the other couple they're moving along something happens she moves them to the side. By this time I called my insurance they sent me a updated card,I show her she then mentions I need the declaration, what is going on. I tell her she never mentioned that just the card updated with the policy. I ask for a manager because by this time I'm frustrated I just wanna go maybe they can help expedite the situation. She retorts back she is the manager because no one else is there. You're fumbling through pricing youre giving the wrong pricing the wrong info and you're telling me you're the manager. Anyway I move back to the side and the 2nd couple goes back up they move along again. Guess what same thing with the insurance happens with them. Instead of telling everyone hey you need this and this so we can move along faster she's fumbling with every group and it becomes musical chairs with us the customers. I get my insurance to send my declaration they couple moved again she looks at it tells me it's wrong. I'm about to explode I tell her to read it correctly as I have multiple vehicles she does notices which vehicle has the correct coverage and moved me along again. When we get to pricing she mentioned before it would be 78 then right at closing she tells me 79. I mentioned that she tells me again I'm wrong she's right she never mentioned 78. No matter what bump what occurred it was never her fault and what she said was clear and concise. I just wanted out I get my clearance mind you I got there at 9am I didn't even leave til 945/950am. I called Hertz mentioned the situation they gave me a discount. Whoever is running this place do not let her be by herself as she has no idea what is going on. Had I know hertz was running dollar among others I would've just gone through hertz. I can't believe these places are not individual from each other anymore so if I had this issue that business would not get my money again but now I just gotta suck it up as there is no choices to go elsewhere.

When I went to return it, Brandon remembered me and asked me how my trip went. I thought that was nice of him to remember. Upon return, the staff also allowed me to check out the other vehicles in their fleet, since I had told them that I was looking at possibly buying a new car in the future. They also explained their car buying program with Hertz, in case I was interested. Overall, good first experience with this location. My only suggestion would be for renters to double check the vehicle. I had no problems with how the vehicle drove or the SUV itself -- it was a great car. But I did find some trash (an empty water bottle and a folded up small Doritos bag) in the back pocket and under the passenger seat. I didn't notice it at first when I got into the car. I found it when I was double checking that I hadn't left any belongings behind before returning it. I just threw the trash away, no biggie, but it's a good reminder to double check any vehicle inside and out when renting.

Jul 05, 2025 · Desiree MariniI picked up the car from San Antonio Airport on Feb 14 and returned it to this location on Feb 15. I filled up the gas fully at Valero near this location. Since the store was closed at that time, I left a key to the lockbox. Today, I received a final receipt, and they charged me an additional charge of $102.62 for Fuel & Service, which I never requested! Are you serious? I am 100% sure the gas was full when I returned it. I am planning to open a claim through Hertz customer service, and if it doesn't work, I will open a claim through my credit card company for this unreasonable charge. Be sure to check your final receipt if you are using this location. I am so disappointed.
